    The Queen’s Indian Defense is one of the strongest and most solid defenses against 1.d4. It’s an opening system and it can be played against many different move orders by white. In this video we explore the Petrosian Vaariation, in which white prevents any pins on his crucial c3 knight with the early a3.

    I think it's worth studying the QGD Tartakower if you want to learn the QID and vice versa. I played the Tartakower for a long time before seriously learning the QID, and the experience I had really helped me understand the d5 variations. Gaining some knowledge of the Semi-Tarrasch is a good idea too for dealing with White's broad centre set-ups. Great video, Stepan.

    In 14:26, black cannot play Nxd5 as white has Qe4+, if knight blocks, white takes the rook. And if queen or bishop blocks, white takes the knight.

    Great video, thanks! Very interesting weapon for me as white against somebody who knows how to equalise in the polugayevsky gambit in main line. Also I plan to play QID as black to have a positional alternative to my KID, because you dont always want to win by playing very risky positions. Again thanks a lot for this amazing content.

    If the petrosian exists, and is an option for white that leaves black inevitably worse, then should I not just play the bogo instead as black, so as to avoid the possibility of the petrosian?

    Many inaccuracies. For e.g. At 11:40 you anyway must break in the center with c5, so obv. If he checks and we play c6 to defend he reatrs his bishop then c5 and we are more than fine.

    What about english opening, and larsen attack, are you planning to review?

    • @theulf3780

      I think I recall Stjepan saying that he doesn't select the openings but leaves this decision to his patreons.
      Also because "we" are currently in progress of completing the d4-playlist it will probably take some time before we come to the English and Reti opening :)

    Stefan, which sicilian variation(for black) has the least theory? It would be really great if you could help😀

    • @jaroslavpors6559
      @jaroslavpors6559 4 роки тому

      Maybe some 2.a6 sicilian or 2.Nf6, interesting weapon I found lately is kupreichik sicilian e4 c5 Nf3 d6 d4 c×d4 N×d4 Nf6 Nc3 Bd7!? which has a bit more theory than those sicilians I talked about higher because of Q×d4 option or Bb5+ after d6...but it is really great and there is still way less theory than in sicilians like dragon, najdorf, classical....and of course you have to know things like 2.c3 2.Nc3 but thats in all sicilians

    • @besto5486
      @besto5486 2 роки тому

      Most Sicilians with little theory are usually terrible so i'd recommend the kan Sicilian which has a moderate amount of theory but is good nonetheless
