I did, too! I'd sing and dance to this album on cassette looking in the full length mirror on the back of my bedroom door!!! This brings it all back!! ❤😅
Notice the people in the audience, enjoying the show & the moment...not trying to capture everything on a device to post it on social media! Those were the good times!!!!
I saw this tour - 1983 in San Diego - but I have to admit that it's a bit of a blur now. We partied A LOT back then. But my memory is of a fantastically fun night!!
This is 80’s new romantic/new wave music and the serious attitude theatrics that went along with it. It was all about the look, the hair, lots of makeup ( for guys too), and the hair. Haha
Back when performers really performed, really sang, and were really awesome. Terri Nunn was infinitely more talented than any of today's divas. And she was as sexy as any of today's divas, and need not where the tightest shortest things possible - all she had to do was perform and sing. And the band - superb, great music writing. And Nunn herself slamming the cymbal at 4:20 - she AND the band were simply superb.
@@donutcookiepie Most of this is in fact live. The drums are played live to a click track. The bass is a synth, being played by John Crawford. The synth patches are indeed pre-programmed, like a guitarist might pre-program an effect, but that does not mean they are not played live.
great band great material and a hell of a show, but honestly i think Terri was a little too active. im not really a fan of the obviously sort of pre rehearsed whole bit during Sex, i would much rather she spend more time at the mic looking out into the crowd where i could just stand and make starry eyes at her. its one of the things i dislike about the hip hop and pop performers, they go onstage with this whole crew of back up dancers and choreography. and im here to see a band not a show.
Saw her at my graduation night in Los Angeles, saw her several decades later and she is still as lovely and talented and nice as always. It was a pleasure to actually meet her at charity gala. I’ve always loved their music. I wish Terri Nunn and the band well.
Beautiful young lady with a memorizing voice... Was never a fan of this pop genre of music back then .. but I always loved her sound... Would have loved to see her... But old, broke and probably never get the chance... So many missed opportunities in life as it flys by so fast now....
That was just...incredible. The a/v quality was impeccable, musicianship and performances were ace, breaking out into Cat Scratch Fever, the crowd dancing their asses off..the whole thing was phenomenal. Holy Jesus almighty I was I were there!
Phenomenal, I met Terri, John and David nearly two weeks ago. John is the most beautiful person. I told Terri that Tell Me WHy is my favourite from Pleasure Victim and she laughed as all my favourite Berlin tracks I mentioned are not the typical ones. She loved it!
Yes, you know you're a fan when you appreciate the songs that weren't the biggest hits. Interestingly, I now think On My Knees from the Transcendance album is their best piece ever. I would not have expected their musicianship to improve so dramatically over time--they were always very good--but that song is a masterpiece.
This is the best line up of Berlin. Too bad they were an underrated band. They've got so many awesome tunes from their early years. Plus, John Crawford and Dave Diamond are extremely cute! ;) Thanks for sharing this video!
I got the pleasure to see Berlin live a few times back in the early 80's first 2 album tour. David Diamond on keys and Matt Reid play together awesome along with John Crawford.
I remember seeing Berlin live in either 82 or 83 at a lunchtime concert at Cerritos College in CA where I was attending. Supposedly it was their first live performance, or that could've been a rumor. Richard Blade of KROQ at the time was the emcee and also dating Terri Nunn. It was a great show. Wish someone had a video of it.
A friend who lived in Simi Valley at the time said Berlin played at--I believe it was--his community college. That would have been '83, I think; it was certainly before "No More Words". Lucky dog.
I remember this well; it made an impression with its edginess and music theatre. But, yeah, it was from a recurring series on the Showtime network called Rock of the 80’s. Different bands, and the opening song was Romeo Void’s Never Say Never. Watched the classic shows on my big ol’ dish up here in Canada, in the day, Kenora.
Think I had that on beta back in the day. It was on a Showtime series called Rock of the 80's back in the day, on my big satellite dish. The end graphic confirmed it. Great to see it again, so edgy and wild I felt
Thank You !! I wracked my brain trying to remember the name of that Showtime series. The one thing that stands out in my mind is that when one band would finish, the stage would rotate and the next would start immediately. Plus it was live, and drove a nail in the coffin of the thought that "New Wave" and "Synth Bands" couldn't replicate their songs on stage. We watched it over and over, and this episode with Berlin was one of my favorites.
Damn Terri, im exhausted just watching this. im surprised how well she is singing with as active as she is being here. she is so stunning, shes like 22 here and i was all of 11 LOL. at this time i was a young man torn, between my love for Terri and my devotion to Cyndi Lauper.
at 8:12 they cut into ted nugents "cat scracth fever" nice!!!!..... love this song!!! i was 17 when this concert took place...1983....great year for music !!!!
Bad ass New Wave-Rock Legends! the original line-up intact man Terri, John, David, Matt, Ric and Rod! Tell Me Why is my favorite and Sex (I'm A...) is an 80's New Wave Classic banned here on public radio lol made #62 but furthered better in Canada at #5.
Like I'm so sure. Totally I so love Berlin I could just die. I'm not poking fun I love Berlin older cousin got me into great music. The only thing is we lived in N.Y and she talk like a valley girl. Ha!!!
This is probably the hottest live performance of the 80s. Yet way more classy than dances we have today.
"Classy" perfectly stated yes!
Berlin were just inaugurated into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Well Deserved!
BC their liberal and no push back , not that they didn't deserve it but made it WAY easier
When did they get inducted? I couldn't find them listed
David Diamond's guitar solo in "Sex (I'm a...) is the best! This synth pop perfection!
one of my favorite solos. not sure why he ruined it adding the Nugent bit.
@@newwavepop David is my sparkling diamond - open your mind baby! 🍆
I played the shit out of this cassette back in high school. Pleasure Victim was a great album. Ahead of its time totally 80’s.
Me too! Vinyl however lol so underrated and ahead of their time!! The best times my friend!
I did, too! I'd sing and dance to this album on cassette looking in the full length mirror on the back of my bedroom door!!! This brings it all back!! ❤😅
im 57 and still jam this while i work. any new wave 80s is fantastic music we will never hear the way we did . music today is junk
Notice the people in the audience, enjoying the show & the moment...not trying to capture everything on a device to post it on social media! Those were the good times!!!!
They would have if they could have
The first time I saw em was June 28th 1984. Raincross Square Riverside
@@dadzilla8015 I was at the show too!
Those fortunate enough to be in the audience back then witnessed a truely passionate and epic performance
I saw this tour - 1983 in San Diego - but I have to admit that it's a bit of a blur now. We partied A LOT back then. But my memory is of a fantastically fun night!!
Terry nunn is still rocking stages ... Different hair styles of course ... Rock on D's
I like how Terri's whacking the cymbal like a maniac at 4:15 and stays perfectly on the beat. Controlled mayhem was what Berlin was all about.
Oooooooh, those White Pony 1980's ...
John Crawford looked like john Taylor from Duran Duran even with the hat 😘
bvg83 yo for real. It’s kind of throwing me off lol
Yeah, sexy! But Terri was the hottie.. Even today!
He and Teri not only killed it musically, but made it an opera. What an optimistic time to be alive.
This is 80’s new romantic/new wave music and the serious attitude theatrics that went along with it. It was all about the look, the hair, lots of makeup ( for guys too), and the hair. Haha
Beautiful performance of Terry and John Crawford..
Today's music acts have nothing compared to the awesomeness that was the 80s!

