    If you are working with a long section by yourself, just use painter's tape to keep it in place while you start.

    Thanks for saving what little I have left of my sanity. After years of fighting with edge band trimmers, this is the ONLY way I will do edge banding from now on.

    After much frustration with both a cheap edge band cutter and an expensive one I found this video and finished my project. Great info 👍

    Thanks for making this video. Very helpful. Repurposing a table and the old veneer strip came off. Replacing it and I wasn't sure how to. Got it now!

    i was taught to use a file when i trained. i must admit that i now use a wide blade chisel held flat against the side and angled down. takes it off in one quick peel and then one light run down the edge at 45 with a file and the job is done.

    • @ashokmoghe8035

      So do you use the chisel's sharp blade to do the cutting or the side of the chisel like the file to do that cut? Trying to learn. Thanks in advance.

      Agreed. I’ve seen ppl free-climb skyscrapers and cliff faces, trained dogs sniff out fiber optic cable burried under concrete, lions fighting crocodiles for a buffalo, but this…. this is THEE best vid on the net!

    Can you veneer a routed curved mitered edge. I have a mdf top on a cabinet, and the edge is not a straight flat edge. The Cabinet top is veneered on bare mdf, but the tops edging im not sure how to go about it or if that is something done at all with veneer.

    Can one use a palm router to trim it? Or won't the glue hold against that sort of pressure?

    Amazing. Been looking all over the place for a vid that shows how to do veneer edge trimming with a file. I will be using this technique for veneer edge trimming, maybe also for edge banding trimming. I can't afford a router/trimmer.

    what about adding veneer in to a round edge of the same type of board

  • @awb1351
    @awb1351 Рік тому

    Could I use veneer edging on a more rough edge like chipboard/particle board? Or would the glue not be sufficient for a good bond, since the cut surface of chipboard is usually not as flat as plywood or solid wood?

    Use old blunted file and file down at an angle and you won't miss chunks like you did and you can just tear into much faster..

    And as shown on this video Don't be afraid to put your file on it and you need to lay your piece flat down on the table which you standing over it fall left to right it's much easier and then you flip your piece and do the other side it's much easier one shelf or one upright less than 30 seconds then it's time for stain or paint

    One of the poorest demos of installing shelf edging that I have seen. NEVER - NEVER - NEVER!! draw your file angled up towards the top. ALWAYS ensure the file is angled DOWN as you are trimming the edge. An amateur will learn this very quickly. Too bad the pro isn't really as pro as he would like.... SAD!!
