Thank you so much for having me for the day Jamie, really did enjoy that :D few thing i want to add , my car ( Red MK1 ) was actually not on its full boost map on the day but wasn't noticed till afterwards when i checked the logs , 3rd gear was limited to 2 bar when it should have been 2.5 bar , i forgot to switch maps prior to the pulls .... Massive respect to the guy i was against ( Benny ) , stunning car mate and extremely capable once fully built , 1st thing i mentioned to him off camera was get it to a dyno and see whats its doing currently as i have a rough idea where they should be at 700bhp time wise . fuel wise mine was on TS114 unleaded race fuel and benny car on full E85 :)
@steblob Jamie really wants to do a full feature as alot has gone in to this to get it to its current spec but the last year has not been kind to the paint and started to get some lacquer peel so want to get that sorted before I do a feature as want to bodywork looking good again 😂
@@fightingglobal726 The car is not stock. It pulled a much faster 0-60 time than stock at 2.95 v stocks 3.4. For instance though a Porsche 911 Turbo with 650hp is rated at 2.6 but can do better. No surprise the old car can't do that but you would think an up to date TTRS with 700hp could be closer.
Why do i get the feeling the RS is down on power? The red TT looks 700 hp, especially in the rolls. Not to sure about the RS though, it looked more 550/600hp

it doesn`t look like, both cars have nearly the same Power. The new one has around 550hp when it takes 6,9 sec from 100-200 km/h. Something doesn´t work right there with this TT. my TT RS 8s drove: 560hp 100-200 6,1 sec 760hp 100-200 4,4 sec 900hp 100-200 3,6 sec

As a Mk1 owner they often get underestimated but done right they are fast. That mk1 is well known to be quick and has had a great formula behind it. Great to see a Badger 5 tuned car do so well and Bryn @BWSTT supporting. 👍

Lonmg time viewer here, just wondering if its possible to instead of just always show the top 15 leader board but maybe show 7 cars either side of their time and what overall number they are? if youve kept all the data, id love to compare cars not just to the top 15, but cars closest to their time in an overall leaderboard. Its not often these days the leader board changes so a bit boring seeing the top 15 every episode, overall leaderboard or 7 either side would be so fun comparing the lower league cars! anyways just a minor suggestion not sure how hard it would be to do!
@@sajsed2ttrs is only making 500 at the wheels, probably 560ish at the crank. My stage 1 rs3 runs 10.7s and it’s 400lbs heavier. A 700hp ttrs should be high 9s trapping 140mph+. Also it sounded weird when he revved it, maybe the ecu is pulling timing or something is hurt
Mad props to the Mk1!! Having had a stgIII for 12 years, you guys did a stellar job! That TTRS is NOT 700hp!!! Get it looked at as something was amiss. My RS3 with Most Bolt Ons (no dp or injectors) ran a 10.79 at 126. And obviously a stock turbo.
This was such and awesome battle! I'm a huge 1.8t fan so I was rooting for the old school. The new school exhaust sounds better and it looks great. The old school also looks sweet and gets up and goes!
As a few people saying the TTRS is deffo not making 700hp based on the 100-200 times… My 730hp F80 M3 ran a 5.09 100-200 and that MK1TT ran 5.1 so that he’s up nicely TTRS @ 6.9 something ain’t quite right.. From Jamie’s Chanel some other examples: 540hp VXR (7.4) 500hp Cupra Diesel (7.3) 580hp 911 Turbo (6.4) He must have a low spot in the mid range that’s for sure…
Those who know Badger 5 from back in the day know he builds proper VW engines. Back in the day was running a Jetta on ITB's. Congrats on choosing a proper engine builder.
Listening to the TTRS, its running rich on fuel, its low on boost, the shift are not crisp and are slow/dull, it had a little break-up towards the mid run in the rolling races. I had an TTRS, made 670 all wheel horsepower to the tires, 1120 nm of torque. It ran 9.55 @ 177 with (Sprayed NOS sometimes_if the intercoolers held 🤣). 0-60 was 2.55 or 2.75 seconds depending on tire condition, was a street car with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. Car got wrecked by a semi-truck at a fuel station in Germany, wasn't even in the car, truck lost its brake. Benny needs his car to get checked.
Jamie you know how well Badger 5 and Bill and Alex tune cars. Remember Nick Vaughans S3 you had on the channel, the full road legal race car. Same tuner mate 😂
It true at all.. that's just for engine design. Many people run 800/900hp stock crank 1.8t non stroked :) It's an easy way to stroke though using the 1.9.. you'll get more torque but less revvy
As long as they have a 700ho build they'll put some effort in.. but if you're going to badger with anything under 400 be prepared to be put to the side (cut corners) to get you in and out the door 🤣 too many complaints.. they care about big builds but not the usual customer unfortunately :(

(Not with big builds they'll spend weeks obviously) But on other setups they cut corners by spraying hotisde with water and also running the car at 60degress C on a full power run... The only reason you'd do those 2 things are to fudge results, make money quicker and get them out the door. Running cooler engine temps will allow for more timing and more dense are.. (more power) and couldn't be added to wait till full temps.. the spraying hotisde again to fudge temps and numbers.. sad really as they obviously know what they're doing.. but have lost the motivation he used to have when they were up and coming.. same in every industry. Once they make it to the top, the smaller guys aren't cared for properly.. I'm very against that method of business because it's not right at all, it's unfair and unprofessional.. also damaging to peoples engines / turbo. People need to know the truth mate and this is the truth. He posted the log himself and showed the world his mistake he did a full power run at 60c 🤣🤣 you know and I mnow a car should never ever be boosted until at full temps for many many reason. It's not even a question

All respect to the MK1 TT but that is a slow TTRS for a 700+ HP figure. I had an MK7 Golf R with 550 HP and that puts a quarter mile of 11 seconds flat on Dragy! Get a properly tuned TTRS for a better comparison

Mega build that TT Mk1, that's a lot of work and dedication. With almost 7 seconds 100-200, the TTRS doesn't have 700 hp, though, not today anyway.

10,99s quarter, so it's definitely powerful as well. But yeah, it was weirdly slow looking compared to the oldie.

All respect to the MK1 TT but that is a slow TTRS for a 700+ HP figure. I had an MK7 Golf R with 550 HP and that puts a quarter mile of 11 seconds flat on Dragy! Get a properly tuned TTRS for a better comparison

A nearby ttrs to me on stock turbo does 5.7 100-200 with a heavy ethanol mix, so something isn't right with that car
