Hes a liar lol game is hard and the cutscenes are amazing especially when the guy arm gets ripped off and then thrown into the River like a rag doll when it gets to the 5 area it gets difficult
I say Dead Bride is the humbler fr. At least the first one. Her shield is massive and her wide area ability will catch you off guard the first time. Plus if someone goes down you gave to let them die unless they're at the edge of it. And the minions barely drop ammo. If you didn't struggle at Dead Bride you will at Devourer. His HP regen will make your efforts fruitless unless you can dish out that much damage which if you haven't maxed (at that level) out your weapons and got the right weapons in the first place you definitely won't be beating him the first few times
The harder late gam difficulty is due to them wanting you to buy the things that make your character better. This gas been researched on their side this is the best way to maximize the money you spend. Make the game easy in the beginning to get you hooked and then once you have a good amount of hours invested, you're more likely to pull your wallet. Its a looter shooter with mobile monetization. You truly don't have to spend a dime in warframe to experience everything they have to offer.
My wife and I are playing this game. Yeah I know a lot of people have complained about the microtransactions but this game works well for us. We don't spend money on microtransactions and we don't care about the customization very much so for us it's just a free experience
The shooting in Anthem was terrible for me because the sound design was awful. Every gun lacked impact. Just hearing the audio here gives me relief for this game.
Noone who reviews goes past the tutorial stage. And just like Destiny and Warframe, the difficulty really ramps up half way through the games missions.
Challenge is good 😎 it took me til today since launch to beat normal campaign, but hey i managed to not give up immediately lol I definitely stick to this game personally 😌
@mathiashallstrom4982 Same! I expected him to play like this though when I saw that his defensive abilities actually scale with his defensive state. I'm level 40 and steamrolling.
Can someone please explain to me what tactical advantage the horns and bunny ears provide? I can't upgrade my horns or bunny ears. I also love how everyone looks the same in this game. And also chain mail in sci-fi... 😫
They give first impressions with a group of people. They don’t do reviews. They missed stuff… like the colors can be earned by doing doing challenges. And the mission result screen is viewed when you view the options screen… and some other stuff.
It's one thing to charge money for specific color customization options, but to make it a one-time use is beyond scummy. I should not have to pay money each time I want to change my torso from red to blue
Its a one time use for that skin. Not much better, but at least on that same skin, you can swap between unlocked colors at will, in every slot. Unlock red for a skin, you can put red in any slot on the skin, an unlimited amount of times. Was actually several things in this video that were just blatantly incorrect. The real scummy thing is that you have to have a skin to use colors.
Yea between shorting u on the premium currency just enough so u can’t repurchase the battle pass and making the colors a one time consumable for specific costume parts really shows that there gonna nickel and dime u with the MTX’s on every little thing
Okay I am lvl 40 AT FIRST I DID NOT LIKE IT. If you’re willing to give it some time you can find that you can just shut your mind off and actually have a lot of fun with it . The gun play is pretty good
Yup LOLOLLLL It is syupid easy early on. Very smart on devs part bc it gets you used to mechanics and types of missions etc....then they take the training wheels off hahaha and i love it
We have entered the days where a game with no soul and predatory microtransactions is "actually not that bad" because it managed a smooth launch and is actually playable on launch....
No, the game is genuinely good the devs have listened to every single complaint and provided. Pretty much the best live service I've seen in any game in at least 20 years. Also, the "predatory microtransactions" can be earned with minimal effort. Try it out yourself before leaving uninformed feedabacks.
@@hedoingitsideways My comment was more a critique of the current environment that games get released in and not of The First Descendant itself. I'm not one to yuck anyone's yum so if you enjoy it that's great. And while true, I haven't played it for myself, from every review and play session I've seen the game looks absolutely uninteresting to me and I'm simply not going to play it. I'm glad you like it, but to me it looks like everything I dislike about modern games, funding model included.
@@sillygoose_8635 Okay, so if you're not going to play it, why do you think you understand enough to comment on the funding model? don't get me wrong, I'm not defending it, I simply think that experiencing something first allows you to formulate opinions that are worth having, as opposed to watching a few videos that are obviously biased and taking it from them.
