    "I wonder if this is where it starts."
    The progression in this piece was excellent, both from the organization of ideas and the emotions standpoint. You knew where she was going but she still spoke a truth into you that you didn't quite grasp until now.

    This is VERY IMPORTANT! Mothers of young boys set the tone for a multitude of things. A boy is not in control of his own life and destiny from day one; his mother, who lovingly and selflessly gives of herself to nurture him, always risks giving too much out of exhaustion, and it comes back around as expectation. It's a fine line of providing safety for our boys and being a doormat; of spoiling our children because we just love them so much and spoiling them to become rotten, over-indulgent men. No, it's not all on us as mothers, but there is definitely a pressure that moms can feel at looking at their tiny toddler and hoping they're doing right by raising them to be compassionate, healthy, well-rounded, respectful human beings.
    You word this so well, in how easy it can be to get lost in your baby's eyes when the world reminds you that YOU are responsible for how this "little man" turns out. My heart is with you, mama! Hope your son realizes every day how lucky he is to have you guiding him.

      Indestructible A this isn't beautiful, she is shaming her son and comparing him to a rapist, where's the beauty in that? She is mad that her son is the slightest inconvenience because he needs her and is clingy because he loves her so she decided plaster this image of a horrible person for her past onto her own son as a excuse to justify her not want him, not loving him, and quite frankly hating him with a passion. She said it herself he's a mama's boy, and going by the way she talked about him he obviously loves her, but do you think that she returns any of that love going by the way she talked about him as if he was just another rapist?

      Chris Hernandez you have truly taken my comment way out of context. However you're entitled to your opinion as I am mine.
      Remain blessed.

      Indestructible A but I obviously didn't take her meaning behind the poem out of context did I? If so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but my previous paragraph seemed to sum up the meaning behind her writing decently and clearly

    • @chrishernandez9277

      Germine Museau listen to this why? So we can know every mamas boy is a rapist and that they should be condemned and hated by their mother? Because that's obviously what's shes pushing, her final statement even suggests that she didn't want the child, a child that loves and worships her, just because he flirts a bit, she is plastering this image of a rapist on her son just to try and get revenge on ghost from her past. BUT NEWS FLASH THATS NOT HOW YOU DEAL WITH ISSUES, YOU DONT TAKE IT OUT ON A INNOCENT CHILD, MUCH LESSON YOUR SON, IF YOURE SCARED HE'LL BE A RAPIST JUST TEACH HIM MORALS INSTEAD OF HATING HIM LIKE A PETTY UNFEELING HORRIBLE PERSON, HE ISNT A RAPIST AND IF SHE DOES GER JOB INSTEAD OF JUST COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW MUCH OF AN INCONVENIENCE HE IS MAYBE HE WONT GO DOWN THAT PATH.

      emsyt then please enlighten me on what she is trying to say, I'm willing to listen to a different interpretation, but don't give me this crap that her calling her son a rapist is just some fear of being a mother, that's bs, provide me an actual logical argument of why its moral to run out on stage and call your son a rapist

      D E Z I R E E what's real about this, every son that loves their mama and flirts is a horrible burden to the mother and should be plastered as a rapist because they have "unpunished wandering eyes"? Do you think its okay to treat her son like a inconvenience to her and go out on stage and compare him to a rapist BECAUSE HE LOVES HER. I know for a fact my mother or any good one would be happy to have a son that loves them so much. The only real thing about this is her closing statement " why would I be glad to have one" because she obviously isn't, she doesn't love her son and she is throwing all this hate and blame on her son for some horrible man in her past, does that sound like something any sane mother would do?

    • @Smileydezie
      @Smileydezie 6 років тому +2

      Chris Hernandez everyone's truth isn't easy to hear and this is how she feels and what she's experianced. Motherhood isn't all love and happiness. Every mother has their own horror. Their own fears. Their own burdens and she's being honest about hers. It's not easy to hear but it's what she goes through. And that's real and powerful.

    • @chrishernandez9277

      D E Z I R E E WHAT TRUTH, THAT HER SON IS A RAPIST? BECAUSE AS FAR AS I KNOW MOST RAPIST DONT SHOW SIGNS AT ONE YEAR OLD, AND EVEN IF THEY DID THERE HE HAS TO LIVE WITH HER AT LEAST 17 MORE YEARS OF HIS LIFE, THAT SEEMS LIKE PLENTY OF TIME TO DO HER JOB AS A MOTHER AND TEACH HIM THAT ITS NOT SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE, I MEAN WHAT EVEN MAKES SOME THINK THIS WAY ABOUT HER OWN SON, EVEN IF HE RUNS AROUND THE HOUSE SAYING HE WANTS TO BE RAPIST WHEN HE GROWS UP THERE ARE PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES TO FIX THAT, BUT SHE CONSIDERS EVERY NEED OF HER SON A BURDEN, SHE EVEN SAID SHE DIDN'T WANT TO FEED HIM WHEN HE WAS HUNGRY BECAUSE SHE WAS TIRED, LIKE CRAP THATS NOT SOMETHING A GOOD MOTHER SAYS, MOTHERHOOD IS HARD BUT THATS NO EXCUSE FOR THROWING ALL THIS BLAME FROM SOME ONE IN YOUR PAST ON YOUR SON. SHE ISNT SHARING A FEAR OF HERS, SHE IS PROJECTING ONTO HER SON THE IMAGE OF A HORRIBLE PERSON FROM HER PAST TO TRY AND JUSTIFY HATING HER SON AND TO FEEL LIKE SHE CAN FINALLY GET REVENGE ON HER RAPIST

