RIP Chris Cornell. Soundgarden was the first of the big 4 from Seattle to get a major record deal. Definitely should try Fell on Black Days, Spoonman, Outshined or Rusty Cage. And, now that you've gone down the rabbit hole, you should also check out Chris Cornell's other two bands, Temple of the Dog (Hunger Strike or Say Hello to Heaven), Audioslave (Coshise, Show me how to Live, I am the Highway) and his many solo projects (When I'm Down) or (Long Gone) from his Scream album who he worked with Timbaland on. He also did a cover of Prince's Nothing Compares 2U.
Yes, weird video. I think it goes great with the lyrics. Feeling alienated, exaggerated fake smiles all around.. "Blackhole Sun , won't you come.. And wash away these crazies everywhere. Thank you."
Chris Cornell had one of the most beautiful voices in rock. If not The Most Beautiful ever. My favorite Soundgarden song and please listen to this and give me a little shout out is called “Outshined.”
This video used to give me the creeps back when I was a teenager in 1994. It took me ages to start liking the song, lol. You should hear Chris Cornell do an acoustic version. It's absolutely amazing.
Hi everyone loved your reactions, I also really like Fell on Black Days, Spoonman and Burden In My Hand. I also really like the song Like A Stone that Chris does with his other band Audio Slave. The guitarist in Audio Slave was also in the band Rage Against the Machine. I think if you guys want to listen to more grunge I would recommend Alice In Chains as well. They have a number of songs that are really good. Love, Hate, Love Live at the Moore, the unplugged version of Down In A Hole, Man In the Box, No Excuses, Would?, and Rooster.
Interesting to note. According to Billboard, this song was number one on their Hot Hard Rock List last week during the eclipse. Pretty good for a thirty year old song!
Please react to Audioslave, another band Chris Cornell was the lead singer for and also his acoustic solo stuff is phenomenal. Chris had one of the best rock male voices of all time. He killed himself at the age of 52 in 2017. RIP Chris!
The old head at the top was feeling it. 🤣 This was probably closer to his generation of music / rock even though it dropped in the 90s. Soundgarden had a 70s metal vibe.
This video always creeps me out, but I love the song! Check out Chris Cornell's live solo acoustic version, it's way better imho! Rest In Peace, Chris Cornell. Thanks again for another great reaction! ✌💙✌
Please please check out the song ‘outshined.’ It’s pretty heavy but I love it. I have so much music I wanna send your way, but I want to connect -this could be fun.
Man, I miss Chris Cornell 💖🙏🏻this was a crazy video! It was not fun watching olliwood looking so bored with such an amazing group! I’m going to kiss my dog however I’d like, 😂. I worked in a bar in the 90’s, so I heard this song at least twice a week for a couple of years. RIP Chris Cornell 💖 I loved all 90s music, rock, RnB, and country! I’m a Washington state girl ( really old girl) take a look at temple of the dogs, it’s both Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell!
First time I saw this video I made the mistake of being "under the influence of certain herbal remedies'... it remains one of the few things to genuinely creep me out. But it's simply brilliant.
Too Olli's point, he's absolutely right-the grunge movement was filled with "depressing" lyrics and motifs, but in a weird way, the melancholy was really optimistic. By reflecting the the general frustrations of a large subset of the population and giving angsty teens an outlet like the Stones or Tupac did before, they may have actually made the world a happier place.
Outshined, Rusty Cage or Feeling Minnesota are 3 of my favorites. I'm a Soundgarden fan, but even I don't love this one. The above were definitely fire tracks.
The singer “Chris Cornell” came out with a song featuring “Timbaland” I know you guys will dig “Part of Me” !!!!! ❤😂!!!! Really should check it out!!!!! Chris also had a band after this call “Audioslave” that is banging!!! And a better 🎵 to do would be from Soundgarden” would be “Outshined” were you can really see how the singer can sing 🎤!!!!!
Thiscwas used by a Candian figure skater in the Olympics. Forgot his name but he was like a rock star on ice. Very unusual pick for a skating routine...was his name Elvis?
Superunknown was such a banger of an album. This was one of the only songs that got played all the time, back in the day, but never got over played. You should check out Blind Melon too. But maybe skip or don’t just one-and-done “No Rain”
I agree with Ollie and Fenom. This is a mood song for me, if I'm in the right mood I'll listen to it. I don't know any other songs from Soundgarden. I do want to suggest Jimmy Olsen's Blues by The Spin Doctors.
