Well that's legitimately the first time I've seen a public bus driver getting pulled over. I bet that doesn't happen very often.
don't think it does, but they're far from innocent, especially with no passengers on board. i was on a bus in sydney once and i think the bus driver thought i wasn't there because he didn't end the trip and started going back to the depot but that's not the point. i witnessed him run multiple red lights and may have been speeding. so much for "professional drivers"

It's actually more complicated than u think. When your light is green u don't expect a car or anything to come across your lane so when suddenly there is, it is hard to make a correct decision. Emergency vehicles are by law supposed to enter a closed intersection (redlighted), at I think 25km/h. Or crawl.
its just not paying attention, or not knowing how to defensively drive and get out of the way properly. "didnt see them" is rarer than shit driver

As an Ambo here in Victoria, I have lost count of how many times I have been blatantly cut off at intersections. That clip was very satisfying. Drive safe people.

While I do keep an eye out for emergency services at intersections, the sirens on VIC ambulances are a lot quieter than the police and fire sirens. A lot of the time you can’t hear them until they’re almost on top of you, especially if you’re surrounded by trucks, especially if the corner is a blind one due to tall buildings or high fences.

Seeing that bus driver being pulled over at the end was like a dream come true for me, so many of them seem to think that they are above the law lol.
Usually they are they have special laws and stuff where they have right of way so can just pull out infront of you and what not
It's quite possible the cops had a lot of complaints, and spent the whole day monitoring buses for infractions. I hear they have different targets all the time, at least in WA

Only from a bus stop. That's the only time you have to give way to a bus. Turning a corner is normal road rules for all.
@@mrrhody7234 that sign on the back that has give way and an image of a bus with an indicator means they actually can pull out and anyone behind HAS to give way, this however has nothing to do with blatantly running a red light which so many of these so called "professional drivers" do.
so the thing is, if a cop pulls over a bus, then he has to deal with the possibility of that driver not being able to continue driving, therefore having to get another driver or another bus to collect passengers which is just a huge headache

Don’t often see a dashcam owner submitting a video of themself being pulled over by the police.
I seen a few but it does give you hope that some people can admit they screwed up and will do better.

Very true.. Most of these dash cam owners break the laws just as much or in similar ways, they just got away with it when these poor guys didn't.
After just returning from 16 years in Asia, it feels so strange seeing actual traffic police doing anything about bad driving.
Other than noticing the occasional speed camera car setup, an hour out of the cities I rarely see traffic or highway Police pulling people over anymore.
@@carpathianken There are very few traffic police on UK roads anymore and year by year the driving gets worse, jumping red lights in particular.
If they wanted to stop bad driving in Asia they would have to stop everyone from driving

@@slimyish Not everyone, but a surprisingly high amount of people (if we don't count Japan and South Korea), mostly due to low level of requirements to get a drivers license. Especially in the 'emerging economies', having a pulse is the biggest requirement, being able to drive is optional.
I just love the sheer joy Aussies have seeing the police catch these drivers....

@@jameswood1935 I don't have the footage of it unfortunately, but I had one pass me one night around 3am, travelling about 90 in an 80 zone. I saw the police from about 300m away but he obviously didn't, and when we went past them they started moving and turned the lights on, haha.

It happens. I was in a cab a few years ago and it was pulled over (RBT, I think). First thing the cop said to the driver was to pause the meter.
As a crusty old paramedic all I can say is that cop at 12:10 did a job well done.

@@GuyWithoutACamera The ambulances are fitted with a powerful bull horn that's much louder than a car horn. Very effective in ensuring people close by who don't notice the bright flashing red and blue lights, noisy siren see you.
@@coover65 I was sure that some states brought out some rubbish law about not using sirens at night? Not 100% on that, but noticed around here that Ambos particularly don't use sirens after dark, and think I remember reading something about it... People were complaining they were "too loud" 🤣
@@chrishorsburgh7054 I can't comment about other states but in Queensland the use of the siren on a code 1 is discretionary. If we need to put it on a 3am then so be it. The firies however just love their sirens. The BRTs put them on from the second they move off to the moment they arrive, irrespective of time of day.

The cyclist is lucky the police didn't fine him for: 1) Cycling on sidewalk as an adult (you are only allowed if you're a child), 2) Crossing a road on a pedestrian crossing on red signal (considered a jaywalking), 3) Crossing a road on a pedestrian crossing while riding on a bike (this is actually a thing, my brother got fined for it)
the worst thing in this video was seeing people refuse to yield to emergency vehicles.

The other night my friend was driving (I was the passenger) at night in the rain, going the speed limit up a hill and a car was right up our ass. My friend suggested he pull over and let them pass but I said no as he was going the correct speed limit. The guy (or girl?) overtakes us on the hill with a blind spot. On top of the hill was a cop on his motorbike waiting. First time I've seen instant karma in the wild. So satisfying!

12:44 A while back I saw a city bus get caught by a police speed check. The driver's facial expression was hilarious as the police has stopped him and fifty passengers were grinning ear to ear... :-)
In high school my bus driver got pulled over and arrested for drunk driving. They had been driving us for months. They always gave me weird vibes and I never trusted them. Their driving was kind of erratic too. I’m just glad no one got hurt and justice was served 😪

A yellow (amber) light means you must stop. You can only go through a yellow light if you cannot stop safely before the 'Stop' line. You should not stop suddenly, and you should not speed up to get through a yellow light. - NSW gov website

The most important thing is how skilled the Police motorcyclists are. I’ve seen British bike cops on BMW twins catch yobs on 1000cc sports bikes because the former can ride their machines on the limit and the latter usually can’t.
FJR1300 are surprisingly nimble for their weight and quite quick acceleration too

But yes, very fair point. FJR1300s are heavy for a bike, but it's still got an insane power-to-weight ratio compared to any car.
I'm going to say it's 99% pointless trying to outrun a police bike, those are some matrix type skill sets seated on them.

