I feel like I really did this one justice...
Dan single handedly will increase the next drop price 2X now
Here’s some questions you need to ask them.
1. Why is it not straight bourbon whiskey on the label
2. Why is there not state of distillation
3. How is maple finished considered double oak and what is their special finishing process?
4. How do they get it so black?
Not being straight bourbon whiskey and no state of distillation allows a producer to add color and flavoring to it. Not saying they are but they have been unresponsive to these questions.

This bottle dropped in Texas this last weekend. I secured two bottles at MSRP for $132 each!

Sold out almost immediately at a Specs in Dallas. I live in SC and my wife was in McKinney for a wedding so I had her roll over there to see if she could grab one on Saturday and they had sold all 90 bottles they were allocated within an hour. 😢

I was fortunate enough to get 1 of these and 1 of their single barrel ryes that was a distillery release. They are doing amazing work, and I wish that everyone would shut up or they're going to be extremely hard to find in GA too. Haha

I really wish I pulled the trigger when this was available. I just couldn’t justify $200 on a bottle. Now that I’ve seen Dan hype this up I really want it now.
I just wish the bottle I spent more than that was worth it. I fell for the Magnus Cigar Cut hype and severally let down.
So now it's even harder justify 200 plus bottles not knowing if its hype or really great.
@@SRVandDtroubleI’ve heard that Magnus Cigar just depends on the batch. Both of these that they’ve reviewed gave it massive hype for being delicious. So if it’s better than last year I wish I bought it.

Glass half full: Maybe if enough under the influencers hype this and compare to BTAC it will push the legacy brands to up their game instead of bottom shelfers being allocated bottles.
Glass half empty: Legacy brands will completely ignore the success of a smaller distillery and slap their Buffalos on crap like BBQ seasoning and laugh all the way to the bank.
Glass full of hate: Hyped into extinction I'll spend the rest of my miserable short existence never experiencing this whiskey.

Comparing a Double Oak to Stagg Jr is a bit much. We get it, you love it Dan.

Make sure to use solid colored glasses or you'll never truly "blind" this...
The nose on things like this and coy Hill stand out no matter what glass you use. You don't need the color when they smell like this

Is the "regular" 13th colony worth picking up?
For $35 or so, absolutely. It won't blow you away like their special releases, but it's a very enjoyable bourbon.
I don't know of any craft bourbon competing with their pricing and quality.
walked into a liquor store in Waleska, GA today and they had three bottles. $700 each. So much for that fantasy.

More unobtanium, whiskey I will never be able to acquire. Have to live vicariously through Dan and Sean's review. I knew about the 2023 release of the 13th Colony Double Oaked, tried to buy a bottle online and it literally sold out in a matter of seconds. However, I did pick up a bottle of their Rye, which I am eager to try since the Double Oaked will forever be unattainable. Another note, Bourbon Outfitters doesn't ship to MN, so will you be adding other distributors than just them?

MSRP in GA was $130 which is incredible for this bottle. Online MSRP was higher
