Ohmygosh!!!!! You have just made a woman in the northern reaches of Norway 🇳🇴 very happy today!!! I used to live in NYC as an art student when John first opened his shop. That is where I’d go to fuel up my creative energies and linger in a space that could as likely have been inside one of my own late night dreams.
I would love just him or nobody talking, she takes away the enjoyment of all the beauty. I think he is a genius, love his brain and how he can see things, you don't have to get new new new and no character at all. Awesome collection of plates!
My gosh this place looks like the house from Stanford and sons. But!!! Art and design are in the eye of the beholder. As long as he loves and enjoys it more power to him.
Such a treat to behold. A home without pretense or predictability because of it’s total reflection of the individual/s? who abide there! Some interiors are worthy of remembrance and this one is on my short list. Thank you Susanna and John for the post, once again!
Perfection doesn’t have to be perfect! Inspiring to see how John puts things together, and of course how Susana and Stacey capture it to share with us.
Love the light throughout John's home and, the color of the Belgian wall. He has curated a lovely abode. Thank you for bringing this episode to us. I learn so much from your videos.
This is definitely in the top 5 of all the spaces you've shown us. Wow!! I just love the mood of the rooms and the casual celebration of decay. If I believed in perfection this would be it. Thank you both so much! xo W
Forgive me for saying this........but usually interior designers have debatable art on their walls.......either too easy and pleasing to look at( without substance) , or too pretentious. HERE I saw magnificent art and portraits hanging everywhere!!! Please let him know that I am a fan........and available!!! And Susanna you are becoming more and more elegant........ you will age like a queen one day!!
Another fabulously interesting home tour. I love stepping into other worlds with your videos. Thanks so much for posting these glimpses into unique and creative lives!
I remember when Margaret Russell featured another of John’s apartments in Elle Decor and in her book “So Chic,” describing the oddities and found objects in his space. It was enchanting then. It is enchanting now. I hope you also do his Provincetown home soon!! Thank you, Stacey and Susanna, for another amazing tour!!!
it's like being in an antique cabinet of curiosities, with cozy sofa's and really interesting artwork. i could live there quite happily, just throw in a coffee, a cat and some good books.
Love this video - SO MUCH!!! Such a cool guy, very original design aesthetic. It’s like he is revealing parts of himself when you look at his rooms. And I love that he embraces non-perfection. Thank you once again for this series. It makes me happy whenever I see I have a new video from you!
I have to keep backing up and stopping the video to look more closely! The Kitchen/Sitting room is like the best bomb shelter of all time, so cozy! I love the contrast of the light filled room with a womb like room. The best of both worlds depending on your mood.
Always brings me such joy to see your beautiful videos ... you ladies are so talented and inspiring!! I always watch your videos more than once ... they are so delicious from beginning to end :))). I always am so inspired to find myself a little treat to add to my home, or shop my home and change things around a bit ... or to paint and so on!! Thank you for all that you ladies do!!
Wow what a beautiful space! So much character, personality, and great use of color. I love that red/orange light emanating from the next room, in the beginning. Such a nice contrast against the more cooler neutral colors. Also a great use of vintage, and slightly modern... Thank you once again Quintessence, and Suzanna! And that game of charrades was cute! Haha 😆
I love his home ;-) Something filling up the home with things you love, makes you fill happy with your surrounding. I though I had a lot of things, but I love stuff myself ;-)
How about loving the decaying daffodils and using the childrens water colors for painting-he’s so cool-he gives a flip for formalities and has a really distinctive taste. My sister showed me his shop in NY-been a fan since that magical day!
Such a magical place full of collection love it! And at 1:17 in the upper left corner, I have the exact same green jar, ( there's a better image in the AD spread) but I had mine turned into a lamp.
I love the decay and the juxtopostion of finds, it's quite unusual in the US to find 'real' shabbiness as opposed to bought shabbiness ,, It's more usual in say ,, Britain/Europe , great video girls thank you xoxoxo
so true!! I am so attracted to British design because of this. there is such a cozy charm to english cottages because the shabbiness is beautiful and comes from being lived in.
The apartment is a delight. As are his curiosities and collections! Full of imagination and surprise! But with a huge recognition and appreciation for all things old and even decayed. And real art! I can’t bear to hear interior designers describe a cheap framed print from Ikea as artwork. It’s not and never will be. It may look great on the wall but to call it art is a misnomer. The word art in this context should be reserved for something original, it doesn’t even have to be beautiful or expensive. But there’s a massive difference between an original item which has been created and lovingly displayed, and an item which has been mass produced in it’s thousands and hung on a wall. It has every right to be there but don’t call it art work. It’s not.
Morning! The fact that you reply to some of these missives, or a member of your team does, is a real joy! Thank you! I love the way you are so diplomatic and ignore any abrasive or rude comments! You have to! I am on a mission to try and get your North American hosts, and subscribers to call their yards, gardens! To call a beautiful garden a yard, is so misleading, inappropriate and doesn’t do justice to the glories of a lot of the gardens you show us.
Let me first say that I love your videos! I always look forward to your new uploads and force people to watch along with me that become fans as well! LOL One thing that I would love to suggest as a viewer is the sound would be amazing with one of these: amzn.to/2y7slhk I use this mic for some of my videos and It's clearer and softer on the ears...and plugs right into phones as a LAV mic. (if this doesn't work you can find an inexpensive mic from RODE that would fit your filming gear!👍) Check it out...but keep these amazing videos coming! Always watching with a snack in hand! 🤓😍👍👍👍

Reminiscent of UA-cam's abandoned mansions and everything's left behind. No graffiti. Just my style. Loving it!

Beautiful . Thank you for sharing . x
I love what you said about New England,(me too 👏❤🍁) loving nature, the bowed circular dead daffodils...
That wall is freaking stunning. Belgium.
Indeed it is!
I love his home ;-) Something filling up the home with things you love, makes you fill happy with your surrounding. I though I had a lot of things, but I love stuff myself ;-)

Would love for John to help me design my home in the Catskills! Love his stores
Who wouldn't?! Love his stores too!
Wasn't too sure about this one, but then there were the doors and all those dishes piled high and I thought yeah I'm hooked.
So glad!!
Such a magical place full of collection love it! And at 1:17 in the upper left corner, I have the exact same green jar, ( there's a better image in the AD spread) but I had mine turned into a lamp.
Uwielbiam takie wnętrza pełne bibelotów, obrazów, rzeźb i innych cudownych rzeczy to jest inspirujące a ta półka z ceramiką 💃👍😁👏🤭🥳
Susanna, he is SO yummy😻 You are so rite, his home does feel like a cocoon-a total relaxable feeling..
I'm so addicted to this video that I noticed at 5:30 there is a biker riding his bike backwards down the street. Haha. How did this happen?
Must see!
I love your videos
I love the decay and the juxtopostion of finds, it's quite unusual in the US to find 'real' shabbiness as opposed to bought shabbiness ,, It's more usual in say ,, Britain/Europe , great video girls thank you xoxoxo

I love all the videos. They are fabulous but I do wish you had better audio.
The main room has very Gustavian quality to it.
Stunning, Yummy, Loved & Lived In!!!💓🎶🎼🎵
VERY NICE
Enjoyed .
Great !
WTF?? I ❤️NY.
So do we!! So amazing right?
Quintessence ..indeed, counting the minutes for summer vacation!
I think susanna adds so much , some of those Homeworthy shows where person talks in monotone voice explaining how their bathroom is a jewel box
A real home where real people live.
I also felt like ‘taking’ some of the crockery!🙈
😍👍👍👌👌👌