Soundgarden is awesome- Chris Cornell's voice is amazing. If you guys haven't already, you should check out some Tool. I'd recommend The Pot to start with, or Right in Two.
Love Soundgarden. I’m so sad Chris Cornell is no longer with us. Check out Temple of the Dog, “Hunger Strike” with Cornell and Eddie Vedder. There are so many Soundgarden songs I’d rather see you react to. Blow up the Outside, Live to Rise, Overfloater, Zero Chance, The Day I Tried to Live.
It's good to keep your opinions honest. Don't worry about it Ollie. Not every song is for every person. We've seen you get hyped for the things that do hit for you. I'd be willing to bet there are songs in your preferred genre that you don't like. Keep being honest. I like the different perspective. Also: Fuck em.
Hey your channel is awesome. 👍🏼 Please react to his other band Audioslave. They have a song called Like a Stone which is very popular, and I think all three of you will enjoy. 💯 Keep up with the good reactions!
I'm with Corey on the song, but 100% agree w/ Fenom about the dog face-licking lol 🤢 If I was to recommend another track to listen to after Black Hole Sun, I'd suggest either Blow Up the Outside or Hands All Over. You could also try Burden In My Hand which even though its not uber representative of their sound, topped charts at the time of its release.
I feel like Corey completely gets this music but I don’t know about the other two dudes. They seem like great guys but I don’t know if they’re like feeling it either do or you don’t but I don’t understand the people that don’t lol One Love!
Don’t judge Soundgarden just based on that one over played song in the videos are a joke because they’re so old that was like a certain point in time but Soundgarden and Chris Cornell in particular is next level talent
I really wish people when suggesting this song would tell the reviewer that the video overlays such grotesque images on a song that on its own is excellent. Nobody can take their eyes off the car crash and just listen to the song and enjoy it. Every reactor judges the song . . . well, they don't even get as far as to judge the song but instead just remain transfixed on the stupid video. What a different experience when you just close your eyes and listen to the music, especially at the end when that sharp tenor voice is echoing what the lead is singing, like a voice born from brimstone. As it turns out the obnoxious video was in fact made by some damn Brit "artist" and had everything to do with his "vision" and nothing to do with the intended meaning, which was nothing more than a free flow of consciousness as the lead singer and writer of this song, Chris Cornell, stated in an interview. Now that said, I don't know whether he meant it or just used it as an excuse to avoid talking about its meaning, which so many rock musicians have done. Regardless of what was or wasn't meant by them, rock lyrics are based on poetry, some of it is clear but other parts surrealistic and are open to interpretation; and it's within that interpretation that we all create our own meanings and imagery, and inso doing personalize it for ourselves--as it's meant to be--and why musicians tend to deflect the question of meaning. So it turns out the video was nothing more than some narcissist's simplistic ideology about life in the suburbs (the same stale ideas I've heard since I was a kid--and I'm 61) that took precedence over the song and so disrupted it that nobody can see it without cringing nor forget its imagery every time they hear the song. A videographer's main job is to enhance the video, not ruin it by smothering it with their own egotistical "brilliant" interpretation. So many great songs, especially in the 90s, were accompanied by videos that were God awful. Chris Cornell said that for this video all they were asked to do was stand there and look bored.
Any song off Bad Motor Finger, Rusty Cage is 1 of my all time favs. Chris had a set of lungs ❤ P.S. I love this band, i don't necessarily love this song
Need to react to some of Wizkid classic hits Show Me the Money Final Soweto Baby Blow SOCO Joro No Stress Low Steady Manya Cool Me Down Immediately Love and Money IDK One Love He has so many classic songs
All due respect to Mercury, Plant and others, but Cornell was the greatest rock vocalist of all time. Range, versatility between genres, showmanship, song writing, longevity. He's a hybrid of MJ and LeBron. Prove me wrong.
Weird and disturbing imagery in MVs was a staple of grunge. My only criticism of the song itself is over-use of the chorus. Soundgarden does have a number of more upbeat songs with non-gloomy lyrics. "Spoonman" and "My Wave" come to mind.
