I take you live hunting at the thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, garage sales, on Facebook Marketplace scores, etc. to add more games to the collection. At my local Savers, the employees who stand outside and take donations have told me that there are 2 employees who do the pricing inside, gobble up all the games and hoard for themselves. He said I would be flabbergasted by how much good stuff and expensive games are donated and that only 5 to 10% of the games donated actually make it to the shelves. This explains why I can't ever score a game that's worth more than $5. I went everyday for a year, sometimes twice a day, and rarely scored a game.
With as many copies of Mario Kart and Wii Sports sold, you'd think I'm come across a copy here or there. Nope.
GoodWill and other thrift stores have gotten smart to video games too, and often resell online now. It's tough to find a good deal at a thrift store.
Similar at all my local 2nd Avenue Thrift shops. A few resellers befriended the workers and now they hold all video game related items for those resellers. I've had great luck at garage sales though.

OP does not surprise me. At any of these stores if you see a 20 something or 30 something-year-old male working there you might as well just turn around and walk out. They will have taken the good deals. Most of the time.
@@WilliamSmith-ex9et I’ve seen some (while working) request to buy some of the games/consoles while the other staff say “we aren’t supposed to do that but I’ll set it aside this one time”. Happened with a PS4 console, games, and More that were just put out onto the shelf last week.

I have seen some XBox 360, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 games at my local Value Village (run by the same company as Savers). Occasionally, I might see an XBox or PlayStation controller among the small electronics.
Generally, the best places to look for old games and old game systems are pawn shops. However, pawn shops typically charge much more. One near me has a sizable collection of games, systems, and peripherals for the NES, Super NES, Genesis, and Master System.
I usually don't see old games in thrift stores, but a few months ago at my local Value Village, I found a pair of Atari 2600 paddles, which worked perfectly with my Commodore VIC 20!
Oh wow! Pawn shops near me aren’t good at all. Most of the time they have connections to people who resell the games for them or they post the stuff online. I’m still hoping my thrifts start to have more old stuff!

I find some ok deals at Savers in Riverside CA but I’ve totally given up on Goodwill in California.

Long time fan of the R&C series! Oooh, Alice huh? Must've made Jenn's gamer sense ring with that one.
I liked the first Jak game but didnt care for the direction they took the series after it.
Lady Laci played through L.A. Noire; it was fine, nothing special, but fun to see something different from the norm at the time.
Oh I’m sure she has to know! I thought of her immediately! And I loved it! Maybe it was the time though. Nice and refreshing from some of the other games.
There is still deals to be had but you need to be very consistent, great pick ups! Love the PS3

Alice is an excellent game! Originally it also gave you the first Alice PC game from the 90s but I think that's no longer functional. Might want to check though.

I also think the problem is that there is more people doing this so deals are harder to come by as now I’m sure there are 5-6 people looking at the same places you are and just a matter of timing of who gets it first
Definitely. It’s changed so much over these past few years!
99.9% of the time here, locally, I never find any games or gaming stuff at thrift stores (especially Goodwill). And if I do, it’s 1 really messed up Wii game and nobody would want (some shovelware fitness game). It’s possible to find silver and gold, yes, just not here more than once every other year 😂.
What idiot donated Alice? Wow! That’s a $25 to $50 game depending on Xbox / PS3 and condition. (I got mine last year for $22) ❤ (and Spec Ops! Wow! Good find. Watch my full review on that from about 4 months back. You’ll have fun.)

It really is hit or miss and just got to keep going and when you see those deals grab em all.
I made the mistake of passing on 3 GameCube CIB box games like Sonic, Rayman and Need for Speed 2 and did score on WarioWorld so there is that. Moving forward especially with Goodwill selling all games for 3.99, Id the value is at least 3 times what I purchase it for, just get it

Wow! You really scored big by going to the thrift. All those PS3 games are bangers! With Alice Madness Returns, hopefully you can download the first game, American McGee's Alice, from the title screen.
