You just earned yourself another subscriber. Just inherited a 2001 audi tt 1.8 225 6 spd learned alot about replacing the suspension, I can see mine already been lowered however it definitely needs to be looked at and enjoyed watching you install a front intercooler, decided to take a look and realized its already done on mine. Thank you
i had an 03 engine code BEA TT 225 that i had a frontmount on and it was the single best mod ive done to kinda button up the boost system considering those cars are so notorious for boost leaks. I actually considered it a better mod than the 42DD downpipe i had on it.
Even after just having it on for a short period of time it's made a crazy difference. The car is leagues smoother through the entire rev range. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking this! Thank you for the support!
Wonderful information in minute 6:45 (The turbo system) How the air flow and cross all the "gates-hose" through the "turbo" and its effects explodes the air towards super-charge and the motor increase the Horse Power! And how all change with this new kit. Thanks
I am absolutely going to be polishing up the paint along with the suspension, here in the next few weeks, as the weather gets warmer! Great idea! Thank you for the support!
I have the same silicone charge pipe exit hose, and the bead rolls seem to be to big to fit in the hose and I cannot fit it in. Did you have this issue?
Haha I've actually always wondered that. You would have to use some strange routing but I do think it could work. I would wonder if the cooling benefit would outweigh tbe negative of the longer and more inefficient routing though.
Another great upgrade, so just to be clear, your order with CTS Turbo took longer because they sent you a wrong pipe? At any rate this great video tutorial! No doubt my indepent audi mechanic has always mention this type of upgrade, just great to know that CTS Turbo has a specific type for 225, just hoping they are now aware which to send to customers and not 180 lol
Yeah the part fits great! And yeah you are correct! There was a mixup in their packing department so they boxed up the 180 kit vs the 225 kit. I ordered this during a sale they had so they were shipping a lot. They were happy to fix it though. They were super helpful with the whole process. Thanks for the support!
I bought one of these kits for my TT and I was able to fight with it to get it bolted to the mounts. However, my bumper does not fit. Spent hours upon hours trying to get it to fit, but the mounts were not measured correctly when it was mine was manufactured. I've fit intercoolers to my other cars and know what a pain it can be and that's why opted for this kit. I have to say I am pretty disappointed.
@martintorees6999 Yup, you got two options. Leave the FMIC unbolted, and fit your front bumper without cutting it. Or, unbolt the shock absorbers for the front from the carrier support, bolt the hangers to the shock absorbers, then bolt the absorbers back to the carrier. You will have to trim the bumper if you bolt it up this way. If CTS just could have just measured up their brackets better, you wouldn't have to trim. I contacted them, and they never responded. Trash customer service. First time using their products, but it will be the last.
@@xo7966 I think I'm at a point where I might just take this off and put the stock twins back on. Get rid of CTS and grab a wagner front mount. I should've gotten it from the jump. I appreciate your insight though, much appreciated! How much did you have trim?
Ha I was just brainstorming the factory TT intercooler… and thinking about how you could recycle them into another project like go cart / motorcycle. I’m wondering can you convert them too water to air intercooler!!!😐🤓😂😂😂🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀😂😎
That's such a great idea actually! I've ironically got a go kart project from highschool that I've been wanting to rebuild for a while now. I am gonna add turboing it to the list now haha. The water to air idea is also really interesting! Thank you for the support!
Yeah that could be something worth trying! I tried to install it on top of the crash bar because that's what the pictures were like on the install guide that came with it though. Thankfully where I put it has ended up holding up really well so far. Thank you for the support I really appreciate it!
like your video's, i don't understand why so many thing in this kit don't fit as it should be. The intercoolingmounts bolts, and the passenger pipe don't line up very well.
I am glad you enjoyed the video! I was surprised with some of the fitment issues I had as well. The intercooler is fantastic from a functional standpoint, I just wish the piping and brackets fit a bit better. Thank you for the support!
That is a really great question. I know the S4 has dual intercoolers in a similar location, and it wouldn't be the first time VAG re used components, so there is a good chance haha. I will have to research this further, Or just compare them once I upgrade the ones on my S4. Thank you for the support!
@@HunterDirection you’re welcome. My A4 just has the one intercooler on the drivers side. I was thinking about either upgrading to dual or possibly even putting a front mount from an S3, they are huge!!
It's more about the quality of the cooling cores than the overt size itself. It's larger than the oem units and rated for more power in those regards so it's a solid kit though. Thanks for the support!

You just scored a new subscriber that owns a Mk1 TT. 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀🍀🍀😎
Thank you so much! I am glad to hear you like the channel and the content. The support is much appreciated :)

GREAT video. This one was the exact prescription to give me the nerve to resolve to pull the trigger. Well done! Also, subscribed. Love it,
Love your content man, been watching multiple Videos in anticipation for my TT build!
Really good video. Very informative. I like your relaxed way of doing the work. Well done.
I am glad you enjoyed the video and liked the relaxing vibe! The support means a ton to me. Thank you!
Fantastic video. Please keep it up!
Thank you so much for the support! Glad you enjoyed it!

I am really happy you found the information useful! It's a really fun system to learn about. Thank you so much for the support!
Amazing once again!
Looks like a good kit I put the gravity one on mine which is a bigger cooler but the core is really poor. Good job mate 👍
Thanks for the support! This kit has a great core and the car runs perfect with it on. Glad you liked the video!
Repaint the two sills and give the paint a general polish. The suspension you already know.
I have a mk1 TT fwd here in Portugal.
Nice cars

A better flowing inlet/intercooler will add to the drivability and engine response.
Remember air flow volume is king.🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀🍀🍀
I completely agree. Airflow is king! Thank you for the support!
Isn't the intercooler blocking the air flow to the radiator? Have you experienced any issues?
where did you get the red pipes in 8:41??
CTS website it state you had to remove the headlight washer to make it fit. Was your headlight washer already removed or you kept them on?
where did you put the map sensor?
This is the question that needs an answer
I have the same silicone charge pipe exit hose, and the bead rolls seem to be to big to fit in the hose and I cannot fit it in. Did you have this issue?
Why didn’t you put the other two intercoolers (that are from the car) combined with the big one?

What front lip spoiler is that?? I love it
I actually made it out of a universal carbon lip kit I got online. It was a bit of cutting but nothing too difficult. I've got a video on it actually.
I have a question

I’m struggling with that myself now 😑

I think you were supposed to mount the intercooler under the upper part of the crashbar and not on top like you showed, and thats why it didnt fit.
Yeah that could be something worth trying! I tried to install it on top of the crash bar because that's what the pictures were like on the install guide that came with it though. Thankfully where I put it has ended up holding up really well so far. Thank you for the support I really appreciate it!

That's a rely small intercooler that's pointless waste of time