Yeah, I know that it is far beyond "bizarre" to consider: at least for most & I may be a "conspiracy theorist," but it's either that or a "coincidence theorist," 😅 considering all the ideosychronism both lyrically & symbolically in this video. From the "pet goat" depiction, (which if you're unfamiliar) go & watch the "Heliophant" animated film "I pet goat II" sometime. All things considered I think that this particular "work of art" could possibly be related to the fast approaching solar eclipse coming next month. 🤔
I'm a big fan of Soundgarden but this is not one of their best. It might be one of their biggest...but not best. Spoonman, Fell on Black Days, Outshined, Slaves and Bulldozers, Rusty Cage, Jesus Christ Pose, The Day I Tried to live, Like Suicide, 4th of July, Burden in My Hand. Just to name a few lol
Times are gone for honest men...Love that line. The singer one of the greatest voices in music sadly no longer with us Chris Cornell. Try Jesus Christ Pose from Soundgarden or Rusty Cage
Love Soundgarden, but they have much better songs. Cornell himself even said the lyrics are nonsense. He was just piecing things together to see what fit.
A yall sparked thought theres a tune called gamma ray. Good stuffs. Same ole boy whi did song loser. Idk if its familure to yall 1 iota tho. Tune loser was huge at time
Don't sleep on Soundgarden. This was the most well known hit, but they have way more to offer.
Jesus Christ Pose Liveversion...
A lot more! Load up Rusty cage homies
RIP Chris Cornell. Soundgarden was the first of the big 4 from Seattle to get a major record deal. Definitely should try Fell on Black Days, Spoonman, Outshined or Rusty Cage. He also did a cover of Prince's Nothing Compares 2U.
I agree with you. I love Chris Cornell - my favorite - and all three bands, and the whole Temple of the Dog album.
Alice in Chains also signed a record deal in 1989.
FELL ON BLACK DAYS is an absolute second take on Soundgarden, but there are so many good songs to choose from...
The songs "Slaves and Bulldozers" and "Blow Up the Outside World" are some great Soundgarden songs that don't get the play they deserve.
My Wave, as well.
Yes, weird video. I think it goes great with the lyrics. Feeling alienated, exaggerated fake smiles all around.. "Blackhole Sun , won't you come.. And wash away these crazies everywhere. Thank you."
Chris Cornell RIP
He did indeed hang his head until we disappeared. He wrote some prophetic lyrics about the ultimate choice he would finally make.
😢😢😢
Chris Cornell had one of the most beautiful voices in rock. If not The Most Beautiful ever. My favorite Soundgarden song and please listen to this and give me a little shout out is called “Outshined.”
This era was the absolute peak of music videos.
Chris Cornell’s cover of Billie Jean is really good!
His cover of Nothing Compares to You is better.
This video used to give me the creeps back when I was a teenager in 1994. It took me ages to start liking the song, lol. You should hear Chris Cornell do an acoustic version. It's absolutely amazing.
Fell on black days, masterpiece..Audioslave sensational, love Chris.. grateful for all his music... 🕊NZ
Chris Cornell's one of my favs all
time voices spec in Audioslave such a standout! Rip legend try Pretty Noose from them goes alright..
Hi everyone loved your reactions, I also really like Fell on Black Days, Spoonman and Burden In My Hand. I also really like the song Like A Stone that Chris does with his other band Audio Slave. One of the most haunting vocalizations in the history of music.
Every single in the 90s got a $1M video so enjoying them with just the album art is different
Man just out of nowhere I’m also thinking of Days of the New who remembers them?
You have to close your eyes once you see the weird video. 😂
The music is great!! ❤
Yes. The video distracts from the brilliance of the music. ☮️❤️
Chris Cornell another great artist gone but not forgotten!! 🌹🔥🔥🔥💖💖💖💯💯
Please please check out the song ‘outshined.’ It’s pretty heavy but I love it. I have so much music I wanna send your way, but I want to connect -this could be fun.
I feel like you should react to 'Outshined' by them. Real good song

I like Chris Cornell solo stuff
Glad to see you back Olli!
Sound garden is a rabbit holeto go down ❤
Try Audioslave - Show Me How To Live, the same lead singer as Soundgarden.
I absolutely love this song. Chris Cornell had a beautiful voice.
Great song. RIP Chris one of the best singers ever. ❤
First time I saw this video I made the mistake of being "under the influence of certain herbal remedies'... it remains one of the few things to genuinely creep me out. But it's simply brilliant.
Just be happy it were herbs not fungi!
Chris Cornell is my favorite male singer ever! Amazing
Corey, that air drum fill you did early on earned y'all my "like."
AH, then you you leaned in! Heck yeah!
But also, even as an og fan of this song and a fan of visual absurdity, this video is A LOT.
The Day I Tried To Live is my favorite Soundgarden song.
Gotta do Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean from Michael
Outshined, Rusty Cage or Feeling Minnesota are 3 of my favorites. I'm a Soundgarden fan, but even I don't love this one. The above were definitely fire tracks.
