What questions would you like to have a video on?
graft a 'fruit bud' to another branch. Is it possible?
That's not possible@@solomachine1820
Flora nova grow do u still use that in spring???
What did you do to avoid ants attack on dragon fruit?
new branches are not coming after pruning ....its been 1 month
I love these new content shorter videos packed with great tips! Having 2 new babies and also recording/editing content is not easy at all. Thank you for the work that you do to keep us on track to have healthy DFs and lots of fruits! I appreciate and love having you back and popping up on my feed again! 🙏❣
Glad you enjoy them! Will continue to do more
Oh my DRAGON!! WOW, such beauties. Those colors are sooooooo........ gorgeous 😍.
One of my favorites!
Beautiful flowers!
I followed your instructions and my dragon fruits plants are doing do 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
So glad to hear that!
Thanks for the tips. There’s nothing wrong with using synthetic fertilizer. The plants can’t tell the difference between synthetic and organic. All it see is n.p.k and minerals. The only difference is organic feeds the soil microbes which feeds the plant and synthetics is like instant steroids for the plants which is instantly available. Anyways. Thanks for all the top notch info on growing dragon fruit
Definitely. It just comes down to personal preference and philosophy. Either way works
Those flowers are gorgeous!
They really are!
Excellent video!!!! Thank you for sharing all that info! Those flowers are gorgeous!
Thank you so much. My plants are almost two years old and looks beautiful but so far, no flowers or fruit. I will try tipping. I already give them flowering fertilizer.
You're welcome and good luck!
Great video good information I tried to grow mine from seed better luck for me next time👍🏾
Glad it was helpful. Grafting will always be the fastest route. Try growing a combination of both
It works magnificent i have about 30 flowers and only my second year with darkstar. It has buds everywhere!!!!
Nice!!! I'm sure you're super excited
Thanks Richard
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Thanks Richard 🙏
Welcome!
Amazing Richard

Nice display of blooms, Richard. I have had good success with Flower Girl this year, as well.
It's such a great product. Congrats on your successful blooms!
Praud daddy. You're flowers are awsome
Thank you
Nice blooms, Richard!
Thank you!
@@GraftingDragonFruit you’re welcome :)
so coool!
As you I don`t care anymore if people become aggressive and or call me cheater. From Orchids to Monster Physalis or Passion fruit vines: Just use the Marry-Don`t-You-Anna fertilizer your local hippie uses for flower induction and mass production. Of course adjust the amount of fertilizer for the specific plant. But underground or mass production - some things work because of physics, chemistry, biology and more. Just because one does not understand it, IT STILL WORKS. And plants love THEIR food.
Way to say it! I just got to a point where I’m like well, it works well here for me and I’m getting results but it doesn’t matter to me if you use it or believe it. Im happy with my bountiful harvest every oh so short season by maximizing its potential. 😁
@@GraftingDragonFruit but people might get sad because their tiny plants are nearly dying BUT they are "organic". And, you are the master, I have not seen flowers on mine. And the ones I got are 8 years old. Sure, I made EVERY mistake but now I give them water, PROPER fertilizer and sunlight and NOW they grow...
I was so excited that my dragon fruit finally bloomed about a week ago. I went out to hand pollinate them, but I don't think it worked because all of the flowers (which were so beautiful) turned yellow and dropped off. I was so sad it happened, but that's life!
Might have to try cross pollinating. Keep experimenting. You'll get fruits soon enough
Man, those are beautiful flowers
They are!
Those are massave and beautiful
They really are!
Has un vídeo con tus perritos ❤son hermosos, enseñarlos
Gorgeous flower! Best wishes
They were amazing. Thank you! Best wishes to you as well
make more such short videos about plants 👍👍
We like longer videos
@@GraftingDragonFruit yes we like that too ❤️😄
In one of your videos can you please mix an Asunta variety with the ecuador palora flower
I'll add that to my list
Can you do a video on if you plant 🪴 dragon fruit directly in soil. I have good sun, soil, etc. Good?
Will add that to the list. Thank you
When do you start using flora blooms?
Few weeks before the season starts
Thank you I got it👏
Hopefully I’ll get Soon my dragon fruits😂
I hope you do too!
Thanks a lot 😮
So beautiful. Trying to find out the name of the variety. Did miss it?
What is the name of the species of dragon fruit that has that purple flower? it is beautiful, congratulations
This is Asunta 4 and 5 in this pot
Thanks @@GraftingDragonFruit where you from? Im looking forward to find diferents types of dragon fruit
Question. First time grower here. If you put new cutting into the potting, no roots yet, is it good to use hydroponics grow fertilizer now or should I wait til they rooted??
