I'm unable to stop staring at how perfectly the level of the Remus on the wall lines up the the bottom of the shelf to its left. That is OCD perfection.
I really like Dans list. Even though all but one is finished, the finishing can add such complexity of flavors to the whisky that is just an experience. Also like how he threw in a few cheaper options like Top Floor. That’s my go to crushable whisky.
I was at sagamore this weekend and the port was 100. I did like it but I only gonna buy 1 bottle and I liked the sherry finish better, so went with that one. But I do recommend checking out sagamore if you’re in the area.
So the double barrel on the fort Hamilton I believe is a bit of a misnomer. It is the blending of 2 different barrels not rebarreled. I sampled some of their rye distillate sent to me by the owner for a barrel pick and it is pretty good.
Had the Bardstown orgin bourbons last September when I did a tour. Really enjoyed all 3, but the high rye was my favorite. Tried them all straight from the barrel at about 126 proof, and they were great.
Good video. I am not sure if I will see any of these in our area. I dol like what you did for your bottle storage in the back. Looks great lit up like it is.
@Dan you pronounced Boordy Vinyards right (board-ie). I drive by Boordy on my way to work each day. A lot of folks (wine snobs) don't like Boordy cause their wines are particularly very sweet and are often compared to basically being Welch's grape fruit juice. That being said, I can 100% see how that would lead to being solid barrels for finishing whiskey. Love the lineup on this video. Keep doing great things, fellas. I'm cheering you on.
I am in Texas and appreciate fine whiskey from all over - but especially Kentucky - and love Rebecca Creek (with the exception of their BiB which I think is overpriced at $50 for what it is). The Double Barrel Spanish Oak from Rebecca Creek is so good, I'm on my 3rd bottle! Absolutely delicious desert whiskey worth every penny!
Been searching for the Chatt Cab Finish for weeks and finally got my hands on it today. So stoked to grab it and it fully held up. Was absolutely floored by it. Big fan!
Michigan guy here I was shocked how much I enjoyed new Holland origins And Bardstown white label is fucking fantastic for the price and availability.. beats out every other 40ish bottle whiskey that’s not rare breed.. maybe put it above four roses single barrel which is hard for me to say out loud
I have to give the win to Sean just because he put Starlight in there since Im the ultimate fanboy. But the best bottle in the video might be that Sagamore, they are killing everything they put out! So a very close 2nd to Dan. Overall, a great list and some bottles that everyone needs to have on their shelves!
@@davidvoth7218 any of their family reserve bottles that they put out on Repeal Day are always exceptional. As far as more easily found bottles, Honey finished rye, Rum finished rye, Double oaked bourbon and rye, and probably Pineau de Charentes finished rye would be my top 5 that I currently have.
Haven't tried the port yet, but I've compared the Starlight Sherry Finish and Sagamore Sherry Finish side by side and the Starlight took the win for me.
How the heck do I know which list is better. I haven’t even heard of 8 of these picks. So much Bourbon out there. I should have started sooner in life. Thanks for the content fellas.
I think High & Wicked is sourced from New Riff (undisclosed sources). If that is truly is the case you are better off getting a barrel pick of their rye. or the 100% malted rye. amazing juice.
2 days ago i had a blind from a friend of benchmark single barrel, benchmark full proof and buffalo trace. Benchmark full proof won by a mile, then the single barrel and buffalo trace took last. Also sean had a better lineup somehow.
Gotta go with Sean here. I love the starlight finishes, especially the VDN and Cigar batches. Also, gotta love Chattanooga whiskey. A brand that ive been obsessed with recently is New Riff, there stuff is awesome.
Speaking of Justin’s House of Bourbon… you should do a discuss video about the investigation that was released the other day. Curious to hear your perspective on the whole situation and how it might affect the market in the future
I think you misquoted the price on this year's sagamore port finish. It's $100 at the distillery. That said, you're completely right, better than Midwinters Act 10, at least to me. Great list!
Live right next to Rebecca Creek in the state that Sean had a hard time pronouncing. Will say that one is dang good. Definitely their best release I've had.
Love y’all’s channel! Do you guys have a video about that wall and it’s set up? That’s sick! I’m doing a whiskey/cigar room and would love something like those single bottle lighted shelves
Really cool that you did the Diet Coke for Mom.A+I (in my opinion) wish I could see you guys responces if there are any. But in essence that makes my comment “One Sided” Hopefully I will figure out how to see responses because I’ve been watching you guys for 5-6 years and ya make it fun
If you could break into the video, ninja style, and grab 2 bottles without Sean & Dan noticing, which 2 bottles would you grab??? Mine would be Stagg & Old Carter. But that’s just because 1910 isn’t on the wall. It’s “a cherry pop tart on a traeger!” Lol. ❤ you guys!!! But be sure to lock the studio!!!
Dan the Sagamore port 2022 release is amazing I love it. It’s alot better then batch 10 of MWND. That being said I think it’s basically distillery only this year not nearly as wide as the sherry finish which is also fire
I was able to get a bottle of Rare Character Kentucky Rye that is BBC first run at 95/5... it is absolutely incredible. When their own rye distillate reaches 6 years the single barrel program will be loaded
Great video. The 3 most recent bottles I've bought are Starlight, Sagamore, and Bardstown. All hitters. I look forward to trying some of your other recommendations.
For variety and budget, Dan wins easily. But Vampire could easily flip that say "I win for bougie, since I recommended this limited H&W cask strength that is already sold out." Now he'll say "I didn't recommend that one" but then he wants to compare it to Dan's Pursuit United pick...
Sean, been on the fence about the Cab Chatt. I love their Single Barrels and haven’t loved many wine finished bourbons. I am now going to be 60 smackers poorer. Thanks! #TEAMDAN😂
Depends who you are. In my experience people who are huge buffalo trace fans dont like the full proof much, and people who are not big buffalo trace fans think its the worst one. Im personally of the opinion that full proof is by far the best, but im also rarely into bt products.
I'm unable to stop staring at how perfectly the level of the Remus on the wall lines up the the bottom of the shelf to its left. That is OCD perfection.
😱ohhhhhh so satisfying
Sagamore is just knocking it out of the park lately with their finished ryes. The Sherry, Port and Rum cask finishes were fanfreakingtastic
I appreciate this review. I will picking up Segamore Rye And Stonehammer when I next see it.
Thaks
For a non-finished Sagamore, go with the 8 Year Reserve Series. Cask strength 8 year rye for $75 is hard to beat.
Loved Dan's dig right out the gate and making that Early Times metal screw cap comment.
I was 9-1/2 lbs when I was born and I was a month early. Spent a month in the preemie ward with all the 2lb babies. Nurses called me The Hulk.
How tall are you now though?
@@easye47 5'7". It didn't last, lol.
@@danrudnick5252 I was also 9 1/2 pounds and I got to 6’3. Crazy how that happens
I was premie at about a month and a half early, 5lb’er & spent a month in the premie ward as well i got to 6’3
Sounds like gestational diabetes. Kids come out big but need extra support just for a few weeks.
I really like Dans list. Even though all but one is finished, the finishing can add such complexity of flavors to the whisky that is just an experience. Also like how he threw in a few cheaper options like Top Floor. That’s my go to crushable whisky.
Just picked up the both Bardstown Origin series. Both are great, wheated is greater.