@@hedoingitsideways Sooooooo.....my opinion on whether or not a game is something I want to play and financially support is invalid and uninformed until I play the game and support it financially? Let me go buy every game on my wishlist real quick and play them so I can make a truly informed decision on whether or not they're worth buying. Do need to 100% every game to have a fully formed opinion or can I call it good after 20 hours in each game?
I found out that you can earn some colors through in-game achievements by completing some journal objectives. You can also get some emotes and other stuff. Still a bit grindy but fun
I’ve been playing this game and been having so much fun! It’s definitely a lot better to play with friends and I already unlocked bunny for free within a few hours of playing! She is overpowered and so much fun to use!
So glad that guy got his comeuppance the way he did. I couldn’t be bothered to care about the story or any of the characters, but Jeremy… I hated Jaremy.
Iv found the game really fun, don't care for the story really definitely a grind at times but that's how these types of games are. The gameplay loops feels good and I like how they tell you on average how much the missions take. Obviously the cash shop is there to tempt you but stay strong my brother and sisters haha. Hope y'all are enjoying the game as much as me.
I think the core gameplay is a lot of fun. Having a full team absolutely ability dumping into crowds reminds me of diablo. I’m all honesty, if they were to switch to cosmetic only micro transactions and decrease the grind for characters, I’d stick around for the long haul.
What game are you playing??? I played for 1.5 hours last night with a couple lads, had some moderate fun. Hopped on it today with the same group & boy oh boy after completing the 2nd zone, we all came to the same conclusion that the game is stale and boring. The most tedious part was when you would clear out your inventory to make space for new loot only to make space yet again several times during one mission. It is absurd. Not to mention the pay to experience from nexon.
Although I've personally lost interest in Warframe because I just don't have the time to keep up with the ever-expanding grind, I'm still pleasantly surprised on how fair the monetization was in that game.
Same. I love that Warframe doing doesn’t bombard you with spending money. I still play a little like doing the Sortie and when there’s a new Prime and sometimes special events but I can’t keep up with the grind after all the years I’ve been playing
@@damanOts I mean, that's how free2play works. It's the way to add value to buying stuff but also giving players a near endless amount of content to keep them engaged. At least with Warframe, there are ways to earn premium currency (platinum) from other players (at least, last time I played you could).
@@damanOts absolutely not, the mere existence of a player economy allows absolutely anyone to amass an insane wealth in platinum without a massive grind involved
So the first zone is basically a playable tutorial, the difficulty and fun actually ramp up from there. It has a really in depth build mechanic that is unique to every character. It’s a lot of fun, and the story is really silly at times. It’s all kinda tongue in cheek, and played for a laugh it seems. Especially Jeremy.
I am NOT a free to play person. But I actually dig this game. Idk how long I’ll stick around because the monetization is pretty bad. But I think the core gameplay is a ton of fun. That rhymed
The micros aren't really important like "you have to buy or else you cannot play at all" the grind isn't hard just bounce from mission to mission with the required parts and wait for the research time to be done
@@lightningfarronxp8899 I get that. I don’t like fortnite but I do like how they monetize with cosmetics. Like let me buy all the goofy or cool skins I want right? But the game itself should be left untouched. Idk. That’s just me. Some people don’t mind it and that’s ok. I’m playing once human right now and I’m waiting on the f2p stuff to show its head
On your point of difficulty, I wonder then if you unlocked all the zones? There are a couple of fairly steep dif increases once your in the last couple of zones. But one can get to max level on a character prior to even unlocking these areas. And paint locks to the skin so if you put a white on a skin you can add or remove that color on any slot on that piece infinite amount. Other than that, spot on.
I agree with all the sort of negative points Falcon makes here, but I’m finding it incredibly fun, even with randoms. Grinding the resources isn’t so bad using UA-cam to maximise your efficiency.
I've been enjoying this game a lot. 80 hours in and haven't been bored at all. Only thing that irked me is the sound bugging out so you only hear your gunshots and NPCs talking. Soloing hard mode interceptions is tough since I don't follow meta builds. That's one thing I hate doing in games: chasing meta. I play on PC and have Frame Gen turned on and made the experience a lot smoother with it turned on. No stutters.