Great Work Me Too When I Cut It Some Branches The New Flowers Coming & Give It Them Liquid Compost Booom A Same For Branches He Given Flowers With any Root If You Need To See It ISend You Some Pics For New Cut With Any Root With Flowers My All Dragon F In Sun All Day With Any protection New Trick🥰👌💪🏼🇩🇿🤲
Nice work to you too!
Morning Richard.(Thailand)
Hello!
make a video with your dogs, they are beautiful to teach🙏
Should i place it in full sun if we have 100 plus degree weather all summer?
Depending on the variety, but you may want to add in 30% shade to it
Chemical fertilizers aren't any worse for you than organic ones. That's a load of crap. Use what works for you and of course, don't over do it. Less is ALWAYS more when it comes to fertilizers.
So true. There's all kinds of philosophy. Finding the right balance for yourself is key
I love your video. It is always very informative. My df would get sun burn if I put it in full sun. What can I do?
Put an umbrella over it or hang up some 30% shade
Wow wonderful just like you little man
thanks
I used the fox farm big bloom and my dragon fruit started growing a lot of buds on single branches. Not sure if I should start taking some buds off at this point
Wait until after pollination. Don't want you to decrease your chances of fruiting
Hi Richard, thanks for the tips. You mentioned using buds and blooms every two weeks after enough buds, for how long do we continue using buds and blooms? Thanks!
You can use this all the way until you harvest your very last dragon fruit for the season! Usually once dragon fruit season is over, I’ll switch over to all purpose fertilizer to maintain its health.
Thank you so much!
Whats the heat over at your place like? I'm going to put my dragon fruit plants in full sun but i'm waiting for the heat to die down for them to adjust to it better. I'm worried though when next summer comes because I live in Arizona and during the peak of the summer we have over 100 degree heat for hours every day for weeks. Do you think they'd be able to handle it??
We're usually between low mid 70s-high 80s on average during the year
You would have to use a lot of 30% shade to help tame the heat
I love this channel. Ever since Richard started, he’s been the most positive and active with his fan base, helping, and trying his best with everyone.
2-3 years ago this was my go to channel for everything
I only have one trellis with a cebra 😅 I’ll go get pollen by someone but I want more variety’s !😊
Thank you for all the support 😊 Hopefully you’ll be able to get your hands on more varieties soon!
Hi Rich, why my Dragon fruit flowers do not have pollen. And flowers falling a lot.
If flowers are not pollinated then it will fail
What do you do with the white roots taking off from the ends of the stems?
You can just leave them, doesn't hurt
how do you use that bloom fertilizer?
Just mix it following the directions. I usually use half the dosage
In areas where it required to use a greenhouse, due to cold weather, could you still get fruit while keeping the plant smaller?
Yes it’s still possible.
what are the ants doing to the buds pre blooming stage
Hey Richard I was the guy with the best dragon fruit shirt at the event at garden grove hydroponics store , I had a question what’s the variety’s that made
Asunta 6
Tropical skies
Wild berry skittles
And. Pioupu
when is the actual season to begin using Flora nova. and how often. (Until you get buds, but how often until then.) Then how soon after getting buds do you begin using Dr earths bud and bloom?
There’s really no actual season, but just a few weeks leading up to your typical budding time. Timing is different for everyone.
No, I’ve never seen pink flowers before on a dragon, fruit, only white! What color meat are these dragon fruit?
Hi,how can I buy your dragon fruit cuttings....I want the ones that are sweet, self fertile and self polinated..Thank you..
Can you do a short video about shading your plants in extreme heat?
Just need to use 30% shade cloth. I don’t use many because haven’t faced too much extreme heat here in SoCal
Sir how to can’t buy the plant your dragon fruit im her USA
When my website launches, I will be selling what I have available
So it’s July I’m in Virginia and I just tipped my dragon fruit. Should I use the flora bloom, or the flora grow? I currently have no budding.😢
I would suggest to use Floranova bloom because it is still dragon fruit season and these months that they like to flower. It starts from may-September. Floranova bloom will help it induce some buds. I use 1.5tsp per gallon of water.
How do I help my dehydrated plant the fastest way. and if I live south California when exact do we add manure please🙌🤝Thanks
Try watering them and mulch the top soil. If your soil is well draining enough it doesn't matter. I live in the tropics with hot humid days (afternoon temperatures of 35 degrees celsius with 85% or more humidity under the Sun) and heavy thunderstorms during the monsoon season, and my dragonfruit plants are doing well in their pots exposed to the elements. I use a mix of fertilizer pellets and homemade vermicompost as fertilizer and I mulch the soil with coconut husk chips.
@@user-xs4mu8xm7d Thanks for the tip I will try 👍 I been watering well enough but it seems that water is not the problem I was hoping to hear something diferent so thank you I will try mulch and good fertilizers, but I'm gorry to burn my plants because is been hot here.
