  • This is why you should buy an Evinrude E-TEC.
    Evinrude E-TEC in het kort:
    Evinrude E-TEC is de nieuwe generatie twee takt motoren.
    Deze motoren hebben de voordelen van een 2takt. (erg snelle acceleratie, licht, weinig onderhoud.) En ook de voordelen van een 4takt. (stil en zuinig)
    Evinrude E-tec's hebben dus het best van beide.
    In deze video zie je de inboard vs outboard. geen rook bij etec, evinrude e-tec tegen viertakt, dealer service eisen, geen inloop periode, D.Q.R. Duurzaam Kwaliteit Betrouwbaar, brandstof besparing, touwtrekken Evinrude 150 pk tegen Yamaha 150 pk. Yamaha zinkt. Gewichts verschil tussen Evinrude 90 pk tegen Yamaha 90pk. Probably the Best 2-stroke motor but all this posts about the Evinrude being the best and too bad they were discontinued. They were mostly discontinued because they “didn’t sell” when compared to the modern 4-stroke. More smoke, louder and not as reliable. Just the facts. I’ve been in the marine business now for almost 25 years. I have almost 30 marinas that are my dealers. Back in 2020 I decided to buy a new fishing boat. I got input from a lot of my “good” dealers on what was best. Reliability being the most important factor. Not a single one suggested an Evinrude. Yamaha than Suzuki were tops then Mercury and Honda and Evinrude last every time. And these larger dealers offered all or most of these engines and after developing a long term business relationship with them they were willing to give me their honest opinions

      Robert Diehl Two strokes are history. 4 strokes are becoming lighter, faster, and have always been more reliable. EVINRUDE went out out of business once and if they don't build some new 4 stroke engines it will happen again.

    • @blackvr4tt
      @blackvr4tt 9 років тому +1

      +DYNO DON Two strokes beat four strokes hands down for performance. The Evinrude Etec and Merc Optimax are the best engines on the water, no 4 stroke can touch them!

    • @MultiRogerJ
      @MultiRogerJ 9 років тому

      That extra weight makes no difference on my boat, its like having a child with me. The evinrude e-tec takes less gasoline than a four stroke because it has less moving parts but the four stroke is steadier and will last many ours more than the two stroke ;)

    • @blackvr4tt
      @blackvr4tt 9 років тому

      Weight at the transom is very critical because it causes stern drag and affects the handling and ride of the whole boat. So for most people, having a lighter outboard is a major advantage.
      In terms of reliability, Evinrude really has their engines dialed in the last 6-7 years. So the longevity going forward will be increasing....and as you mentioned the Etecs have a lot less moving parts to fail. They don't even have a belt driven alternator or compressor like that in the Merc Optimax.
      In addition, the all new Etec G2 engines were designed from the ground up as a direct injection power head. Thus their reliability in the long run will likely be quite strong.

    Nothing but problems with my 50 hp e-tec. Wouldn't start, stalls randomly, goes into limp mode when running, etc. Replaced the battery, cleaned out fuel tank then filled with fresh no ethanol gas, changed out ECU & fuel filter, swapped spark plugs, etc. 2 trips to the shop, + calls into the manufacturer & $2,500 later the problems persist. Been nothing but a money pit and headache, so I will be swapping it out for a Yamaha or Mercury.

      @@edharm8446 Turns out it was those e-tec fancy high pressure injectors. They have very small margins for error in pressure & temp. I think the oil wasnt circulating properly within the injectors (its used to cool them) & was causing a temp spike so the ECU would cut the fuel. Went with a never used 2015 Yamaha 50 hp 4 stoke with a $2500 credit for what I already spent. Wouldve been as much for new e-tec injectors + labor anyways. Been trouble fee ever since.

    • @edharm8446
      @edharm8446 4 роки тому +2

      @@matthewthomassen6127 Hey Matthew, was talking with an Alumacraft/Evinrude dealer yesterday and for the first time I heard a dealer admit what was one of the main issues with early Etec's. In the design the oil lines were routed near high temp areas of the engine resulting in failed lines and seized power heads. This flaw has been corrected since and new routing implemented throughout the engines. Combine the mentioned issue with the injectors and yeah there were issues. Second the injectors are precision instruments, so the days of careless fuel handling, storage, fuel life, and water in the fuel system are critical to proper injector performance.

      Haha, yes you are right, you cant compare two and four strokes, cause nothing is as good as 4stroke, yes 2 is lighter, has more power and more torque, that is claimed, if 4 would have that much hp that etec really has, there wouldnt be any two stroke that would be better than 4 one, but yes, as long as you, believe that etecs specs, that their engines are the best, have very low fuel consumption and low maintance, they introduced two stroke with dfi like it is science, tohatsu had two stroke direct fuel injection, but there is a difference betwen etec, and tohatsu, tohatsu has fuel consumption and power high/low like they claimed, while etec claimed specs are wrong...

    That's changed from "Why you should buy an Evinrude E-Tec" into "Run away as fast as possible".
    Parts support is drying up fast for the E-Tec motors and the remaining support will be to meet warranty obligations they have.
    Once the warranty period expires on the 2020 motors, BRP will sell off/stop parts support on all Evinrude areas that is not consistently profitable.

      Maximum Horsepower you belong in the past. My evinrudes 2stroke runs just as good as it did when it was new. My kid has a etec 135 that runs great and has for over four years. Can your quote facts why etecs are junk or are you just shooting off your mouth with nothing to back it up.

    Evinrude E-tec is more than just feul efficiency. It about power at any rpm, top speed, weight and much more. Try an E-tec!
