I love when people can find the potential in something. When everyone dismissed this home he saw what it could be and gave it life. It exudes, warmth, comfort and character. Well done.
A beautiful house, sensitively restored, decorated and furnished. I so enjoy this channel as I have mentioned before. Such a treat to be invited into wonderful homes owned by a vast array of talented people. Thank you guys for maintaining a high quality channel. I appreciate all the work involved both on and behind the screen.
Thank you very much Stephen for your kind words!! So glad you love our channel and the talented hosts' homes we share. And a big thanks for recognizing the work involved in bringing design a voice here on Quintessence!
I always admire Ken’s work. I’m glad that he Didn’t tear that house all apart and make it into something it wasn’t. Very appropriate for the setting ...Bravo
I love this! So unique to his personal taste; it has a New England coastal feel, without being the same old derivative beach style we see all the time. This cat person is so happy to see the hallway full of dog portraits. A happy and comforting home. :)
Dog people are the best! **and the best at 'doing up a house' - I'm SO glad they didn't 'Pottery Barn' this house. Love the wallpaper, kitchen, well absolutely everything. I'll be watching this over and over . . .
Home is where the heart is. When you're surrounded by nature, there is absolutely no need to fill your home with anything other than necessities. Perfect home for its environment.
One of my favourite homes, even outside of your channel here. It's not just the antiques, the cultivated atmosphere, the handmade charm and the location; it's the novelty of seeing an alternative idea of a beach house. So warm, welcoming and best of all suitable for all seasons. I can just imagine how charming and inviting this house seems when entertaining guests 'off season'. Absolutely gorgeous. My thumbs up and comment from years ago has disappeared I just noticed on rewatching this gem so thought it my duty to repost my compliments in support of channel growth and personal, human support. xo :)
I love all the chipped paint on the walls, baseboards and the moldings. I'm from New Orleans and it just reminds me of that old world charm. I also love the furnishings. What a charming home, thanks for sharing.
Sally Quinn, who restored Grey Gardens, remarked that a house that age isn't meant to be without flaws; the crooked walls and dings are what give it its character. That helps me be at peace with my 130-year-old house and all its beautiful imperfections.
OK Susanna, now THIS is my favorite house. Being a new subscriber and catching up on your videos, I found myself saying that after each one I've watched. But it's true this time. Did Ken say how old the house was? Not that I need to know. The older the house and furnishings, the more in awe I am. Seriously, I get the chills. In a good way. Edit: scratch the how old question, but not my level of excitement. I really ought to read the description before I watch. But I get so happy when I see a Quintessence video show up in my feed that I automatically click to watch it. You've got me teained well Susanna.
LOL!! Firstly, welcome! so glad you have found us! And glad you found the description - I try and add relevant information there! - Stacey (behind the camera and the channel)
I love the word "restoration". Beautiful home. I share these videos with my friends so they can realize I am not a hoarder, but a collector.....who needs better organization but I love the pieces I've added-I buy them because I like them or think my family will appreciate them.
What an absolutely Fabulous Home... Enhancing the History of the House... is to Perfection!!! The colors, the treasures, just Everything!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
LoVe, LoVe, LoVe this house!! Absolutely I get it!! Ah! The dog portraits captured my heart! Bravo Ken Fulk for rescuing such wonderful structure and breathing NEW life into it - so Wonderful!!
Love this guys understanding of his house and it's location, connection to the natural world and it's maritme history. Such respect for all of the above and the house has been so sympatheticaly and respectfuly renovated and bought up to date. Soothing......... This is 'icecream for the mind'! So refreshing............... Big Thank You for sharing Enjoy
Really beautiful renovation/restoration of a very special old property. As a long time Provincetown resident who knew the previous owner and somewhat of the history of this house, it was interesting to watch the transformation. I am happy to see that you did not try to make it into something it wasn't intended to be. Obviously great taste and, equally important, much love went into this project. Congratulations.
So unique and beautiful. The amount of self discipline to make this home what it is and not a copy of any other is amazing. I would love to see their city home in San Francisco.
