Oh my gosh, thank you so much for explaining why you aren't using a fresh spot of the facecloth on the torso and arms/legs. My class used the Hartmann videos and the video said to use 2-4 facecloths AND to make sure you only use one section for each stroke, not differentiating between face and other parts and I've been WRACKING my brain trying to figure out how on Earth you use 2-4 facecloths to wash and rinse AND not use a section more than once on the whole body. LOL. I'm in Massachusetts, which maybe has different rules, but since you specified "yes, one section on the face parts and no, not just one section on these others parts" it makes me think we have the same expectations in that regard. You have SAVED my brain. I could cry. LOL.

Can you walk away with the bed in high position? Or would you fail the skill for that? Such as walking away to wash rinse and dry the basin or putting away supplies?
So I keep seeing all of your videos that you walk away from a bed that is in a high position. My CNA instructor told me that I failed instantly if I walked any more than an arms like the way from a bed. Is this true? Or can you walk away from a bed that's up as long as you put it down at the end of the scale? I'm in Massachusetts if that matters.
Hi all. If we are providing peri-care right after our partial for our skills testing, does anyone know if we put the clients clean gown on before we start peri-care or afterwards?
Hi, Lauriejeremic84! Each skill is performed independently. You must fully complete one skill before starting on your next skill. If you are testing under Prometric, you will be required to perform opening procedures before each individual skill.
Hi, Marie! For Prometric, you should collect 5 washcloths: 1-Face; 2-washing of behind the ears, neck, torso, flanks, arm, hand and underarm; 3-rinsing of behind the ears, neck, torso, flanks, arm, hand and underarm; 4-wasing of back; and, 5-rinsing of back. Hope I answered your question!

Follow the video for state testing, but I have a few tricks I use at a hospital! State testing and where you start working can have different techniques. Again, follow her steps for the actual testing! Always have a draw sheet (basically just a shortened flat sheet) that lies under the patient so that when you pull the sheet towards you the patient shifts with it, therefore, you can also turn the patient as well as scooting them closer to in case they cannot help you turn. Some patients can’t even move their arm let alone turn over and hold a side rail for you! Another tip is to just bring two blankets and a new sheet (usually I just replace the entire bedding; fitted sheet, pillow case etc). Remove the old blanket and place in soiled bin. Use one clean blanket to cover while bathing and one to replace their old blanket. Instead of fiddling with the gown and sheet just untie, untuck (from under their buttocks or back) and unbutton the gown but leave it in place. Place the bath blanket over them and then remove the gown and flat sheet completely while maintaining privacy. No need to have a flat sheet over them while you have a blanket covering! Also, look into how to wash a patients hair that is bedridden! Hospitals have rinse-less shower caps you can use that work well for total care or bedridden patients. I know of techs that actually wash their patients hair with water, haven’t gotten that advanced yet!
Hi, Badyaya5392! No, this video is for Prometric. Person Vue and Credentia has a "Modified Bed Bath" skill. If you test under Credentia, you should watch my training videos in the "Pearson Vue/Credentia" playlist.

Now love been withdrawn from work until l take the written exam l can't work. I was so hopeful that l wouldn't pass the written exam. I'm out of a job. Basically Care provided by the nurse 12.0 - Role of Nursing Assistant 9.00 - Provide specialized care to residents 6.00 - Promoting the function and health of residents 6.00 - Safety Promotion 4.00, those were the results of the writing, the Practical was excellent. Wait, I'm confused. I just took the CNA class (in Washington state) and we were taught (and it's in our booklet) that this skill only tests washing the face/arm, and that it's performed on a live person. Is it different for washington, or will I need to wash their torso/back when I take the test next week?
So do we get to do this in class? I’m starting my PCT program tomorrow and I’m so excited. My first class is all online then I get to do both in person and online for 8 months 😊
Hi, Megan! I'm excited for you! Good luck with your training! All instructors train differently, so I cannot tell you what to expect! But, yes, you should receive hands-on skills practice.
Hi, Kerrigan! No, because you are required to only clean the face, neck, behind the ears, the torso, one arm, hand and underarm, and the person's back. You will need to place a towel under the person's head, the arm you are going to clean, and behind the person's back.

@@NURSEJAR okay great. Thank you ☺️
I take my exams tomorrow Nurse Jar in NY state when doing a partial bed bath do you have to put a bed protector under the mannequin buttocks?
Hi, Kerrigan! No, because you are required to only clean the face, neck, behind the ears, the torso, one arm, hand and underarm, and the person's back. You will need to place a towel under the person's head, the arm you are going to clean, and behind the person's back.

Hi 👋 Mrs Reynolds one question.
What about the left arm? I shouldn't wash it? Thanks you 😊
Hi, Tere! No. The skill requires you to wash one arm only, if you test under Pearson Vue.
I live in El Paso Texas and as far as I know I'm going to test under Prometric

Your audio wasn't loud enough on the video
Hi, Allett! Thank you for your input. I try to do the best I can with the equipment I have. Hopefully, you are able to get the jest of how the skill is performed visually. Sorry about the poor audio quality in this video.