Same but only 50 hours in. Haven't felt any push to buy anything yet like other games you log in and get two or three pop ups of buy this and that. Going to get the battle pass myself to support the Devs and also get some extra goodies for what 10 bucks. The farming isn't bad either IMO. Most missions are quick to do give good rewards hell people who talk about drops again it's lucky I got some 3% drops first try and done 15 times to get 20% drop it's not bad as gameplay is fun anyway. I love the boss battles lots of fun and each one has their own gimmick, just pick the right load out and good to go some of the later ones might take a couple trys. I love the in-game wiki for finding stuff with ease more of these games needs that system in place.
Okay I rarely disagree with Falcon on this stuff but he obviously didn't make it far into the game because it does get SIGNIFICANTLY harder even before level 100. I admit that it does add to the grind which can be frustrating but the game is free so you can play as long as you want for FREE.
@@99PlasticsI agree with this it seems like that. The game does get alot harder pretty quick, some missions can be rough such as some of the dungeons might take a couple goes unless you had one or two well geared people in your squad who are farming
Gameranx I've been following you guys for more then 10 years now, I was never mad at any of your videos... but this one did, REALLY DID... the game is awesome, everybody deserves a second chance the prices are actually quite fair its only 10 bucks the battlepass like every other game, some skins are 20, 10 or even 5 euros. Its a free game so remember its NORMAL for them to want to make some money somehow.. the game costed money to be created... and you haven't play not even 4 hours of the main campaign if you say "you'll never die" OH YOU WILL TRUST ME, and if you run out of bullets is because you didn't understand the game, don't rely that much on weapons and build you character with modules and increase your skills... you'll see a big difference.. but I guess you people didn't even cared about this game and just made a video out of it to take advantage of the popularity at the moment. I'm really sad to see such a poor done "before you buy" video... very disappointed.
This. I played it after seeing the mixed 50% on steam and was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a f2p guy but I am a looter shooter and a Diablo man. And I think this is a good time
I found it shocking how The Finals has good content that I want to buy and happily spend money on and they never ask for money. Descendant begs for money all the time and has no content and it makes me want to unistall the game. One way works and one way doesn't. Being nice and listening to fans earns you more money.
Agree and they seem to be listening to feedback looking to add features other games took years. It's a good fun game the money stuff is not pushed hard at all, other games you pay full price for every time you login you get two or three pop ups for buy this and that. I dislike the paint stuff but they will be changing that apparently
I've been playing with 2 friends and they way I go about leveling is I basically invested a lot into one character by using the free thingy you get to enhance your Module capacity. I use that one for Void Intercept Battles and when I'm just progressing with the boys, I'm using different Descendants that aren't max level yet. This has worked out for me pretty well so far
"Greg" is a player made nick name for a Lost Sector boss in Destiny that people use to test builds, buffs, weapons etc on. They probably just ripped the name without really understanding what it was
Imagine spending 2000+ hours in 5 months playing just one game. That was me when i played warframe a few years ago. I don't think i will be able to play like that again since the responsibilities keeps piling up. (rip e-gate farming, popular afk grinding spot at that time)
I am actually surprised by this game. Played it for free, enjoyed it and once I finally got the hang of what I was actually doing, decided to buy some skins to support it. I get the "before you buy" thing with actual paid titles but for free games just install and try??? lmao. Also the game is fairly beginner friendly at the start, the grind and possible deaths kicks in about the agna desert or white night gulch part of the campaign i'd say. Also you can earn paint, emotes, and ecive skins etc for free from doing easy challenges like destroying weak points 10 times on a certain collosus etc.
@moeawawda5761 yeah as far as I'm aware, either way the English voices are just a secondary dub language not primary, so voice acting in English is significantly less interesting and feels kinda flat/cheap compared to the Korean voicework
I played Warframe for 7 years, invested more than 4000 hours and maybe $300, and somehow managed to get out of it. Live service games are dangerous because after playing for years it´s very hard to let it go, it´s part of your life, you invest time and sometimes money. After that I decided to stay out of live service for good. Played Nikke for like half a year, but I let that one go as well. I really want to try The First Descendant, but I don´t have time and want to play so many other games
Only difference with this game is that your modifications actually matter. There are soo many different builds that falcon doesn’t even know about cause he’s barely played the game. There’s literally a build you can do that allows you to have almost triple the amount of ammo without sacrificing dps. Pretty cool.