@@jamen23 There's nothing that the cop needs to argue about what an amber light means. The meaning of the amber light is that a driver *must stop* unless it is unsafe for them to do so. Australian Road Rules, regulation 57.

I did this before because the car in front of me had been slow at the lights, braking for no reason, on a general dickhead behavior for a long time with no way to get in front of it. So at the first opportunity, I put it behind me and it wasn't my problem anymore.
First of all about time a bus got pulled over I'm so sick of them thinking they can break the road rules all the time. And it's finally good to see that something is done about cars not giving way to ambos I think ambos should have dashcams or number plate readers that save and be fined for the cars that don't move out of the way when they have lights and sirens on.

@@2partiesnotpreferred226 to be fair though if they had to leave with lights and sirens on to an emergency they dont have time to squeeze past some twat in the keep clear area if you're partner was being assaulted you would want the police there asap not as soon as they can get out the depot because its blocked by people waiting for traffic lights the police can use the oncoming lane to get past but not if they cant even get past or have to weave through people in the keep clear zone from what some people have said in other comments its also a joint depot with ambulances aswell and if the cop car has to squeeze out a chunky ambulance aint getting out
@@TheBananaman491 Nah mate total bullshit, the car wasn't blocking anything whatsoever, a meter forward wouldn't have changed a thing at all, plus the cop wasn't responding to any emergency/anything and would've had to wait for the lights to go green to go anywhere anyway, porker just wanted commission from a ticket, as usual. So, use your eyes, pretty easy to identify that that car wasn't blocking anything whatsoever.

You should give emergency vehicles with flashing lights plenty of room, but clearly a lot of people mistakenly think that if they are behind them, it is not necessary to do so.

the rules in my city are garbage, they are meant to be broken
Recently a 17 year old died because he was speeding, the cause was unknown as to why he was going 60+ mph (I have no clue how much that is in K/ph)
I am pretty sure he wasn't drunk as he would have survived hitting another car, but this happened in a 30mph zone and no one would have seen him coming because the city thought it was perfectly fine to have cars park perpendicular to the store front instead of parallel which led to many blindspots and probably would have prevented the accident from occurring between 3 other cars.
now the only safe way out of there is to roll the stop slowly or go 3 blocks away and risk a pileup of cars near school zones.
Full points to the guy who fessed up and posted himself getting nabbed for trying to sneak the amber.

@@johnt.848 Maybe, but it is ultra rare to get a video from the perspective of the person being pulled over. Especially since most cameras don't have a rear view, or like myself, never installed the rear view camera.
When I went got pulled over for allegedly driving through a red light my camera happened to be faulty and didn’t record it. Amazing it just happened to be that one clip on the whole SD card.

Yeah... one might get away with it in court. The other had no chance. The cop chose the right one to go after.
DC driver went through on yellow light. It is a judgment call (by the cop) as to whether it would have been safe for the DC driver to stop. However, other vehicle clearly drove through a red light and almost had a collision - no brainer for the cop to choose which is the worse offence.

How stupid do you have to be to do an illegal u-turn over a painted island when there’s a roundabout 10 metres ahead? They could’ve used the roundabout to turn around legally and no need for a 3 point turn! The stupidity was strong on that one that it makes me wonder how they managed to get a license in the first place.

In south Australia it's basically the wild west. There's never any cops around on the roads now for many years. We must be really understaffed here in SA they are all busy with domestic disputes by methed up brothers and sisters fighting.
Yet all they ever post on their FB pages are pics of people they've pulled over for speeding on roads that have just had their limits cut without reason...and yesterday a whole 9News report about them impounding a P Plater's 1.2l Kia for a tyre squeak (No smoke, no slippage, no over revving)...calling them a burnout Hoon.
Dunno what you're on about mate, I can't drive 20ks to work without seeing at least 7 cops

Driver left the lane change too late - he/she commenced the turn while still in a straight-ahead lane. I fully support police-led education of drivers who do not plan ahead and make potentially dangerous last minute decisions. We don't know whether the driver was fined or just warned.
Nothing against changing lanes in an intersection.

The Road Rules say that if there are marked lanes, then you must use them - not just turn from anywhere
@@AnotherDoug Thanks for clearing that up. I was genuinely confused what he had technically done wrong. Intuitively, it seems a bit obvious that they should have changed lanes sooner but the rules state you can change in an intersection, so I was a bit confused.

Some of the HWP drivers in these compilations are scarily good. They can spot stuff from so far away it’s eerie.
Seeing that first driver get caught was so satisfying. How frustrating is it when one has to turn into traffic and someone has blocked the way after queuing on a "Keep clear" patch of road. And for what - so they can get 10 metres closer to the intersection?
My favourite was the bike going through the red, then finally the cop bike comes. The driver says " go get him. He won't get him" 🤣
And the one when we see the cops coming to pull the car over. I got scared.

So often people drive over double white lines to overtake me when I'm driving at the maximum speed limit as it is.
@@carpathianken Yeah, that is infuriating. My area has those for a reason, the road curves and you can't see oncoming vehicles while passing. I have seen too many close calls, including someone almost hitting a bus head on.
I've never seen a bus pulled over, happiest memory of 2022.