So glad that Rebecca Creek made the list. Such a great bottle. And only 54ish bucks.
Recently went to Fort Hamilton and did a tasting. Their cask strength rye was really good. If you can get your hands on that, I think you’d like it.
The pick I bought is a cask strength rye its great!
The sagamore port is legit!! It also wins it for Dan because that bottle is fantastic!! Cheers
Had the Bardstown orgin bourbons last September when I did a tour. Really enjoyed all 3, but the high rye was my favorite. Tried them all straight from the barrel at about 126 proof, and they were great.
Benchmark Top Floor, Bonded & Full Proof are limited releases...not distributed to many states.
Gotta go with Dan's list. Sometimes those younger and less expensive whiskies need a little help with some finishing.
Good video. I am not sure if I will see any of these in our area. I dol like what you did for your bottle storage in the back. Looks great lit up like it is.

Love this video idea guys. My hitter is Sagamore double oak. Just so freaking tasty.
I have the sherry sagamore, it's fantastic. Very rich, like chocolate raspberry cake.
Stumbled across that Bardstown for under 50. I had to read it 2x, 6 yr old of their own stuff...and it's great.
The Woodenville Port Finished Rye is also a MWND comparator and at about 40% of the cost. Great bottle just impossible to find outside of WA.
Just tried a 7 year Sagamore barrell pick, and hot damn! It’s hard to imagine beating that one, except maybe a finished one
Sean, without a doubt wins with his list.

