As a huge fan of Castle Building in the game, this video has been a blast to make! Let me know where your favorite base locations are and if I was able to include them! As always, follow me on Twitch if you wanna hangout! 👉 www.twitch.tv/kaganath
Glad to see my two bases that I've picked so far for public servers are also your favourites (Farbane bottom left, and Silverlight top left). As a fellow base builder enthusiast, this was a great video.
we had a clan in the last base spot we got raided after the the opponents learned you could place golems in a corner spot just outside the claimable plot. 14:20 so basically when he hovers over the claim you will notice a small space at the bottom of the claim on the map to the left of it people are able to raid from that spot and it took us by surprise. it's very difficult to defend against a raid from that spot unless your base was designed with that spot in mind. cause if you walled to the border limit you have to remake your base to get to there if you don't have a pathway from the inside and you can't rebuild it into a doorway for yourself to defend once the siege golem hits your base to my knowledge.
I just went through your channel, that editing is sick! Would love to see you utilize the 3D camera with that style, but it's probably gonna be hard to get used to it for PVP.
Need a video on like simple ideas for a castle layout. For some reason I just can't beat the game cause i get so anxious on how to make a nice looking or efficient castle
Appreciate the suggestion, I've actually been thinking about that for a while now but I haven't tried going hard on the PVP side of things so my efficient bases are only suited for PVE at the moment. However, this video might come to fruition in the future!
Ok, I have a question, on the last location, how do you build it? I haven't played much of Gloomrot yet, only got a half done lvl 4 castle in the 06:40 location and I have been wondering, can you place more than one heart in the same territory? Because that location at the end with 3 territories in one, won't be able to be covered with only 460 slots...
You can't place more than one castle heart in a single territory but tile limit if I'm remembering right can get to a maximum of 600 if allowed on the server settings, and floors can go up to a maximum of 6 levels. If you're still lacking in tile count, I'd recommend going over this post from the V Rising subreddit. Some really passionate castle builders post here a lot and this one in particular talks about creative ways to layout your base so that might give you some idea. The style that I like to use based on this post is what he calls the campus approach so you might want to give that a shot. There's also another layout that I like from the Gloomrot trailer where they leave an open space in the middle with tall buildings on the side connected by multi-floor bridges going across the territory. Some of these bases make me wish I could RP. Hard to find someone to play with in general though, even if you do you guys only play once for a few hours then you never see them again. Wish I could get my wife off WoW and onto this game
Got my girl on this game right before the Gloomrot update, and again after. We're now looking forward to the full release and it's been a great bonding experience. We didn't do much PVP though but I'm hoping to get into that at full release.
@@Kaganath I got V Rising from my boyfriend for women's day this year (it went on a discount on Steam) and it scratched so many of my gaming itches, some of them I didn't even know I had. We are having a blast playing together. He goes out and kills bosses and farms resources while I build and optimize our castle and hunt for high bloods to drain/turn into servants. The full release cannot come soon enough. We are hoping to have a few of our friends join our private PvE server.
@@yoricade Really glad you guys are enjoying this game! The full release can't come sooner, especially with what they're teasing in the dev updates. I'll be making more videos on this game once it's fully out.
i love the location on top of the mountain in the farmlands a real shame you cant modify the various stair cases. kinda takes away from the experience. the main reason why the large area towards the center with the pond and the waterfall beats it. atleast for me
One of the few things I miss from the old version was the no limitations when it comes to staircases, but it is what it is. That tile system had a ton of other problems so I'm still happy with the update!
Do you have a build at the first farbane location you mentioned? I decided to put a 3rd castle there, for fun. But now that I'm there I'm lacking inspiration, despite the scenery.
We used to have our main base on the top part of the waterfall, and then at the bottom I built a church with a hidden dungeon and a crypt for our servants. I think you can see a little bit of the build in my V Rising Tips and Tricks video uploaded right before this one, although I wasn't able to fully realize the vision. I'm very happy with our latest base in my recent Brutal Mode playthrough though! (also up on the channel)
Is it possible to build your first base in the Gleaming Meadow? I know Palora the Faewalker is there, but its just such a beautiful place id love to build my base. I havent been able to find ANYONE talking about living there? Pls help
lol that's funny. Not sure why you see that on your end, mine says 180 likes and 0 dislikes as of now, but it might be a youtube issue or an extension issue.

Thank you, bottom left Farbane holds a special place in my heart from pre-Gloomrot. Glad you enjoyed this!

Thanks for making the effort for this video. It was helpful.
Oh wow, super informative and well done video ^ ^ thank you! you gave me something to think about my editing. Keep up!

@@Kaganath yes i will defenetly do stuff and i want to include more ad after effect. Thank youuu
The one on top of the mountain looks rly interesting and is near to 2 endgame areas in full realese
That base is really large too which is pretty convenient.
Correct priorities.

@@Kaganath Yeah, but you still need to spend some slots to link those buildings together no?
That's correct

How do you get the lower camera angles when doing the video?
I used a mod called ModernCamera. It's a pretty cool way to re-experience the game!
Great video! I will try a few of them next time. Can I ask how can you use those camera angles? is tat a mod or sth?
It's a mod called ModernCamera, should be pretty easy to install!

Sadly you can't build on Bosses or NPCs areas. It would be problematic for the boss to respawn there and for other players to kill them.
I would like to make a castle in the darkest and Creepy place in the game
Gloomrot North side has been that place for me, with the dead trees and the constant storm.
How come the video has got 9k views and 12k likes?
