That was by far one of his easiest solos to play between Animal Magnetism, Blackout and Love at First Sting, almost every single song he composed a solo (let alone his fills) on, from these 3, were a lot stronger and more difficult than RYLAH, and got swept under the rug because of this song. Not a bad solo however, brings out the strongest of the Scorpions more studio polished songs over rawer ones.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVED the scorps, especially in 1984 when "Love at First Sting" came out, but as much as I loved Matthias' writing and playing, I really don't think he was a clear "top 3" guitarist. Here's the others he'd have to compare to at that time: Eddie Van Halen, Jake E Lee, Warren DiMartini, Tommy Shaw, Angus Young, Vivian Campbell, Richie Blackmore, Brad Gillis, Neil Schon, Mick Mars, Phil Collen ... quite a few stacked up that probably match or exceed him.
Jake E Lee and Eddie Van Halen >>> agreed! The others, not a match in terms of feeling and creativity. But maybe on technicality which was the skill most of the others considered "super-heroes" were relying on to be somehow different...
Um, nothing live about that playback.....that comes straight off the media, which is a shame, cuz the Scorps were one of the great bands live. They could reproduce their album sound.
