The Nintendo is one of my favorites to collect for! I love exploring new games for the system and reliving those childhood memories from the ones I played growing up!
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is an 8-bit home video game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. First released in Japan as the Family Computer (or Famicom) in 1983, it was later released in North America in 1985 and Europe in 1986. The NES is credited with revitalizing the video game industry following the video game crash of 1983.
The system featured a distinctive gray and black design with a front-loading cartridge slot, and it used a rectangular controller with a directional pad, two action buttons, and Start/Select buttons. The NES library includes many iconic games such as "Super Mario Bros.," "The Legend of Zelda," "Metroid," and "Mega Man."
The console's success was bolstered by innovative marketing strategies and partnerships with third-party developers. Its influence is seen in many aspects of modern gaming, and it remains a beloved classic among retro gaming enthusiasts.
This is a new series!! Join me every so often and follow me on my videogame collecting journey. I take you live hunting at the thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, garage sales, on Facebook Marketplace scores, etc. to add more games to the collection. This starts with one trip to the thrift store and grows from there. Watch to see where this leads and the AMAZING finds I score!!

River City Ransom is one of my favorite NES games of all time. It’s one of those games I feel like I’ve bought at least five or six times on different systems. The game plays just about perfectly, and it’s even more fun to play 2 player. Anyone who likes River City Ransom is OK in my book. Subbed !

Me and my sisters played the crap out of Dodge Ball when we were kids. It was super fun and addicting. Miss those days

River City Ransom and Startropics are both amazing. I need to track down RCR for myself soon, i love it to bits. This is a really common one but not many people talk about it, Rescue: The Embassy Mission can be beaten in like ten minutes but it's a fun ten minutes, it eventually turns into an fps before..fps's were really a thing :D

It’s definitely one of my all time favs. Some great games you showed off here Brandi. You and I need to talk about this NES collecting though. Star Tropics is worth a play. I rented / beat it a weekend or two (never owned it). I still have fond memories of that one.

River City Ransom and Super Dodgeball, the Kunio games, exist in the same universe as River City Girls. And ALL are fantastic.
StarTropics is great as well. I had an extra letter and I sent it to Captain Algebra when he needed it.😊

I borrowed Solar Jet Man from one of my buddies in grade school. It was fun for a while but I couldn't stay interested in it.

One of my other buddies in grade school had Air Fortress. It was fun. It does indeed get challenging later on, something like Fortress 5 or something like that.
Scott and I started playing River City Ransom and really enjoyed it but we felt a little bit out of our deaths so we wanted to look some stuff up. Excited to get back to that one eventually.
As for dodgeball, I'm a child of the '80s so that's the only way we played. It was to the death 😂😂😂😂

@@stevetrevor2633 I work a full time job. I went to college and worked hard to get where I am now. Budgeting is key too. The sooner you can pay off debt/bills the more money for extra items. Also hunting for deals and paying less than retail value is key.

"no better time than now" What? You must have a really good occupation to procure a lot of these very expensive games. I thank the lucky stars above that I started collecting in the early 2000s. Yes, I even picked up Little Samson for $50. You're going to spend over $2000 for that title and several others?

Mega Man 3 & 4, Zelda 2, Star Tropics, Blaster Master...
Some of my NES favorites that I can remember off the top of my head at the moment.
Oh absolutely!! Mega Man is great! I have the full set of those. Definitely have to play Blaster Master again as it’s been a while! Yes!
