Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on the most common writing mistakes when writing your children's book helpful. Here's to your very own story.
Excellent advice, Eevie. One small caveat when using true-rhyme and near-rhyme wording is being aware of argot and accent. In some parts of the world, the word "past" is pronounced "p-ass-t" others pronounce it as "p-ah-st" [that's how I say it], others say "p-ess-t". A writer might fall foul of an accent accident if writing for publication in a different nation. I live in Australia but I will publish in USA and UK, too. Thus, choosing the better, all-round compatible word rhyme is paramount for understanding. On that note, meanings of words vary dramatically internationally, so be cautious of assumptions that your real intention is what is being implied, and not that the unrealised meaning has been inferred. Sorry, I went into lecture mode again. I love your work!
I made the changes my editor suggested and now, for "Eevi-magic". Thank you for showing me how to create a strong and passionate story by becoming aware of ineffective mistakes I can so easily avoid. It encourages me to keep working until these books are published. Appreciate all you do!
I am writing and illustrating my first children’s book and I have found your videos so helpful! I just ordered your book “How to Self Publish a Children’s Book”…I know it will be an invaluable resource! Thank you and God bless you!
Absolutely! And I received your book…it is so helpful already! I especially love the roadmap…it will keep me on my toes and help me reach my goal! Thank you so much! You’re a treasure!
