Such a epic car and a credit to Paul for doing such a great job i remember this one from the baTTle of Hastings breakfast meet a few weeks ago.

I’ve seen many pics, details as it’s been built etc but it was my first time seeing it and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a testament to Paul’s hard work for sure

Was lucky enough to see the car in the flesh at the Hastings meet really stands out! Paul’s done a great job and got himself a very special car there.
Totally agree on the similar era porsche think you can get a TT very close and prob save yourself 50k in the process 🙂
Couldn't agree more! Yes a Porsche may increase in value but then the general maintenance cost would be quite substantially more as well I'm sure, yes Paul has certainly done the car proud, and it is a true reflection of his hard work 👌

Great review of a great car Dom! Paul has a very nice car and he is very proud of it. I remember he took a biker to get some oil when we were at the BaTTle of Hastings meet (who was a Porsche guy) and I think he was blown away by the performance. You have saved me a job now 😂

Beautiful car initially but the extra horses and the way they are delivered.... Wow,,,,,,,My Qs is coming "home" soon and I'm so excited to get it back after 6 years away. Mines not that power but only 285ish. Big thumbs up and roll on part 2.. Cheers Dom and Paul
Thanks Kenneth, See i am on the fence, dont get me wrong I love the big power and he's like nothing else, however a subtly modified TT is still very much enjoyable when you know how to drive them just right can be handfuls of fun, without the bills of a big build, it all depends on where you want to go with it and how long you intend on having it, as far as I'm aware Paul will never sell his so it's a lifetime investment 😎
Very nice car. I just replaced my fans yesterday and solved a twelve year problem with fan low speed. My hands are all ripped up from the work.
Its not a very nice job with terrible access but like you say its quite a big issue, ive lost count of the amount of people who have had slow speed failure / issues, im included in that

I have heard people say that black is the fastest colour haha, Its a lovely car that has been well cared for along the way, ive yet to drive a tdi mk2, the thought of a diesel tt still seems odd to me 😀
Some of these guys ... crazy the doe they spend on their motors! I admire their passion and dedication!
It’s amazing how it snowballs, but then again if you spent the money on buying a newer car it would just blend in with traffic 😋
Plus even if you intend to keep it original it will end up like Trigger's broom anyway 😃

Normal mats are great, but they don’t stop crap getting in the carpet, this is a nice solution for sure! Thanks buddy 👌🏻

Great video I'm new to the TT world but it amazes me that the standard gear box can handle that sort of HP. Googled the floor mats wondered if anyone has ordered for a MY 2000 from diamond car mats? Seems to only go down to MY 2005 would that fit ? Again great content love the UK scenery.
Yes they will fit ( gear box is on last legs hence no launching yet)

I'm accumulating parts to build my 1.8t New Beetle and I've already spent twice the car's worth. Just want to do it right the first time
There is a lot to be said to planning and not just rushing it, built right first time is the best ways to do it. I’m also in a similar boat atm while I’m accumulating parts
when u put youre foot down see you next tuesday just with a 225 TT its a MK4 HOLF THAT LOOKS LIKE A PORSCHE

Bilstein b14 bembro GT car is fully polybushed even the steering rack.
Cockbots on steering aswell hpa controller basically everything.
My mechanic thought it would be to harsh but even he had to admit it was a fantastic drive firm but compliant he is a rally cross and rally driver he lives driving mine .

Hi Paul, thanks for your feedback, l live in North Yorkshire, so a fair trek to your part of the world. However I'm considering contacting JBS in Chesterfield. My car is 2006. Just put through mot last week However has rust underneath will need a good sort out subframe, suspension, brake upgrades not sure where to start. Thinking suspension and subframe refurb . But wasn't sure on H&R cup suspension or coilovers. What would you recommend.

I hade a e46 before I sold it and bought an Audi tt mk1 225, it’s more fun with the Audi but I do miss do some burnouts with the bmw 😢
I know exactly how you feel, in my earlier days I had BMWs in Japanese rearwheel drive cars, sometimes you just wanna kick the back out round the corner

We are certainly in to do a part 2 in the future. Be worth speaking to JBS if your planning or thinking about a big build I’m sure they can advise what they recommend

Hey, we have not done much in the way of Bluetooth based code readers, I believe most work and you can download some free apps to give you a generic codes or you can use a purchased app for better features, see this link for recommended ones, also it depends on if you use android or apple ,

How many km in the long run can this car do to run well ?
Providing its mapped well it should last a long time as very little stress it put on the engine, if its used for racing i would expect a season or two max
It's my daily it's run over 13k still mint
What sort of money to get one of these to around 400bhp?
If you do it all your self, just parts probably looking at roughly 5-7k. Getting someone else to build it and do work 12-15
Mine runs really rough in traffic and off I’m under 3k rpm smoke comes out of my exhaust pipe because it thinks I want to floor it all the time 💀😭
Sounds like your turbo may be needing some attention 😅

@@TheParrottBros my whole engine has been rebuilt with fully forged components and my turbo was rebuilt everything is new
I can't find the the mats for the MKI TT on Diamond Car Mats website, does anyone have a link?
They are definitely on the diamond car matts site I checked today?
@@paulknight7535 Hi, I just wrote to them and it appears they can't do them for the mk1. They say they "require special 3D manufacture measurements to ensure a perfect fit ..." So I guess they must have used to do them but not anymore

1st and 2nd on a standard car is absolutely crap for hitting the limiter to be honest so god knows what this motor is like but absolutely love it
It certainly does its best work in 3/4/5th thats for sure