Honestly him claiming that NORMAL mode enemies are bullet sponges just goes to show how absolutely nothing he understands of this game / genre. Sure if you just use any old gun you pick up, don't mod it, don't use your abilities correctly , don't mod your character correctly and don't hit weak points correctly - everything is a bullet sponge. But if you just put in an iota of your thinking cap for like half a second you will learn that this game is extremely easy at the start but ramps up significantly. If you don't build the right stuff you will get owned permanently but obviously Mr. "I have to get this "review" out fast" didn't even try to get to endgame or move past the most basic of bosses / missions. Obviously, just like Warframe you trivialise the content if you grind hard enough and build up your characters into the sun but an extremely large part of the playerbase gets stuck long before they finish the story because they can't move past a boss (the story is locked behind beating the bosses). Frankly, this wasn't as much a review as it was someone playing the game for like ..3-4 hours by the looks of it and then going "AHA I KNOW IT ALL" ...Yes the story is bland, yes the mission design is meh to bad and yes the mtx are insane. Then again, 3 of my buddies playing this game have already unlocked Ultimate Bunny (50-60 bucks your currency to buy) and I currently have 10 characters (8 built, 2 in the works since timers) and I've only splurged on 2 of them because costumes. And what's even crazier is that Nexon (yes those guys) are clearly trying to turn over a leaf, they hotfixed the game multiple times within the FIRST week, address concerns over drop rates, talk about OP builds and whether or not they should exist / be nerfed, listen to feedback (they implemented matchmaking for hard dungeons within like 3 days of ppl spamming reddit "game is ded" because it didn't have PuG'ing for the hard mode dungeons) and just generally seem on a good track (roadmap already released, we have new content releasing almost monthly until the end of year). It's still Nexon, the greedy money-hungry idiots can still royally screw it up, but for now it is a very fun, 100% F2P looter shooter with good graphics, fun combat, great movement and lots of stuff to collect. If you like Looter Shooters and you are fed up with Warframe, this will be your jam.
@@bradkirchhoff5703he claim there was no risk of dying, which means he cleared maybe 4 areas at most. Then he claimed he frequently ran out of ammo only to show himself emptying a full mag on an immune boss, not understanding the most frequently used mechanic in the game (aka the balls)
The thing about earning color pallets through only the battle pass is incorrect. I've been earning them through the awards section where you also unlock the prefix and suffix titles
When you mentioned you there is no fear of dying, that's all I needed to hear. You didn't get past the tutorial section clearly. Thanks for this video, I saw the trailer and it looked stunning, I was hoping for something deeper, but no, typical pay-to-play. You've saved me a bunch of time!
I started playing a few days ago because some friends wanted me to. At the start of the game you're bombarded with a bunch of controls that you have to remember, after that literally nothing else about the game mechanics is ever explained. I mean literally nothing, you're left to fend for yourself to try and figure out everything. The game is so repetitive, the missions are over before you know what you're even doing playing when playing publicly or with friends that are just a few levels higher than you. I can't see most people wanting to play The First Descendant ever again after playing just a couple of hours and you realise what the game actually is going to be like

No it's not. Going from too easy to hard is just unbalanced and a design choice to force players into the cash store and/or grind which also exist for the cash store, a story as old as time for this publisher. Elden Ring is difficult from the first second to the last, and can also be done without ever levelling up with pure skill. It's literally the polar opposite.