Oh my gosh I love this so much. The house, the patina of the walls! The arrangements of the paintings, that adorable white striped tee and shorts with the hat! Perfection.
My favourite house, by far! The kind of house in which I would feel truly relaxed and mellow. Everything from the art, to the sofas, to the kitchen cabinetry, to the mural make my heart sing, sing, sing!
OMG! I Love this! 💕 I appreciate how he kept this older style and didn’t go modern. This looks like something I could only read about in a novel or see in a film, great job!
What a charmer, the warmth and coziness created with the colors used is perfect. The living room (?) with the beautiful rich hues is my favorite, and that stove and that little bedroom with the bay window and those dog portraits running along the hall and of course the sweet looking dogs. What fun to see, thank you so much for taking us on another great tour. We are so lucky to get to tag along with you on these visits, the gentleman whose house it is, is so kind to let us enjoy it too.
Reminds me of our family cabin on a lake in the northern woods of Michigan. No pretense, lots of memories.... barefoot & chill..... with a prevailing mood that beats the most lavish of settings.
Such a great house. I love that it speaks to it's owners appreciation of it and what they bring to it. The mural in the dining room reminds me of the the lobby murals at the Provincetown Inn when I was a kid 😊
I liked this house. Coming from England it was certainly a more familiar size to me - as some of the houses featured from the USA are enormous - but grand. I loved his choice of wall colours. Great dog portraits.
Love Provincetown!! Especially dinner at The Lobster Pot -- best chowder on the cape! This house is amazing -- warm and charming! Also -- love the wonderful gallery walls ,,,, and the dogs! Thanks for another great video!
Amazingly beautiful. I have a cottage in Newport Harbor in a neighborhood that was restored by Doris Duke and a 1890s shingle style house in Taunton, MA that I continue to restore. Love it when I happen upon inspirational talent like this!
Oh my! Tanner Brown is the color you get when you dye Oxblood colored field boots with black. It is luscious and reminds me of well-made tack that is 40 years old. Tally Ho!
I really appreciate his respect for the house, its architecture and history. Truly lovely❤ I also wanted to say that I discovered you a couple of weeks ago and I am hooked!! Super inspired! Keep them coming😁
I especially loved this visit! So down to earth. I just wanted to reach out and touch the chippy paint and feel the textures. And by the way .. nice gams, Susanna
Hello from Switzerland, We were to Cape Cod on July 2014 and this place is still on us, my husband and I. Congratulations! 😀 Perhaps we'll go to P'town next summer and this beautiful guest house is a good idea to stay 👍🏻
Ken Fulk is a great designer. I love what he did with the house, and the dining room is darling. Pictures of the dogs all around, so cute and cozy. And your discussions are always so interesting.
Over the years, Provincetown has become a sort of a Disney tourist destination. The real history and charm of the town with its mix of Portuguese immigrants, international artists and unpretentious shops and eateries has been washed away by wealthy second or third home owners who like to think it is still a unique and authentic place. The landscape is...that's pretty much the only real things left.
I love when people can find the potential in something. When everyone dismissed this home he saw what it could be and gave it life. It exudes, warmth, comfort and character. Well done.

it's like an old sea captain's cabin. very historical, ambient and cozy.
I dig it.

I love how he stayed true to the history of the town and house. Love the painted mural, beautiful!

Love love love that you left the original things of the house intact!!
We do too!!

So you're an old witch who likes to name drop
@@tonyfrenolaski7731 Yes, Queen... no getting around the fact that I enjoy name dropping :D
@@mysticalHeir name-dropping is cheap and tacky ! It says I am desperate
@@mysticalHeir well it certainly hope you stay among your own kind ( considering the way America is going ) 😳🔫

This beautiful home is such a good representation of Ptown. From the art to the people it is eclectic and lovely.
Thank you - so glad you think so and enjoyed!
Lately all we hear about San Francisco is negative scenarios, but it is good to highlight the beauty of San Francisco such as this home!
While Ken's main home is in SF, this video visit is at his house in Provincetown.
Okay 👌🏽 so digging this place, I really connected with his designs. Give me a amen!!
That is exactly what I would do to a second home. (If I could afford one) He did an amazing job of making the house a home!

I'm a fan of his design work of Leo's Oyster Bar, it's so nice to see how he decor his home.
Yes, he did a fabulous job at Leo's. And while Ken has several homes, I know he loves this one!
Comfortable looking. 👍