Love ur channel guys! I look forward to ur reactions

I ❤ its mental in the best of deranged ways ! Rip
When are you going to do Since I've Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin?
It's good, y'all trying to expand your musical horizons. That album is a classic. Try Metallica, "Unforgiven" next.
The two guys that didn't know it looked terrified watching the video lmao
Thiscwas used by a Candian figure skater in the Olympics. Forgot his name but he was like a rock star on ice. Very unusual pick for a skating routine...was his name Elvis?
Elvis Stojko, had a mullet, was brilliant. Not sure if that's how you spell it
Superunknown was such a banger of an album. This was one of the only songs that got played all the time, back in the day, but never got over played.
You should check out Blind Melon too. But maybe skip or don’t just one-and-done “No Rain”

Check out Audioslave "What You Are " and "Show Me How To Live " Chris Cornell vocals
I remember this song
I thought it was weird but I still sang along and don’t even know what it’s about 😂😂😂
Why you is dumb lol
"Super Unknown" is one you should check out. Thanks!
You should give "Spoonman" a listen.
🖤RIP CHRIS🖤
Totally get the crew’s comments, but check out Spoonman by Soundgarden
Great song❤ Smith & Myers of Shinedown does a good cover of this. Chris is Brent’s idol. 💯🔥
To get a sense of the chops on Chris Cornell listen to Outshined. It’s a banger and his voice will blow you away
Soundgarden Outshined also check Chris Cornell out in Audioslave. RIP CC
Try "Slaves and bulldozers" by Soundgarden for the true tone of Chris and the Band! 🤘🏻🔥🖤🔥🤘🏻
Soundgarden is awesome- Chris Cornell's voice is amazing.
If you guys haven't already, you should check out some Tool. I'd recommend The Pot to start with, or Right in Two.
*Check out their song FELL ON BLACK DAYS.*
Totally, absolutely... best song on this album.
I think the songs you would like by Soundgarden are Spoonman, like a stone, and Outshined.
Love Soundgarden. I’m so sad Chris Cornell is no longer with us. Check out Temple of the Dog, “Hunger Strike” with Cornell and Eddie Vedder. There are so many Soundgarden songs I’d rather see you react to. Blow up the Outside, Live to Rise, Overfloater, Zero Chance, The Day I Tried to Live.

r.i.p. chris cornell.
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎rest Chris
ignore the video and just focus on song, which is really really good
I share the sentiment. Sometimes the world seems so corrupt and phony, you just want it to be cleansed.
I feel like Corey completely gets this music but I don’t know about the other two dudes. They seem like great guys but I don’t know if they’re like feeling it either do or you don’t but I don’t understand the people that don’t
lol
One Love!
I actually had a switchblade comb. 😂
Soundgarden has A LOT of good songs:
Fell On Black Days
Outshined
Rusty Cage
Burden in My Hand
Pretty Noose
The Day I Tried to Live
Don’t judge Soundgarden just based on that one over played song in the videos are a joke because they’re so old that was like a certain point in time but Soundgarden and Chris Cornell in particular is next level talent
"Spoonman" 💚🤙🏼 and check out Alice in Chains.
The video is a little distracting but a decent song. My favorite by them is Outshined. Like a Highway is also a good choice

Soundgarden outshined please
Say whatever you want about that video, but it probably got the song heard more just from the "you've gotta see this video" viewings
Need to react to some of Wizkid classic hits

I think he has 4 ? octave range
Going forward, it might be beneficial to just react to a lyric video so do you music videos are not distracting.
I'm a big fan of soundgarden, but this song and video are very odd, but also Chris Cornells can sing anything
Alice in Chains- Rotten Apple, Nutshell, Don't follow
Times are gone for honest men...Love that line. The singer one of the greatest voices in music sadly no longer with us Chris Cornell. Try Jesus Christ Pose from Soundgarden or Rusty Cage
Love the song. Hate the video! The Japanese female duo Cibo Matto actually a cool cover version.
You didn't end it
Beatles meet Black Sabbath
My pet peeve is people who have pet peeves.
The music video is just like "these white folks be crazy." 🤣
Check out Alice In Chains
Chris Cornell has killer vocals. This is not her best song. Check out like a stone
Um,isnt this the Rapture?
Burden in my hand is a BETTER song to be introduced to Soundgarden, I think.
Someone knew an Astrophysicist, because "Black Hole Suns" are a real thing. I figured that out decades later 😂