I love Berlin but most of that is not live. The bass, drums and most of the keys are pre programed.

Terri gives me the Stevie Knicks vibes what that voice.

History will record Terri Nunn as one of the most talented, beautiful and sexy women to ever perform on stage.
Take me to the 80s!

a Terri nunn ,,, faz shows belissimos ...eu vi ela pessoalmente em 1984 ... mas hoje em dia (2023) ela faz shows
That was just...incredible. The a/v quality was impeccable, musicianship and performances were ace, breaking out into Cat Scratch Fever, the crowd dancing their asses off..the whole thing was phenomenal. Holy Jesus almighty I was I were there!
I saw them in concert I think it was 1984 and they were incredible!
Great beat, great vocals, great synths, great guitars...... Berlin is so awesome. Really love the 80's music!
I was on a dance show called MV3 withvRichard Blade.. It was the first time Berlin appeared on TV.
These two songs make perfect sense played back to back.
Great performance.
Love it.
There is such passion in her vocals she doesn’t hold back love it
I am French fan for Berlin !!!!!!

A UA-cam video with over 29,000 hits and no thumbs down? That's amazing in itself. Great times here.
They don't show thumbs down anymore.
Yes Terri. You are a Goddess. Always will be.
She’s a little lady with a big voice! 😮😊For some reason they were overlooked. I always liked them and especially her singing!
Terri Nunn of Berlin is 5’6”
@@VM-oi3dk That’s short.
@@dynjarren8355 inches above average for a woman in the usa today, even more back then
Tiny singer produce wonderful, stable and powerful voice. Very rare.
Terry Nunn of Berlin only looked tiny because of her oversized hairdo. She’s 5’6”. 1.68 m.
This is the best line up of Berlin. Too bad they were an underrated band. They've got so many awesome tunes from their early years.

This rules. I wish the synth bass was louder like this on the records
Was Crawford actually playing bass on the records, and programming it into a synth for the live shows?
@@aiames Not positive but i think he just used electronics

thanks for the memories.... wonderful band ...always reminds me when i met carol
that intro to sex is just fucking fabulous
I remember seeing this on TV back then. Can't remember the show. Night Flight? Terri Nunn is still gorgeous ❤️
Saw them in Ventura California around that time. Just a great show, amazing company, and great waves!
Awesome to see a performance that doesn't seem to be lip synced!! couldda done w/o the cat scratch fever guitar solo IMO.
yeah i didnt get that :/
This was an extremely Sexy song back in that time...I remember hearing it on KROQ and had to have the album
Seen them at us fest
They wrote that specifically to get the attention of KROQ! Most stations around the country banned it.