What is your fertilizing schedule?
I fertilize every 2 weeks with Dr Earth Flower Girl Bud and Bloom all the way until my very last fruit is harvested.
Dr. Bud and bloom fertilizer…how much do you use Richard???
Half dosage like mentioned in the video
Hi Bro, what color of the fruit with your red flower? I never saw red flower. Thanks!
It’s red
Great vids Richard how do I get a tour to check out your plants
Glad you like them. Not doing tours at the moment.
@@GraftingDragonFruit hope fully soon hey richard I was wondering do you have any vietnamese white cuttings available
Do you hand pollinate your blossoms?
Yes for the majority of them
Do you use langbeinite or any other down to earth fertilizers?
I hand pollinated, the flower withered then turned yellow and the whole bud fell off? How can I make it set fruit ? My plant is the purple haze variant
Needs different pollen sorce...Sugar dragon, Vietnam white, or any self fertile dragon pollen works.
@@technoraptor7778 thanks for the info I bought it bc they told me it tasted kinda like grape haha and didn’t do research … what best tasting & self fertile variant do you recommend? Much appreciated!
Hi! I have my dragon fruit growing from a seed 1 year ago! They have hurtful spines on them! Do I cut them off? Also, I know I need to support it more and build support for it!
You can but I just usually leave mine on since they will most likely grow back. Some varieties have more spines than others
Oh that’s good to know! Because I have a minature dragon fruit plant and it says, “the cactus that doesn’t bite” lol
The other ones that I have are from a yellow dragon fruit from the grocery store, that I grew from a seed. That yellow dragon fruit was so good and sweet!
Great! Will a bud that bore a fruit grow another fruit bud? Or is that part incapable of regenerating more flowers
It will only grow bud one time in each node
Ok my question is floranova grow???? Do u still use that ???
Yes
Hi how many time do you use General Hydroponics FloraNova Bloom? Thanks in advance.
And how many gallons per pot after you mix it?
Once a week or every other week. Just one dosage per pot.
Thank you for getting back with me💕
@@DaraLao50 you’re welcome!
@@GraftingDragonFruit hi Richard..Do I use General Hydroponics until I gets the budds? I been using for a month now I don’t have no buds yet.
Hi, can Dragon fruit plant stand for snow in the winter time? I am living in UK.
You will have to bring them indoors or grow in a green house to maintain temperature.
Is it too late to get buds? I live in North Texas
Probably as we’re heading into the hibernating season.
Hi
hi
I have one plant but more roots there are no flowers
If will have flowers in time. Sounds like a young plant
Hi there, do you sell this variety? I would like to buy some if you do.
Mine produced buds, but fell off 😢
Next time!
1st hahah 😊
Fast as THE FLASH!
Full sun in Murrieta is over 100 degrees. I thought dragon fruit could only Handel temps up to 85 degrees. Is this true.
Maybe full sun in Southern California as the weather rarely goes over 100. Im in Sacramento and summer is usually 95-108 and every thing gets roasted without 30% shade.
Would have to use shade to help out
How old are those plants?
A few years
But we been having over 100's temperatures here in North California.
If it gets too hot like 100F, provide umbrella as shade or even shade cloth 30%
Like 206
Tipping the branches is not necessary to get an abundance blooms. I don't tip and usually gets 10 buds on 1 branch
Not necessary, but it helps induce more buds so it usually helps for many people who aren't experts or extremely experienced with their Dragon Fruit journey yet.
Must be nice lol 😅😂
Is Super Bloom a thing? Do Apple trees super bloom? Let Pause and look up.
It can be =P
They don’t ship to hawaii floranova
Might have to try and find something similar at your local garden supply store
How self sterile dragon fruit successful fruiting
That tip number 3, that's the same what I say about master.......planting
🤣🤣
I was so excited that my dragon fruit finally bloomed week ago with 5 knots , hope after flower can produce fruit . I don’t know how to pollinate them , may be just let be that way . Any advice 👍 thanks 😂
There's video on my channel showing how to pollinate and you can join the fb group to ask for help as well!
Hi Richard! How do you feel about a raised pot on like a tree stump for example vs trellis to grow dragonfruits? @graftingDragonFruit
Hi! I’ve actually seen a few of this style being done by members in my Facebook dragon fruit community. I’m not against it but I would find it later get hard to reach it’s pot once it’s full grown to feed or maintain it? But looks totally cool tho!
C'est possible, si dans votre pays il y a beaucoup d'humidité. Sinon, c'est possible de mettre la bouture en terre lorsque les racines sont déjà visibles.
I love all ur videos and the way u explain everything. Thanks! Greetings from another passionated by pitayas in Spain 🫶