I just bought the battlepass coming from destiny but honestly after some time in the game it's not really needed, you will still get battle pass rewards on the free one and can do challenges anyways but if you do buy it it's pretty useful, you get premium currency in the paid battle pass as you level up so pretty worth it There are many things that can be improved but the developers are constantly updating the game based on feedback, they got a good team
@@antikiller3994You can choose to farm ultimate bunny it will take time but definitely possible, you get bunny as a descendant for free as you progress the story alongside 2 more descendants so if you want you can spend that money on something else later on and can play Bunny for free without farming
Been watching your content for years, and I jumped on this game when it came out with some of my buddies, tbh was waiting for you to review it and ofc the wait was worth it. 100% agree with you, I enjoy the game myself and will continue playing to see how it grows
How would spending money make you any stronger? A nice colorful skin? The MTX complaints people have for this game make absolutely no sense. All you can do with money is buy easily farmable crafting, (defeats the entire point of a looter shooter) and skins. Your gear level is locked to your actual progress. Can't get anything stronger than how far you've progressed. Even if you buy a legendary weapon or descendant you are still limited to your gear level. If you use the right gear and unlock a variety of characters, everything is doable. For example, playing anything but Bunny makes Pyromaniac doable (third to last normal mode boss). If you started with Ajax and/or have one in your squad, Pyro is a breeze. Just do the gameplay loop properly. Finish a world, equip all the new best stuff, use weakpoint damage on bosses, check the resistances of Collosi, tanky stats on descendants, scrap everything else, continue. It does get more difficult but it really is just forcing you to properly engage with all the upgrades and mechanics.
@@brendandrummond1739ultimates have better stats the regular descendants. They also come with what you need to enhanced module capacity. You can also buy more mod capacity items for like 20 bucks(highly overpriced) so yes someone who spent money could fit higher level mods at a higher quantity on their weapons and descendants and breeze through the game from start to finish. Only thing they’d need to farm is the material to upgrade mods and from what I hear that is actually very easy to do at a certain point
If you care about gameplay and fun then it's a solid 7, I haven't been hooked in a game for months and tbh The First Descendant is the reason why l've been turning my PS5 after I get home from work lately.
Game difficulty is like Elden Ring without dmg, Animations: cool, World: boring, p2w: big problem because farming stuff isnt worth the waste of time, other players: feels like a league Server, weapons: cool, gun play is ok, skills: feel like a lvl 1 wizard trying to show off
The one thing I really appreciate is the ability to track ANY ITEM in game you want. The game tells you where you can get it directly. And compared to Warframe, this is wayyy less grindy
Ok, I'm watching now. I played the game a crap ton so far and I'm just on watching this and I'm just on the end of my seat. Edit: ok I watched it and this is a very accurate and fair review. I definitely agree with the micro transactions and the thing you said about paints. One thing you missed about the Colossus Is that you can only get the materials once. And then you have to grind for something that's extremely hard to get and has less than 10% chance in any mission that you do to get
You forgot to mention that First Descendant uses a mod system from Warframe with one major difference. - In Warframe to double your Mod capacity you can earn Orokin Catalysts and Reactors in game from special missions or via the battlepass (Nightwave), also Warframe HAS player to player trading. - In First Descendant you get 2 Exchangers (equivalent) from playing through the campaign, the only way to get more Exchangers is from the cash shop, also there is NO trading in First Descendant so the only way to max out gear after the first two is to spend real life money. Also note that the Maple Story fine was for REMOVING ITEMS FROM LOOTBOX DROP RATES without telling the players. Nexon removed the chase item from the lootbox without telling players. Nexon cannot be trusted, plain and simple.
Expecting a free game without micro-transactions is just beyond entitled. Now, if they had a $40 entry price and blocked progression every other hour due to micro-transactions, I'd be right there with you.

Running into a bullet sponge and running out of ammo? Yeah, that's classic ass Destiny right there.
Only difference with this game is that your modifications actually matter. There are soo many different builds that falcon doesn’t even know about cause he’s barely played the game. There’s literally a build you can do that allows you to have almost triple the amount of ammo without sacrificing dps. Pretty cool.
@@jackvolkwyn470 WEll that's fun, but I was mostly just shitting on Destiny for taking away content I already paid for ten years ago.

Nexon has a ton of different groups all over the world so when I hear "A new game by Nexon!": I never know which team was behind it or what to expect. But hey, Dave the Diver was a really good game! I've been playing Nexon games since their very first game: Nexus: Kingdom of the Winds which was one of the first MMORPG's ever created and it's still live today! Crazy!
