Doug has always been a bigger fan of understated all go no show cars. The rs6 lets you know that it’s fast whereas something like a n e63 wagon would look like any old station wagon to the uninitiated.

AN D1 It’s a large gas guzzling car in the US as well. 17 mpg combined is horrible mpg for a wagon. SUVs like the Highlander Hybrid are now doing 35 mpg.
I had the same thoughts. I remember when a Civic used to be a compact car, now it's the same size as the Accords of the 90's which at the time was a mid-size car (Accord used to be a compact car back in the day) and is now a full-size car.. Bigger bigger bigger...

The RS6 is an impressively fast high performance car which also has perfect utility and which drives and handles like NO OTHER stupid SUV on the market. Of course it's kind of a "gas guzzling car", if you drive it dynamically in sports car style. But this is only one side of this car.
WTF are you talking about a silly "Highlander Hybrid"??? This vehicle is a NOTHING compared to an almost supercar like the RS6.
This latest tech V8 engine also has 48 volt mild hybrid technology and of course you can get some decent fuel consumption with this car, if you want it! You certainly aren't forced to drive it in gas guzzling style all the time.
It's time for everyone who said they would buy it, to actually buy it.

The key to Doug's success is his ability to get as excited about a car as a 13 year old who has never driven and imagines that adulthood is going to be awesome everyday.
And the fact that he genuinely prefers quirky weird cars to the latest and greatest super/hypercars. Yet he can still nerd out to anything he reviews. Truly a car enthusiast in and out in it's purest form.

Doug missed a huge quirk: the headlights are from A7 and not A6 in order to make it look wider
Actually they are used because the A6 lights can't be laser, which is an option in A7 and A8 only. Thus they ditched the whole A6 front in order to give maximum options in the ultimate wagon.

The A6 and RS6 actually have a feature where they sense cars coming and turn off the exact laser that would shine directly on those cars. It all happens in real time. It's great.

edit: The base price for the RS6 in Denmark is actually about $310,000 - at the time I wrote the comment, we didn't have prices available to us on Audi's official website.

Cars in Denmark are just extremely expensive. If you buy a completely new Audi R8 V10 it’s gonna cost you $540,000.

seriously, why do headlights get brighter and brighter, as someone wearing glasses, it's really annoying
lennartjakob because when you have 22 inch wheels you need to see every pot hole in detail.
The point of the laser headlights is that they direct the light automatically away from oncoming traffic by way of magic (google the way it does it I ain't a scientist). No idea if it's a gimmick or if it's true, but that's what the point is. BMW and Mercedes use their own variations of laser as well. I guess it does work as I've never experienced being blinded by a new german car in the dark yet it's always a japanese crossover with LEDs that destroy my vision. Just a personal observation.
Finally, a 130k car...everybody was crying for it im sure.

The Interior is not even compatible, E63 has one of the nicest interiors in the game, sound system is better, steering feels nice, it's faster, exhaust sound noise is nicer.. Iunno I'd take the E63
@@rcsay4069 while the Mercedes interior definitely look more premium, it is well know for Mercedes interiors to be creaky on various panels, while Audi has one of the best built interiors out there, and for me, i'll take looks any day over a little bit quicker of a car. But anyway I dont like wagons. My dream car is the Rs7, which for me still looks miles better than a gt63.
Missed a massive point related to steering that is has rear wheel steering. Turns in the opposite direction from front wheels at low speed to give it better maneuverability, and turn in the same direction as front wheels at high speed for better stability

Well in all reality even though Doug almost had an orgasm reviewing this car, there are only maybe 3 people in whole US who would drop 130k to drive around the best station wagon on the market..
It depends on how many Americans will purchase them. If it's a selling disaster and Audi decide not to bring out any RS avants after this in the US market, it won't go down in value really fast as it'll be the ONLY RS avant that is US legal.
