The Queen’s Indian Defense is one of the strongest and most solid defenses against 1.d4. It’s an opening system and it can be played against many different move orders by white. In this video we explore the old main line of the Queen’s Indian, in which black fianchettoes his bishop with Bb7.

You might try to break the symmetry with e3-c4-Qb3 and you will have a little advantage

This channel deserves a million subs I'm trying to go from 1520 to 1600-1700 and have already spent 7 8 hours here. I've not made progress but my game with black has substantially improved.

Great video! I like these hybrid structures between dutch and QID but will you make video for probably the most challenging line for black 7.d5!? I believe that this line is one of the few lines in QID in which white has a fun with attack, because as you have shown f5 move is in lot of lines just very good for black and white has very hard time proving some advantage.

As a player who often plays King's Indian, Sicilian and Benoni and at some point I played the Nimzo quite a lot, I really find the f3-e4 an annoying setup to play against. The only way I can fight them is transposition to the Marózsy.

I like these positions as it reminds me of a Dutch classical. In the classical Dutch a big problem are your queen side pieces especially your light squared bishop so I might play this just to be able to fianchetto my bishop which is ideal and then go for f5 later

1:48 this position just looks like a bad version of the english defense where the premature nf6 took away any form of counterplay with f5 and/or qh4.

Thanks for all your work Stejpan. Is there any chance that you would consider analysing the queen's gambit accepted?

Great Video, this is how you teach a opening, I only have one question.
Do you know why the Queen's Indian has gone out of fashion?

I don't like that this video just contains "pawn structures": it's difficult to understand what is going on. You should shows full positions and then highlight the structures.

Man, you have a way of explaining things that is practically incomprehensible. In my opinion , irrespective of your chess skills, you need to work on your communication skills. Perhaps that is why you have so few thumb's up for so many views.
