How to Fix a Maxon Liftgate That Won't Go Up. I fixed the liftgate of my truck by just replacing the solenoide because the lifgate only can go down but couldn't go up.
We have a T20 model Maxon Tuk-A-Way on a 2010 Freightliner M2 106 we changed the new solenoid but the lift gate still not go up. We can hear the click when trying to make it go up. Please help.

Daniel, this was fantastic and confirmed the issue I have with my lift gate. I am just a parent in charge of some trucks for the High School Band here in Dallas. I actually bought my solenoid last night but your video confirmed that this was my issue. THANKS FOR THE CONTENT!!
Clicking solenoid could also be other problems. Check to make sure you have a good ground from the hydraulic pump to the frame of the battery. Also a week battery or bad battery connection could do the same thing.

Another check for the solenoids is holding either down or up and hold a screwdriver or something metal to the back of the solenoid and it should magnetize.
I'm in Dallas as well, my liftgate started leaking hydraulic fluid and won't go backup.. think I need new cylinder😩 do you do yhis type wrk or know an affordable place in the area?
Can you tell me the model number of that Maxon liftgate? I have the exact same unit and probably need a motor but I don't know the model number. My unit is rusted and no name plates left.
Hey Daniel!! I put in a new solenoid but it still doesn't work. Could it be the thermal switch? The light in the back is green and I still can get it to go up

joseph black usually some lift gates have return valve..look for it .. and also look for instructions on the pump box , it’s small sticker that shows you how to open the valve more

Did you install same oem solenoid? Make sure you installed the correct solenoid from Maxon

I can drill out the rivets and easily fix that soleniod. Keep it as a spare.
