That chorus is so sexy and so new wave.
This synth pop reminds me of the Terminator when Sarah Connor goes into TECH NOIR 😊
the best pop music ever made was 1978-1989 IMHO, though new wave wasn't really relevant beyond 1984 or so

It's not just her face. It's not just her body.

I agree with everything you said. The two artists in the music industry that I appreciate most are Kylie Minogue and Terri Nunn, with completely different styles. Terri being my number 1. When I analyze the scale of evolution of the two, it is obvious that Kylie developed all her interpretation skills album after album and continues to improve to this day, while Terri didn't need to find her peak, she already started out perfect, I would like an authorized biography of Terri, so I can gather some information and come up with a reasoning about why the industry missed such a talent, she should have been a global brand, I have never found a girl in entertainment who caught my attention more

They look so cool here and sound even better. If this was recorded and performed in 1979 that were so far ahead of everyone else with this cool Euro new wave sound.
This band should have been far more renown than they were. I liked the harder rock sounds from them and like the spaced-out synthesizer sounds like in this song even more. This awesome song needed airplay in 1980 to jump start the fame of this band who I never heard of until 1983 and even then very infrequently until 1985 when No More Words was heard.

Not really. Gary Numan & Tubeway Army were doing this kind of stuff previously, as was Ultravox and Human League with their early stuff. And of course Giorgio Moroder had been doing that kind of thing for several years, as of course had Kraftwerk. Interesting that they ended up working with Moroder.

I met her once in an elevator with her band mates after one of their concerts on a lark! She had on her signature black and white hair style and I asked which band they were? The little mite then tossed out a couple of chart toppers they had already racked up from LA … me still thinking “My, these Germans have very good English!” … Then, someone on Tik-Tok served up “Metro”, “Masquerade”, and “No More Words”. That’s when I realized … “Hey! This is an American band singing Euro-centric songs!” New wave they called it back then. Indeed! I’ve a playlist now at Spotify with all of their songs included. Quite the body of work!

I remember seeing this on You Tube at least 10 years ago and freaking out over it. Absolutely stunning! ... To think Terri left Berlin to become an actress and appeared in the awful Thank God It's Friday with Donna Summer which is why she wasn't featured on the very first Berlin album but then came back for Pleasure Victim (thankfully)

One of the hottest singers-then and now. Terri Nunn and the band was West-Coast New Wave (a la X, Missing Persons, etc.) a sadly missing element in music today. Forever underrated was the band Berlin. Would live to see the classic line-up again on tour or with new music.

Funny, I got to see them twice in 1984.
I was in atlanta for a computer convention, and was driving around looking for something to do... Driving past the Fox theater, I saw the marquee, and Berlin was going to be there. Wait. That's TODAY!! (look at watch) That's NOW!!. Went up, they still had tix, bought one, saw it, they do/did a great show.
Later on, I'm home, and the Thompson Twins were performing in town. And who is headlining for them ? Yup. Berlin. 😀
They pretty much blew away the TTs -- Berlin got called back for two encores, and the second one they didn't even do one of their other unplayed songs, but a good cover of Prince's "Controversy". The TT's got called back twice, and didn't even have a second song to play, so they played one of their previously played songs again. 😕

So quickly time will come and time will go
    It runs on by
It steals your hopes and dreams and one last chance
    You never know
    I can see it now
I can feel its scolding hand
Saying come on now you've got to run
You wonder can you stop the hands of time
    Erase your fate
He's laughing, knowing that he's got control
    Just watch and wait
    I can see it now
I can hear the whispered voice
Telling me now you've got no time to waste
    It's a matter of time
It's just a matter of time
    And you've got to see
You have the answer, you have the strength
There's no denying it's in your hands
    It's in your hands
    It's a matter of time..
    Living breathing touching feeling
    Hoping dreaming still deceiving
    Searching finding losing crying
    Know the truth you're dying
    Oh you're dying
    It's a matter of time..
Remember who you are and what you have
    The time is yours
Your flame is burning down so guard it well
    It may go out
    I can see it now
I can see the end of time
Holding the answers to all your fears
    It's a matter of time...

Freakin Berlin/Terri Nunn sounded so good back then!! Look so outrageously cool too!!!
I saw them last year in Portland Oregon and Terri Nunn is still smokin hot, with one of the most seductive voices in the history of music. Only wish they would have brought in some of their old Prophet 5 synthesizers to really capture how good they once sounded.

One of the strongest new wave lineups ! John Crawford's words woven into a great rhythm with excellent synthesizer. Terri Nunn displays her command of the stage with an economy of female motion. In another time she could have been Jim Morrison's dance partner.
