hey, I have a honda 9.9 too. I agree about the quietness too. I also have an E-tec. It's a 40hp and they are super quiet. The E-tec is around the same loudness as my Honda maybe a bit more louder but still really amazingly quiet!
I have an e-tec 25 and I love it I have had it for about 3 years and not one problem with it I one it in the north coast fishing bonanza and I beat alto of the older 30s and I intend on keeping in for many years to come I mainly use it for fishing but its an around motor its great for wakeboarding and skurfing and it gets me up easily
Love to see you show proof of that kinda weight being pushed by a 9.9hp and even planing let alone 19mph. I have been around boat and motors for a long time and know what I am saying
the best 2stroke money can buy yet we have the worst dealer in Singapore. Evinrude the sweetest 2stroke u can find in the world, which fkup the reputation of the brand. if only i don have to wait for 2 months for the dealer to come diagnose and service.
my Mariner 9.9 ( really tuned to 15) puts me at 19. Im around 300 lbs, boat is 700, with motor weight at 115... all said and done 1130 (including gear) btw its 1986 Mariner... starts every time.
28mph out of a older 15hp 2 stroke...... Not with 950# of weight being pushed. Fact is a 15 would struggle to plane that sort of load and would be lucky to see anything over 16-17mph on that setup. 28mph with a 15hp is not realistic at all sorry
Why are you posting that? Boats are different, and therefore they will see different speeds. Go visit us on OffshoreOnly(dot)com. Many of us over there, cruise @ 60+ mph and top out over 100+ mph. That's as much apples to apples as your comment. Besides, even though I'm a merc guy, I know and admit Evinrude is top dog on the stock outboard market, and merc racing rules the hi-perf part.
This motor are junk . Had one for 8 years . Left me broke down 4 times. And that i mean . Keeping up with good fuel and fuel separates . And more . Final cut ties with this company .

I can get 25 MPH out of my 1995 Merc 15 HP 2 stroke with my boat which is similar weight.
Did you know that there is factors of speed? Like the prop pitch/ size?
I wonder how it was at troll speed 1.5 to 2 mph? Was it smooth are buck at all.
are these engines loud at all, cause i have a 9.9 honda and it is damn quiet!
quiet and slow I sold my Honda bought oars and gained speed/ you can keep your Honda 3oo buck tune ups too

That boat weighs 285 pounds...
28.1 mph at 5550 rpm?.
Over propped.. should be closer to 6000rpm at w.o.t. propped right that boat should do 30-32 +-
My 1990 evinrude 25 is on a 15’9” glass skiff weighing 475lbs hits 28knots

Like I said... tuned to a 15...
thats so bullshit...
Hahaha!! 28 mph! My 25 merc 2-stroke pushes my 14' flatbottom 33-34 just me. Mercury 25 2-strokes are simply the best
the boat in the video was not a flatbottom and was not 14'
Your Jon boats a lot lighter than the boat in the video
