Rc8, threatening Rc8-c1, then Rh1#. From what I can see, the only move that stops it is Rc7, after which Rxc7, Nxc7, KXc7 leaves black with only pawns. f3 is countered by h5, keeping the King trapped., and if the d pawn moves the king can capture at his leisure. Ra1 allows the capture of the a pawn, after which the rook on rank 2 or 3 traps the white king, and you can secure checkmate either by bringing the king or promoting the A pawn. Just keep the rook off rank 1 to avoid blundering into stalemate.
This is the same move that I found. I believe it best in position. Also f3 is too slow because king will be checkmated first still even if they take your pawn
That's the first move that occurred to me also, but I don't think I would have actually done it because I'm not super good and you really have to see all the way to the end to be certain it is a good move. Too complex for my ability.

I would love to see some of your games that you have played and you analyzing it explaining your mind set during the games! And why you made your moves
Rc8 starts checkmate attack after R8c1 and Rh1#. White can only stop that sacrifising Rook and Knight for the Rook, which means that white will win the game: The pawns f2, d5 and a2 get lost and after that it's an easy win with the a7-pawn to promote into a new Queen. Black only needs to check that he won't produce a stalemate
I've watched a bunch of your videos, and I have to tell you this is the best and most helpful video you have made in my opinion. Thanks for your hard work!
15:11 the correct pronunciation is Pirc as Igor pronounced it and not as many freaks pronounce it. The pronunciation is more similar to the last name Pearce and the defense was named after Vasja Pirc, the grandmaster from Yugoslavia.
I've been watching you 4 about 4 years now. You have really enlightened me. I'm gonna say, I wanna push the "g" pawn. It fits your hint of don't defend, but attack. The d5 pawn forking my pieces bites, but is not decisively damaging. So, cross the center, attack the Knight!!! Where's it gonna move! Hope I'm correct! On with the video P.S., I do hope to be able to $$$ someday sometime on a few of you instructive videos.
Hi Igor, why worry about our pawns when we can go for mate! Their K is completely stuck. I see no serious threat from white, so Rg8,g5,h5#. Thanks for a great lesson!
Igor is teaching you guys how to go from intermediate to the next level but so many people in these comments dont want to learn the lessons hes teaching so they convince themselves they need to learn something else, like opening traps or harder tactics. Dont be a horse that wont drink. Take time and practice the things he’s saying. This doesnt not apply to you and you dont “know more what I need than he does”. Play slow, rethink moves with these fundamentals in mind. It’ll slow down then itll become second nature and youll get better.
How about Rg8 with the intention of going Rg5 and Rh5#? This would also guard against white’s Kc7 in future in case black king needs to take pawn on d5. After black’s Rg8, white loses a tempo if they try to capture either of the two pawns available. The only move to guard against mate is pf4 which opens up the white’s position to attack with two rooks.
1:25 Why not either rook to e8? I'd move the inactive rook from the h8 corner pinning the pawn to the queen. They can of course take the pawn, let you take the queen and it seems dangerous, because white's pawn is one square away fro. promotion, but the other rook guards the 8 rank.
man speaks the truth I just won 2 straight games implementing THIS mindset, one of which where I blundered a piece and both by checkmate (700 now 716, for now😭). counterattacking not only forces your opponent to stop attacking you, but it also forces them to spend time thinking and bleed their clock down in blitz games😤.

10:48 f5 I suppose. Save the pawn, solidiy the g4 pawn to protect from f3. Or wait, maybe even rook c8, then move it to c1, threatening M1. Doesn't look like white can do much.
I keep slipping into the 'defense' mode of playing like I did as a kid. I am now forcing myself to ask that question ! How do I go forward into my opponents half of the board and attack something ?
For the puzzle, I'll play Rc8, white will have to play Rc7 to give up the rook and knight for the c8 rook, otherwise Rc1 followed by Rh1# seems to be unstoppable
