Three magic words, "Read it again!" won't happen unless the adults bring the book to the child. Thanks for this timely reminder about writing to our dual markets. Appreciate all you do!
Very useful information! We usually assume that a book should only appeal to children. So important to keep both audiences in mind. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Thank you, Eevi -- yes, super important to appeal both to the adult (purchaser of the book) AND to the child (who the book is for). Vital to keep that in mind when writing, illustrating, and marketing the book! 😊👍
This is SO helpful!! I've been studying about and writing children's books for 8 years. Of course, I'm aware of the dual audience but I have never heard it put together in such a clear, concise way. This is helping spark new ideas at a time when I am very stuck. I'm so happy I discovered you here. I will be a loyal follower!
Thank you so much, Eevi! I thought I had already considered the children's wants and tastes combined with the adult buyer's search for value/s but you did bring up great points I had not yet considered. I love all your wonderful insight and input. Your book is fantastic! I know I would still not be where I am today with my first foreign language learner book.
Hi Eevi, This is a great video because it calls out something I had not fully considered with my own children's books! As you spoke, I reflected on my style of writing and the different elements and content of the stories. Not to mention, cover content related to marketing strategy! Thank you so much for your educated insites!
University? Really? University: an institution of higher education, usually comprising a college of liberal arts and sciences and graduate and professional schools and having the authority to confer degrees in various fields of study. A university offers graduate and professional degrees (master’s and doctorates) and professional degrees, in addition to undergraduate degrees (such as the bachelor’s degree). You need to be a bit careful about such unsupportable claims. You are no more a university than my kitchen table. a university can label that a writer is able to teach as a teacher can more than a table can
Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on writing children's books ideas helpful. Here's to your own beautiful book!