What do you guys think of Russell's Reserve for a $30-40???
Sagamore Rye Sherry Finished is also a hitter

Fort Hamilton is an army base in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn NY. Walking distance from where I used to live.
Just picked up the white label Bardstown for $45. I live in Michigan. Looking forward to popping it tonight

This is how we know I (Dan) won... Because you agree with Sean hahahaha

he was giving me crap for my $90 recommendation too!
Did they go up? I got my sherry for 78
@@GamerNxUSN the 2022 port finish sagamore was aged for a collective period of 8 years which had them push the price up for that bottle.
That high rye origin from Bardstown is fucking awesome. Such a crushable bottle
Live right next to Rebecca Creek in the state that Sean had a hard time pronouncing. Will say that one is dang good. Definitely their best release I've had.
That Bardstown origins is so good....and available!
The Key & Peele insert was hysterical 😂

We might on an old vlog
Green spot is a pretty amazing Irish whiskey. If you haven't had that I HIGHLY recommend 👌
Since you guys mentioned Justin’s you should talk about the ATF raid that happened there a few weeks ago.
Fort Hamilton rye is delicious. If you can find a higher proof store pick 👏👍
Sean's list was better overall, but Dan finished strong with the Sagamore (tie for first between Sagamore and Bardstown)
Sean recommend that Chatty Cabernet finish. That’s enough to completely discount his opinion. Just awful! 🤢🤮
So, only 3 of the 10 can be found in a store in MI? Which online retailers are the ones who avoid MI shipping restrictions?
I've been enjoying Legent lately. The neck pour is a little grainy and young, but after it gets some air into it; solid.
So how does one get these whiskies? Most of them are not available in Michigan.
Got that Chattanooga for my birthday. It’s a hitter.
I couldn’t agree more with the RC Double Barrel. My local store was selling their pick for only $45 so I bought a few. Just crazy good.
I also must say I have a bottle of Mellick bourbon I really love this bottle
The Chattanooga’s have become a favorite…. The Cabernet, Cask, and Founders are excellent…

So bartstown is getting rid of the fusion series and they have a bottle and bonded coming out and it so good check it out when u see it
Sagamore sherry finish was better than the port finish imho but both were/are 🔥
Ever had Ben Holladay bottled in bond bourbon from Missouri?
I love the hoodie Sean. Is it available for purchase anywhere? I couldn't find it on your site
Shoutout to Chatt Whiskey!! Love the Cabernet finish
Loving this!!!
Next time you’re in Brooklyn, be sure to stop by!
Cheers 🥃
That Benchmark Top Floor is $13.50 in Houston. 💪💪💪
So they're basically giving it away 😂
Dan the Sagamore port 2022 release is amazing I love it. It’s alot better then batch 10 of MWND. That being said I think it’s basically distillery only this year not nearly as wide as the sherry finish which is also fire
Probably the best Sean haircut I’ve seen to date. 😅
The Bardstown Origins Rye is fantastic. Once it finally goes retail, you gotta try it. The BiB is super good too
I was able to get a bottle of Rare Character Kentucky Rye that is BBC first run at 95/5... it is absolutely incredible. When their own rye distillate reaches 6 years the single barrel program will be loaded
I thought the new Sagamore Port was distillery only or otherwise very limited? Price also sounds too low.
Yea people have commented that it's actually $100
Going to Holland this week, can you buy Origin at the Distillery?
Pretty sure you can
@@BourbonJunkies got it, a couple of the single malts and the amazing Wheater they have!
I plan on buying Bardstown 8 next week. After that, probably just staple rebuys.
love the list! Is that an Octamore on the shelf back there?
Yes it is
Starlight is killing it right now. Great stuff over there
Rebecca Creek is a good mixer or neat in a pinch. They model their flavor profile on Crown.
My son told me that Sledgehammer at Fred Meyer (Kroger) in Monroe, WA is $25.00.
I totally just got the Rebecca Creek for my cousin and myself when I was in Texas! Haven’t gotten into it yet, but excited
the audio is so much better when you use the mics vs the ones with the mic arms
Kills me to say this but Sean’s list clubbed Dan’s to death😂

How did you find the cask strength high n wicked? Couldn't find it anywhere online and I haven't seen it in any stores
Being honest it was sent to us, but we have heard people finding it in the wild. There will be more batches, excited to see them
I really enjoy the little descriptions under yalls names.
Have you guys tried any of the tim smith line?
Where the hell did you guys find this year's port finish for 80? It's 99 at the distillery, and I didn't think it had any distribution yet.
I think Dan was just wrongly stating the price
I haven’t had the Bardstown Origin rye mash bourbon. The wheater bib is fantastic.
That is our Monday review, we really liked both though!
Dan's so hammered!😂😂 love it cheers 🥃
Big Starlight fan. The number of SL bottles in my collection is getting up there.

Love Top Floor. $14 here too!
So, great content as always!
I've been waiting for you guys to review anything from Chattanooga Whiskey Co. to validate my love for this distillery. Full disclosure, I love malt.

I have a Store Pick from Makers Mark that’s ridiculous and it’s Cask Strength I need to send
I think you gents and I should have a sit down and a couple of drinks.
Starlight is amazing. I've had their port finish and its excellent. My favorite is their Cigar Batch. Check it out!
