Yes, that was pretty good. I actually am doing a transmission rebuild on my Honda insight and I took apart the countershaft so many times trying to get it rebuilt, I can do it so quickly now.
Mainshaft outer case bearing staying in the outer case is not a sign of a bad bearing. Happens even with a brand new ITR transmission getting a FD/LSD install.
I agree, everyone I have seen has had the bearing stick in the case due to viscous oil remnant issues. They pull out easily or are a little cocked and just need a wiggle.
My notes from watching, 92-93 LS trans. Mainshaft is toast due to the spline damage from the hub. Countershaft needs stripped and checked for clogged oil passages as well as the outer bearings being damaged from the lack of fluid....or using current Honda MTF in an older transmission, esp. in the desert heat. Likely the 92-93 5th shift fork is no longer available (NLA) Good news is 94-01 forks interchange.
Is it wise to shuffle all the gears bearings and synchros around like that during disassembly??? I would think keeping the bearings matched to appropriate gear would /could be of significance.
Awesome video. What can be the issue on a b16 transmission when I drive the car for like 30 minutes it gets pretty stiff and hard to get out of gear seems like when I push the clutch in and out A couple times it let’s me get it out of gear
This dude: 10 minute tear down and reassembly with a B series. Me: 10 week tear down and reassembly with my H series. But I did do all new bearings seals, accord 5th gear, carbon fiber synchros. NO LSD. Damn I am stupid.
Man I really love watching you guys on this channel... but you didn’t show the wear on that fifth gear! You should’ve showed a close up of that in the moment Bryant was showing you and explaining how bad it was.
I recently did a itr box that looks like someone missed 4th and ground the fuck outta reverse the sleeve syncro teeth and the reverse gear were all FUCKED
Sabroso Lopez yeah he did, took him months to finish my harness. Then it wasn’t even a complete one. Then I tired to get a hold of him, but his company doesn’t even exists anymore. Shows a lot about that person.
He seems experienced with the honda trans but his hygiene was pretty poor, all that dirt from the housing on the bench and his gloves and then rolling the gear sets in the sand didn't seem like good practice to me. I never rebuilt a tranny but I am pretty sure cleanliness is critical with automatics. I understand this is a manual so maybe some dirt getting in the gears isn't a big deal, however I am also aware that there is no oil pump or filtration on manuals like on auto's so perhaps its not a concern?
It seemed like the consensus was that this was just an inspection and not an actual final reassembly. I disagree with the general handling of it though but it's automotive
1998 honda prelude overheated due to coolant leak at heater hose at engine outlet split at end repaired filled with asian coolant started and ran it to check for leaks.not realizing to cool engine down and burp engine . Trashed the engine . Did liquid combustion and leakdown test no go on both. Worst mistake so far. Retired diyer trying to save money.do not have to patience and knowhow to do e gi e swap. Plus already working on my wifes 1995 honda odyssey doing head job i the proccess of putting back
The way he took that transmission down and put that thing back together was jaw dropping.

Mista bone the og transmission god takes me back to Honda tech
Mista bone an aquafina has all the transmission knowledge u need
The wear on the shift fork is also from people who like to hold the shift lever while driving. That's a no no move.
Very informative, thank you. I have a trans in my shop I need to inspect so perfect timing for a refresher!
Great video.......dude is a master at the honda trans thanks for the video keep em coming....Much love to aH

Do a few hundred or more, and it's like playing with Legos. But, we're all rookies at some time.
CF Synchros? why?
@@scrappydogfinance8434 Synchros are nothing more than brake pads. Would you upgrade your brake pads on a car that is driven hard?
First time is always the slowest

It was bad, bad bad.
Drop the case and bearing falls out...id reuse if not sloppy 😂
Man. That header has been around. I was the second owner. Poor thing.
Just rebuild the thing. Never him and ha about the that will get you by. A full rebuild and send it.

Does Brian have a page? IG?
Where are you located?
We are in AZ and CA.
This guy never own up to the harness he made for me. Missing some sensors smh. Crazy to see him still building away. Lol
He did work for you?
Sabroso Lopez yeah he did, took him months to finish my harness. Then it wasn’t even a complete one. Then I tired to get a hold of him, but his company doesn’t even exists anymore. Shows a lot about that person.
