+Conte Vincero That bit on the hospital gurneys is pretty slick, and a sort of tribute to that sort of synchronized swimming dance numbers of old 50's musicals.
This video perfectly illustrates the pain of dealing with a friend with addiction. It may not be the video they wanted to make but it’s entertaining as hell.
So glad to be over and done with that shit. You gotta laugh about it and your past selves, all the ups and downs. It’s easy to cry about if you wanna dwell on all the hurt, but that’s no fun and just makes you a bummer. Much better to laugh.
My top 3 songs of all time. Love this dam song. Video and band. The Dandy Warhols are not everyone's cup of tea. But dam, this shit still rocks all these years later. Listened to this album everyday when it came out. 2023 and it's still going.
I virtually never critique content for "themes and symbolism" but here it is. It shows a paper-thin veneer of happy excess over this sea of deeply unsetting images, such as choreographed dancers on hospital gurneys. It's endlessly disturbing to watch, which is presumably the point. Brilliant. Oh yeah, and a great song and a great band.
Spectacular Busby Berkeley (gurney) sequence, Zoolander outfits (years before the film), nod to the Solid Gold Hit Dancers, Mullets!!, Puking mimes, A NEW (🔥) CAR!! and the best rock band ever.. This video has it all!
I"m betting that 99% of those reading (or making) comments on this brilliant music video have NO clue who Busby Berkeley was or even the June Taylor dancers that Jackie Gleason's show made famous. June Taylor came after Berkeley who revolutionalized the art of choreography using synchronized dancers in fabulous costumes. The gurney sequence here is a prime example of such creativity. In addition to the song and the music, another shout out to the costume designer who illustrates a dangerous subject via costuming and effects to the max. . It's rare when a song and a video hits one out of the park using every component in the arsenal but this song/video is flat out sensational.
@@TedOtis Yep. I'm over 70 now and actually met Jackie Gleason when he was in the Atlanta area shooting "Smokey and the Bandit" with Burt Reynolds. He stumbled into the kitchen at the restaurant I was tending bar. The doors of the kitchen were exactly like those of the mens/womens restrooms. He was three sheets to the wind. Some quick witted waiter spun ol Jackie around and pointed through the door. . ."it's THATAWAY". One of the funniest fucking things I've ever seen. On his show, the June Taylor dancers used elaborate precision routines ala Busby Berkeley but the thing that made their precision so visual was the overhead camera shots that made the dancers look like they were being viewed through a kaleidoscope. Really nice. Check out an old JG show.

lay bullyfan Ok, I´ll stay of that shit then
Javasboi i usually don't reply to comments, but for you i will make an exception. Please my friend, do not try it. If you do and you like it, you will have a horrible life. You will put heroin in front of everything. This might sound messed up, but if your lucky it will kill you and spare you from a life of misery! Pay attention to the video. All that is waiting for those who fall to heroin. I would encourage everyone to not do any drugs but especially heroin (and all opiates). Please listen to those of us who made the mistake. Carry on and be Strong! God bless...
b sher is there a seat for me?
A terrific song with great dancers and choreography
Discovering a 1997 gem in 2023 - Priceless!!!
Nothing cuter than a woman playing the tambourine 😊😊😊😊☺️☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and i definitely have my eyes on her, i didn't even realize she was playing the keyboard as well, very talented woman 👌👌👌👌
Is no-one going to mention how good the dancers are?
Conte Vincero they are amazing!!!!
+Conte Vincero That bit on the hospital gurneys is pretty slick, and a sort of tribute to that sort of synchronized swimming dance numbers of old 50's musicals.
those 80s moves aren't easy to do
I think the male dancers are stunning
...almost every move from Michael Jackson vids
This video perfectly illustrates the pain of dealing with a friend with addiction. It may not be the video they wanted to make but it’s entertaining as hell.
Fell in love with this track before i viewed video.. 🎤🎤🎸🎸🙏❤️❤️
she sure knows how to keep a beat....Luv it
Who? The drummer is a guy.
Masterpiece. Dark and funny.
Maybe I'm an asshole, but as an ex junkie, this cracks me right the hell up
Ditto brother, glad you can laugh at that bit of yourself, maybe our salvation.
see reply to bigdaddy above. thx.
So am l !
SAME
So glad to be over and done with that shit. You gotta laugh about it and your past selves, all the ups and downs. It’s easy to cry about if you wanna dwell on all the hurt, but that’s no fun and just makes you a bummer. Much better to laugh.
ME TOO ...I love it !
My top 3 songs of all time. Love this dam song. Video and band. The Dandy Warhols are not everyone's cup of tea. But dam, this shit still rocks all these years later. Listened to this album everyday when it came out. 2023 and it's still going.
Great song. Sad Reality.
2020, anyone? My Gosh! I had the chorus of this song for the last 3 hours. A lot of effort, to actually find it...
This song is not yet passe... who's watching this video in 2020?
Me!
@@ms-ke5os me also, LOL
You?
Me. Blue Zone diets and not doing the “eat a bunch of animals and get addicted to H,” thing is the only way we are getting over the pandemics era
I'm so in love with the keyboard player.😍😍
This song is 20 years old. It gets better every time I hear it. :)
25 years now and still rocking!
This song, and its accompanying video, have reached classic status. - Hunter
This song is my personal dose of addiction. His voice makes me swoooon❤️🔥
90s at its best!
In addition to the song and the music, another shout out to the costume designer who illustrates a dangerous subject via costuming and effects to the max. . It's rare when a song and a video hits one out of the park using every component in the arsenal but this song/video is flat out sensational.

never heard of the June Taylor dancers, you say they came out of the Jackie Gleason show?

That's a great story. Thanks for that.
I loved him in Smokey and the Bandit.. and of course the Honeymooners.
This is brilliant
2023 baby. Still love this song. My kind of music. And that choreo - damn!
