    I've been making l. reuteri yogurt for 8mos. My mental state is better, I've put on muscle, and I no longer need to lotion my face after a shower. I also quit grains about a month later and lost all my visceral gut fat and two belt holes/sizes. Works for me lol.

    So grateful I found you. I have been struggling with the decision to make a big change in my lifestyle. Been in functional medicine circles for some time after coming from a keto background 6-7 years ago. Starte by just trying to fix my father's A1c of 12+ through controlling his diet. Went from over 300 units of insulin a day to 3-6 in 2 years. I did keto during that time and had insane initial results but ran into challenges and slowly moved to my father's diet since it seemed to be working for him. I allowed a couple of pieces of bread, and a small amount ice cream occasionally. Once I started eating bread again my appetite became a problem which led me to considering carnivore. I currently drink about 32 oz of homemade kefir and 24 oz of homemade kombucha a day but still eat bread. I knew something was up because if I eat certain foods, I immediately get congested. Gut biome has been a topic I have learned about through functional medicine, but your perspective makes more sense.

      He explains in other videos that those diets are fine for short term or cyclical basis but not long term. He lists several reasons and among them are a lack of prebiotic fiber necessary for a diverse microbiome of which is the chief cornerstone of his health philosophy.

    Thank you for all the great info! I purchased your Super Gut Book and I'm almost done highlighting it. Jordon Rubin cured himself of a terrible case of Chron's Disease and he used fermented medicinal mushrooms as part of his regimen. What would happen if I added dried or powdered medical mushrooms to the ferment for some of your recipes?

    About the before and after photos of the lady's face at timecode 30:00. Why is the photo to the right blurry? It is misleading because the wrinkles are not as pronounced because the photo is out of focus. Not very convincing the treatment that the is effective because the photos are so different ....

      Maybe he's thinking about those as labels. If you're keeping your carbs to less than 15 g per meal as he suggests, you're going to be in ketosis. If your body isn't burning carbs, it's burning fat, fueling your body and brain with ketone bodies. Dietary ketosis = ketogenic diet.

    Clinical research citations would be very helpful in some of these videos. It would change Dr. William Davis's assertions from that of a book author and UA-cam health influencer to that of a legitimate researcher. I thought I heard him say Keto and Carnivore diets were dangerous!!! I am otherwise a long time fan of his after freeing me from the grain monsters.

    How is it that the process of making bone broth simmered over several hours extracts lead, yet bovine collagen supplements are lead-free? Aren’t those supplements made from drying and hydrolyzing the collagen-containing parts of the animal? Additionally, where would a pastured, grass-fed animal get lead? Couldn’t a person just make long-simmered bone broth from a grass-fed, pasture-raised animal?

    • @chermonfils
      @chermonfils Місяць тому +4

      After doing some more research myself, it appears that the studies finding elevated lead levels in bone broth (higher than tap water) only found those levels in chicken bone broth made specifically with skin and cartilage, not beef bones. This should probably be clarified by this channel going forward, instead of scaring people away from making their own bone broth from pasture-raised animals.

      we also use a VERY hybridized wheat that contains upto 15x more glutens than European wheat and we have a lot of additives in breads, grains, cereals that are just outright banned in Europe. I have few digestive issues eating bread or pasta in Europe.

    • @CatherineJonesTX
      @CatherineJonesTX 17 днів тому

      He says in a different video that the wheat being grown today is very different than 100 yrs ago, think he said in around 1960 the farmers wanted more production so a new hybrid grain that has a lot more gluten and the gliaden protei and that's the problem

    He talks like a salesman. As a general rule it's wise to avoid people like this. As a counter example, I have been listening to Natasha Campbell McBride, And her tone of voice is not that of a salesperson, rather that of a researcher/practitioner.
