- In this video, Sinead takes you behind the scenes to visit some of Soho's best gems, including a tailor on Saville Road, a pop-up David Bowie shop, a Mod store, and much more. MORE LONDON VIDEOS: / freetoursbyfootlondon .
We start in Mayfair on Savile Row, the home of bespoke taylors where we will step inside one legendary shop to learn about how suits are fitted. Next, we head into a small courtyard for a popup David Bowie shop.
We then head into Soho where we will stop by some great eateries and explore Carnaby Street and into two Rock n Roll memoribila stores before heading down the Vinyl Mile. That's just a small bit of what we have in store for you.

In the early sixties there was a coffee bar called The Hungry “ I i’s”. The coffee Shop was at street level, and downstairs was a music bar where aspiring singers and bands would perform. I can’t recall the street in SOHO.

I can’t thank you enough. My dream would be able to go to Ronnie Scott’s I remember when Cleo lane and Johnie dankworth used to play there in the sixties . Loved every minute of the walk .was so pleased to be taken to look in all the shops .❤

Brilliant another captivating tour , so Informative . I love the independent store’s , fantastic Mods shop , and the Rolling Stones store . RIP Charlie Watts keep on banging those drums . I did date his niece many years ago. My friend had a suit made from Savile row for his wedding , it cost a small fortune but no where near as expensive as he’s divorce. Many thanks

Watching this tour on our home YT. Just had to drop that I'd seen Bowie five times starting when I was 16, for the Let's Dance tour. That was the great thing living in the San Francisco Bay Area, all the great music tours.

Perhaps you could do a walking tour of Knightsbridge some day with stops on the side streets like Beauchamp Place, Sloane Square or Motcomb Street. You said it right - Sellasie was said to be a direct descendant of Jezreel King David and Solomon - hence the rasta connection. The now online Daddy Kool records was once by far the best record shop in Berwick Street ... especially for reggae. Sex Pistols were a Soho band. Malcolm's shop was on Kings Road but the band were Soho and most of their early-mid 1976 gigs were Leicester Square and the surrounding area around it including the 100 Club obviously; St Martin’s School, Queen Elizabeth College, Kensington, London Polytechnic, Westminster, Marquee, Nashville, West Kensington, the Lyceum in the Strand, Screen On The Green Cinema, Islington, and Notre Dame Hall, Leicester Square ... then the Grundy incident occurred and the attempted London and UK wide ban kicked in.
This is perfect love your extensive knowledge of the area

thanks, Sinead, very interesting video about Soho. When I was young and lived in London # (Lewisham ) I used to visit Soho to spend some time after I had visited Dobell's record shop in Charing Cross Road. This shop was very famous for people who liked jazz music and on the basement floor they had many vinyl records for sale, either brand new or second hand and the had 2 booths where you could take the LP into a listening booth, so if you liked the record you could buy the album. This shop closed down quite a few years ago..Top floor at street level was for brand new LPs, by many famous or other jazz musicians