Once you hit Dead Bride then you really have to build craft. It’s the Elden Ring of looters
@@cenciende9401 You never touched this game and it shows or your just an idiot with eyes that don't work properly lol. No where in the store are you able to buy components, modules, reactors, or any ground weapon that is there to help you progress to grind for ult weapons. If someone can't simply follow a simple route to grind the materials for a ult weapon, then they are just fucking lazy with a extremely short attention span.
Have you heard of remnant 2? This is not the Elden ring of looter shooters
Don’t insult Elden Ring by comparing it to this Korean mtx trash made by a scummy company.
@@cenciende9401it’s not unbalanced thats a lie 😂 you just suck and need to get good and maneuver better take off their armor grapple hook and rip it off learn the boss. Get gud your just 🗑️
Bunny ftw
Don't let Kayne in the zone. Legit got me laughing out loud man. Great video
I have played many nexon games and never got an urge to use real money on them. Just take your time and enjoy the game.
Only thing I kinda wanna buy is a outfit for frey
It's free to play don't buy anything in game just give it a try and if you like it maybe then you can spend some money, it's been really fun playing it personally
Also most of the things in the game are farmable if you do have to spend money cosmetics is one thing not really possible to farm but you still get some cosmetics from the supply shop with supply coins, you can earn by leveling up your season by doing daily/weekly challenges. I just bought the battlepass coming from destiny but honestly after some time in the game it's not really needed, you will still get battle pass rewards on the free one and can do challenges anyways but if you do buy it it's pretty useful, you get premium currency in the paid battle pass as you level up so pretty worth it
There are many things that can be improved but the developers are constantly updating the game based on feedback, they got a good team
yea i want to buy ultimate bunny but i think once i buy it i just quit the game since i dont want any other classes >_>
This video came out while i was installin the game lol😂
Enjoy it bro! It's really fun, and gunplay is addictive..
Yeah after getting towards the 5th World Boss depending if ur free to play you can feel the difficulty jump up and the grind really begins
This IS ANTHEM, without the flying
No 😂 cap 🧢 worlds are beautiful especially the white gulch and the world is never empty ever
0:25 dats what im saying i literary? Said the same thing
Most accurate reviewer hands down. For FTP, it’s a good game with some blemishes like most others.
did i miss the cutscenes? did this guy even leave the sterile lands ."no risk of dying" lol
Nexon is always predatory
Game difficulty is like Elden Ring without dmg, Animations: cool, World: boring, p2w: big problem because farming stuff isnt worth the waste of time, other players: feels like a league Server, weapons: cool, gun play is ok, skills: feel like a lvl 1 wizard trying to show off
The one thing I really appreciate is the ability to track ANY ITEM in game you want. The game tells you where you can get it directly.
And compared to Warframe, this is wayyy less grindy
Warframe grind is harsh but at least it's actually free to play
@@CupidSmurf657 I can unlock every gun, character and all content that is playable. Without paying for it.
Fr, this was a breath of fresh coming from warframe being a warframe vet
@@CupidSmurf657 WF is really hard on new players , IMO that's their biggest downfall
I’m playin it rn
Ok, I'm watching now. I played the game a crap ton so far and I'm just on watching this and I'm just on the end of my seat.
Edit: ok I watched it and this is a very accurate and fair review. I definitely agree with the micro transactions and the thing you said about paints. One thing you missed about the Colossus Is that you can only get the materials once. And then you have to grind for something that's extremely hard to get and has less than 10% chance in any mission that you do to get
If it's a free to play, y'all should call it Before You Try lol
I can tell you didn't play more than 10 hours based on the difficulty comment. It gets pretty damn challenging if you're playing solo.
The whole Gregg bit threw me off 😂😂 3:41
You forgot to mention that First Descendant uses a mod system from Warframe with one major difference.
Nexon cannot be trusted, plain and simple.
you can craft exchangers at the research institute
You know what I love about free games?
If it ends up being garbage, I can uninstall it without feeling any remorse & say I gave it a shot.
Update : this game is sick. Idk if it was just me but this video dulls it down
Expecting a free game without micro-transactions is just beyond entitled. Now, if they had a $40 entry price and blocked progression every other hour due to micro-transactions, I'd be right there with you.
For free games you should call it before you download