    • @Smileydezie
      @Smileydezie 6 років тому +2

      Chris Hernandez I don't know why you are upset at me ? I didn't write the poem. I just appreciate her truth & honesty. It's sad but it's real. Many women don't recover from rape and have their fears. She is just sharing hers. I'm sorry you are upset. But this is not your story and you are not her.

    • @chrishernandez9277

      D E Z I R E E I'm mad that you support this idea of punishing the son for something he didn't do and putting all this hate on him that he didn't deserve, I know this is not my story but what she is doing is wrong, she doesn't get to blame her son and quite frankly you don't solve one evil with a another, but obviously its not getting through to you so I'll just stop because you refuse to see the moral issue of going on stage and announcing your sweet loving child is rapist

    amazing delivery and stage presence, wow! Tbh Her "poetry" is not good at all, but her speaking is brilliant. In fact the terrible Prose and nonsense words (as a successful writer and artist/creative academic myself, I'm complimenting her, eh I'm just not the one lying or patronising her ... ) Her Strength is her amazing delivery , she would be a brilliant actor, and speaker for so manyy different things, obviously I can't see her range but she has an acting background..
    Cause she is no writer. She is no Simone debeauvoir (who was a genius) or even any half way decent modern Poet lol.
    (Oh, but she IS better than Tracey Emin, I'll say that! Lol... Another BS "artist"... Aka "post modern" con artist ..)
    But us writers need speakers and she is so good at it. I wish I could butt her confidence in a bottle! So much presence.... Let's be honest, that's her true gift. So much stage professionalism and power. Everyone who can't see what I see, must be over looking her real talents... it's not poetry but stage presence and delivery that makes her so watchable. Subtle yet powerful , and good projection of her voice
    And PS I'm here cause I hate mamas boys! Oh man I know how shit it is... But you can't tell your man that he is one , lol, cause it🙄 only "confirms" his mama saying you're a "bad woman" right?🤔😫😣 She will twist it first chance she gets.
    How many of us good /decent/ strong women have lost a potentially good man to his co dependent Narcissistic mother? 🤤😑🤨
    ;( Tragic.... 😪😫

    What is wrong with her? She is comparing her son to a rapist and child molester because he is "a mama's boy" because is needy and flirty at ONE YEAR OLD. YEAH HE IS A MOMS BOY AND YOU KNOW "WHY YOU SHOULD BE GLAD TO HAVE ONE", BECAUSE THAT CHILD LOVES AMD WORSHIPS YOU, NOT EVERY IS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A CHILD, BUT NO HE IS A HORRIBLE PERSON BECAUSE HE NEEDS YOU AND IT BURDENS YOU THE SLIGHTEST BIT. HE IS A CHILD, ALL CHILDREN ARE NEEDY AND PART OF BEING A PARENT IS TAKING CARE OF THEM, HE IS NOT USING YOU AND FLIRTING WITH WOMAN FOR SEX LIKE YOUR RAPIST. YOU DONT GET TO PUSH THAT ON HIM. YOU DONT GET TO BLAME YOUR OWN SON OR SAY YOU DONT WANT HIM BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU AND NEEDS YOU... You know maybe the man that took advantage of you was a mama's boy, but she probably rejected his love so he had to force himself on others to try and fulfill the hole in his heart for his own mother not reciprocating the love, sorta like you're doing to your son right now.

      Okay are you done? Because you are speaking nothing but assumptions. I appreciate your opinion of the piece but you're speaking like you know how that woman raises her son. "You dont get to blame him, or say you dont want him." She isn't even saying all that. Who are you to think she doesnt love her son? This piece couldn't even be about her but a friend. Youre whole last two sentences too are justifying her rapists actions "maybe he didn't have anyone to love him?" who cares? You don't take that choice away from someone else.

    • @chrishernandez9277
      @chrishernandez9277 6 років тому

      Jasmine Pruitt um the very last statement she said that she why would she want a mamas boy? So just because her son is a mamas boy means she has the right to say she doesn't want him? Is that something a good mother would say? And I'm not justifying a rapist, I'm merely stating if he was a mama's boy like her son, then there was something in his past to make him act out, I never once said it was justified, just maybe after his suffering he was able to justify himself, and I don't think its right to put that same kind of pressure on her son, but honestly I don't want an argument, I was having a bad day and used this as a vent, I have nothing against her or her writing just at the time I felt that the premise of it was morally wrong
