The One RS can shoot both normal and 360 video thanks to the two lenses that comes in the box. The Hero 11 can shoot just standard video but at a higher resolution.
The most direct comparison is between the Hero 11 and the Insta360 One RS 4K Boost Lens, however the 360 lens also allows you to create unique shots so you'll also find footage from that too.

Thank you for the great comparison. One thing I like to point out though is the big price difference if you’re not getting the Insta 360 with the additional 360° lens. So, with a more apples to apples comparison of the two cameras, you can get into the Insta 360 with 4K boost lens and a mounting frame for $300 retail. It’s currently $450 for the GoPro 11 black. If you don’t need the certain advantages the GoPro 11 offers, the Insta 360 offers a great value right now. All the stuff is also currently on sale, which I took advantage of. Also, the battery life on the Insta is far better. That means fewer batteries on the trail or on the motorcycle or less time having to charge off a power brick. Or not having to recharge at all. Excuse me if said one of these things and I missed it.

I am looking at size comparison of the GoPro 11 vs. Insta360 ONE RS in your video. Second 14. Would you say with a GoPro case, the two different action cameras are about same size?
I am thinking of switching over to Insta360 ONE RS, but have a little concern about size.
GoPro takes the best video, period.
The problem is that both the 10 and 11 are plagued with overheating issues and instability when you shoot in 4k60 and higher. They overheat within minutes a lot of the time. Last summer I had a GoPro 9 that would just randomly lock up and require the battery to be pulled to reset. Fairly common problem with the 9. So I got the 10. Even mounted to the handlebar of a motorcycle in the direct flow of the air, it would usually overheat on a summer day within 10 min and shut down. That's with 100mph wind flowing over it.
I called customer service and they said that was normal, that to keep it from overheating, you have to limit video to 30fps. I asked to speak to her supervisor and he told me the same thing, that the GoPro 10 is not really designed to shoot 60 frames at 4k for anything longer than a few minutes.
From what I see, the 11 is no better. Overheating and stability issues. I don't understand how a company can keep putting out flawed products and still be the "top dog" in the industry...

hi thanks for you're video . please no one talk about live streaming with the 360 rs . How that work for connect with twitch ? can we connect the rs to internet with wi-fi ? with modem or only with cellular network ? can we zoom during the live stream etc etc . Can you do a video and test live stream ?
The One RS seems to trade off a bit of resolution and detail for much more dynamic range and better low light capability. I think I'll be going for the OneRS on this one.

Great video. I returned my GoPro 11. It’s super buggy. I have a GoPro 8 and paid for the GoPro app which I will not renew the subscription. I also will never buy another GoPro. I did order an x3. I wouldn’t not recommend GoPro after owning two of them.

360 mod has 1/2.3 inch sensors. Same as Insta360 One X2.

The smaller screen on the back of the Insta360 helps keep the camera cool and less likely to shutdown due to overheating.

What is happening at 4:27 with your eyes? Is that the seam line and will that always happen when people are around the camera (noticable seam lines if that's what it is)?
Do both cameras keep repeating sharp to blury (example 4:30)? I'm guessing that it's the auto focus constantly adjusting but wondering of that is normal with the two (and other) action cams? Is there a way to slow or stop that always do it, like infinity focus on a slr/dslr camera if it is auto focusing issues? Or is it a stabalization issue?

I heard that it is a must to reframe for 1RS 360degree len while 4k len doesn't required. Is this true as I couldn't find any review in this..
I hesitated to get 1 RS due to having to reframe b4 posting on media as it was kinda troublesome..

Just bought a One RS with a spare battery for £250. Then they sent an additional spare battery as a freebie. Having knackered my X3 and had it replaced at a fair price I have to say I love Insta360 so far.
How do you transfer pics from insta to phone? Via bluetooth?

You can buy it with just the 4K boost lens, you don't have to buy it with both lenses.
@@bumblerbumble9843 how you will compare this 4k boost to phone like Galaxy S8? I am testing 4k 30 in low light and i can tell you that S8 is pretty much terrible at low light comparing to this what i see here on this video Insta 360 r.
@@allstarbury It's more specialized in filming pretty much anything, I'd just get the insta360 to be honest. Keep in mind that you'd need an extra battery or keep it wired to feed it power throughout your trip of course. Also, don't forget to get an extra SD card (max 128gb) OR you can just offload the footage on a laptop etc once in a while.
@@007bogossemre007 yes i have usb port for external power supply i have question .There are about 3 or 4 viewing angles i dont want to use too wide i dont want any part of dash board and this wont be easy task

I just wanted to ask whether you can use any of those cameras while charging them with a powerbank or car plug. With the GoPro8 was possible, but it was breaking down with the hyperlapse and i've heard about that with gopro11, too.
You can power the one rs with a USB c to lipo battery. I only know this because fpv drones. Also, you can always download a chrome extension that lets you slow or speed up videos by small increments
Am I right to say that the 4k Boost is worse compared to the GoPro video? I know that's true comparing the 360 camera, because it has less resolution for the frame.
Honestly, the Insta360 RS can film in Widescreen 6k which looks superior to anything the Hero 11 Black can do... At least if you are going for a true Cinematic look. The 6k mode is a true 1:2.35 ratio -- looks like most feature films.
That why insta360 made it possible to see camera view from your phone
Great video, I'm looking to get myself an action camera mainly for Motorcycling, and I'm undecided as to whether to get a hero 11 or a One RS.
Is the smoothing on the RS as good as hyper smooth on the GoPro? And can you attach the One RS directly to a motorcycle helmet, either on the side or front without the claw?
Plus also, is the One RS as robust as the GoPro's are?
I hear mixed reviews about GoPro, so I'm just trying to make the best decision on which to get, both have a sale on currently.

Hey Hi Chris, being a biker myself I loved how the oneRS captures the details without any stutter and overheating unlike the gopro 11 and its predecessors. Plus you get tons of features on insta rather than the gopros. Hope this helps.

The One RS seem janky with artifacts when panning. I wonder if it has been addressed in firmware upgrades since this video came out.

Mine doesn’t, I think that was an artifact of editing. If you look close at the GoPro, does it too, but to a lesser degree.
@mrtmax4973 I ended up with the DJI. I went hiking today and had deer run out in front of me and behind me within 10 feet. Luckily, I had it running.

You forgot to ADD the GP battery in/out/in/out to make it function, however long that lasts!
thanks for the review...i would love to buy the DJI Oxmo 4 but its much pricier in my country than either of these...the insta 360 is the cheapest in my country Mexico...for me i do mtb so image stabilization is very important
i went with 360 mainly for longer battery life and less bugs
