The interior in my 9-3 still looks like new, but I'll try this on my 9-7X. One of the reasons I bought it was because it was the only one I could find without half the buttons worn off. A few of them could use attention though.
Bro my wife 2016 x4 the air conditioner on and of button is peeling I did what you did. It came out good. I just cleans some of the loose coating and practice on an old part I had laying around. It came out good thanks for the idea. I went to Micheal’s and they have so many markers. I got one made my sharpie not the regular market it was oil base. Thanks again
I have the exact same pen and it works great, temporarily, on the black buttons of my Ham radio handheld unit. The only problem is that it wears off after a few day. I will try multiple coats this next time to see if the longevity is improved.
@@AutoAutopsy How about a clear sealant? What's good to try? I detail for fun and don't want someone disappointed from needing a quick re-do? I really appreciate u sharing the pen solution BTW😊
Huge help.....TIA.... O7 Audi and I've replaced the driver button pad once due to electrical but the console and other door window buttons now don't match.... gonna give this a try and hopefully won't have to do a full interior wrap just yet.....lol
My 2008 9-5 hasn't experienced button peel yet. What I was wondering if it would be wise to put some sort of flat enamel on the buttons as a preventative measure? Do they have a clear pen?
I wouldn’t worry about that too much just be glad that it still runs and that you can get parts for it for a couple more years. I’m sure you won’t be doing any car karaoke with Jerry Seinfeld. This is what happens when GM takes over a dying multi military/automaker that doesn’t know which direction it’s heading. Even there name was weird. Just drive it and enjoy what’s left of it for maybe a few more years or till the next weird mechanical issue that will arise. I would buy a automotive towing plan to help you in the future.
Awesome! Going to try this on my 9-3 Aero which has a few minor worn buttons - thanks alot, I was thinking about to ordering a new button set when your video came up 😂
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately on my 06 9-5 the radio unit buttons are worn to the point where ill probably have to paint them Flat black and just draw on new symbols with a fine tip white paint pen lol. Or stickers? We'll see.
I know what you can do but it will not be cheap.. Get leather door handle covers! I know it's a lot of money but you will so satisfied when opening and closing the door!
The exhaust is DONE on the Turbo X!! Head over to my instagram @Auto.Autopsy where you can here the first start 😈🇸🇪
Yesssssss
WOOHOO. Don’t have Instagram. BUT I CANT WAIT!!! I bet it sounds AWESOME
What’s the link

Good luck!
Mercedes fans take note. My ES 350 has this issue.
rip :(
No it doesn’t. Ive seen the e350 and no peeling. God get a life
Yep! All of the buttons on my 08 Lexus ES 350 have started peeling. eBay has the decal sticker but it’s darker and doesn’t match. 😔
My E 350 is doing this! And that’s exactly why I’m here
2018 e300 door lock button peeling

They might; you can check amazon!
My 2011 9-5 Aero has a similar issue but only the start stop button and the heated and cooled seats.
Hmm

Nice :) lol
If you're lucky enough to have near perfect buttons... how about giving them a thin coat of clear paint lacquer or nail varnish lol
Not a bad idea
Wonder if a layer of Mod Podge might do the trick as well
Honestly until i saw the Pen i thought it was just going to be a "joke" video and it was a regular old sharpie 😂
lol
What if the peeling is on the picture though
thanks for this!!!
:)
can you get a chrome one?
What if the lettering is faded
Worked for me. Thanks!
Great! :)

stickers are another great alternative
They have stickers to go over the buttons now you can buy on some of these videos
yeah i've heard it's not the easiest to replace but could be wrong!
I'll try this in my honda fit, wish me luck
"good luck"
Do you have any clue if any kind of saab glass headlights aftermarket exist? The plastic ones always get foggy
Probably not; and if there are, they're definitely expensive as hell!
super clean car
thank you :)
Have a 2009 Audi tt that is doing the same. So stupid.
Any idea what to do about peeling door handle? My 2012 9-3 is already starting to peel
I know what you can do but it will not be cheap.. Get leather door handle covers! I know it's a lot of money but you will so satisfied when opening and closing the door!
Not sure if the pen will work there :(
Very cool!!
Thanks!
I need this pen I have so many interior buttons that are peeling
Buy it! lol
my dads climate control button was scratched on his e36/7 m roadster. a replacement switch is £80. if i do this i will save so much money

Thank You
Hey! Thank you for the videos! Where I can find that marker in 2021? :D
from the same spot lol
@@AutoAutopsy the product from your link is unavailable… Maybe you have another link ?
How long does it last?
A year or two at least
OHHH YEAHH
:)
bruh Not recommended for: vinyl, polyethylene, polypropylene plastics, or lexan.
works fine for what i need it on.
Worth a punt 😅
Would have liked a close up of the after.
Sorry!
after taxes 13 bucks for a pen
Are you complaining? This video is years old. Blame inflation! 😂
the only cars i've ever seen with peeling buttons are GMs...hmmm
Smh :(
junk the saab is a better idea
that's actually a shitty idea, bruh.
can you use this for any car?
