Jane Foster Thor was a deeply heroic story. She wielded Mjolnir despite her illness. But she loved it too as any human would. Flawed, tragic, heroic.

Yelena already learned about what happened with Natasha in 'Hawkeye' from Clint himself. If she's gonna be on the Thunderbolts, it won't be due to she wants revenge or something, it'll be due her wanting to be on the team (or being blackmailed, etc).

My feeling is Natalie Portman agreed to come back for a one and done appearance. She is the hero who gets the man in this movie, and then dies from her cancer with Thor heartbroken at the end of the movie. This will almost certainly be the last solo Thor movie, but Hemsworth may well be down to continue to appear as Thor in cosmic Avengers / Guardians movies in perpetuity, but only once every 5 years or so.

Jane Foster's cancer could be a result from Thor 2. When she held the essence of a infinite stone. As a side effect.
And the hammer peices came to her during a treatment. She starts putting the puzzle peices together as a way to pass time.

Does this video explain how she learned how to fight? That's all I want. How does a nurse/ astro physicist become a warrior? This is my problem with MCU Shuri (not comic Shuri).Is Jane just going to fight jobbers, spam Thor's powers, or actually "throw hands"? What happens when someone as strong as her punches her in the face, I'd expect her to crumple. Crushing jobbers I get, even stepping onto the same battlefield as Gorr, miss me.
That’s my exact problem with both of the mcu versions of characters it’s just not believable to me I can’t see shuri from that last movie being black panther don’t add up Jane foster here gives me the same vibes
Jane Foster can barely walk without Mjolnir, she’s half dead, the hammer doesn’t change into Jane Foster with Mjolnir, she becomes The Mighty Thor, the way she moves, acts and speaks are all totally different, she inherits the knowledge and power of a God, of course she knows how to fight.
All of this is really obvious even in the first couple of issues.

@UA-cam Channel Wakanda seems to have a strong warrior culture. I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of those countries with a mandatory 2 years of service for young adults, or that T'Chacka still had his other child learn the basics of combat in case something happened to T'Challa.
Replace Thor with Jane Thor in comics, no problem. But in the MCU we got Chris Hemsworth. I could not see him get replaced, at least not by Natalie Portman. However, as long as both exist and she doesn't replace him or whatever, I'm cool
When Jane's run first came out the only nitpick I had was someone else being named Thor. I never saw his name as a title, he wasn't born Jim Odinson, it was his given name. But I then got over it and stopped caring because her story, the artwork, and pretty much everything about her run is amazing imo.
I think it's cool and brings the marvel Thor into his own light outside of the mythological character
I disliked that aspect and I dislike it concerning the upcoming movie. Did Captain America become Thor when he lifted the hammer? Nope. Marvel seems to follow their rules only when is suits them.

@@JDRamos213 at the end of the day, as a young adult, i always remember this and teach my children this. Its all fiction. Its okay to be upset about change but if you expect a multi-billion dollar company to care that a pool of people are upset that a character has the same title/name as another hero, thats just sad.
Would not be surprised if they "Rise of Skywalker" it and have Thor bring Jane back to life with a kiss at the cost of his own and if this happens I'm gonna be pissed.
They should keep Chris Hemsworth to be all father Thor and play a less significant role in the MCU, just keep him to kick some hard as in an Avengers movie

There has been a supposed leak for a few years now that said that Thor would join a cosmic Avengers team, while Jane stayed as a Earth based Avenger.
I also heard that Taika was asked about Thor being killed off and he responded by saying he never heard of any plans to do that.
Natalie Portman will probably live. I think it'll be Chris Hemsworth pulling a sacrifice move to kill Gorr. I think they took his power to it's max (MCU wise) now they'll use Portman and be able to have her come into her own and not live in Hemsworth Thor's shadow. Honestly who the hell knows though.
Option 3: We get beta ray bill coming to claim storm breaker and disappears back to wherever (his own universe or just wherever he was since he left Sakkar) thus leaving odinson to go on a journey to figure out who he is again.
We as the fans have invested so much time on Chris’s Thor for it to come to a end and be replaced by a different Thor. It would not sit well with some folks.
But there’s one question I have. In the MCU, Jane gets Asgardian Armor. Why didn’t Cap get that in The Endgame?
Also, I think Natalie Portman will give up Mjollnir, and become a new Valkyrie

Those type of guys are a small percentage. For the most part, the complaints about her were fair.
IDK why, but I just kinda have a feeling that both of them will live. It may not end up being 2 Thor's existing at the same time, but I do think both Jane and Odinson will both be alive by the end of the movie.
Valkyrie is looking for a queen, so maybe her and Jane hook up. Maybe Jane becomes a Valkyrie like she is in the comics. Maybe they'll use her to set up for that A-Force movie people have been talking about.
Maybe Thor retires. Maybe Thor goes back with the Guardians. Maybe Thor or Jane gets stuck in time somehow fighting Gorr keeping him at bay or whatever.
Like I said, IDK. All I know is I feel like they will both be alive, though I don't know what state or states they'll both be in by the end, whether it be one of the ones I stated or another one I didn't even think of.

Haha Rob, “there’s 2 Spider-Man in the comics…” at one point there were 5, and 4 of them were biologically Peter Parker. We also had 4 Wolverines at one point, 2 lots of X-Men, 2 Thors, 4 Hulks, 2 Iron Mans, 2 Caps, 2 Hawkeyes and I’m sure there are more.

Except that most of those other versions have their own titles. Those various main universes Spiderman and Spiderwomen don't go by Spiderman, that's just Peter. Why can't Jane have her own title?
X23 should have kept the name instead of taking Wolverine's title, however she is blood, so passing it down is closer to birthright.

The actual problem, as I see it, is that "Thor" is somehow both the dude's name and a title/persona that can be passed on. So, Thor doesn't stop being Thor because he lost Mjolnir - that was sort of a major theme in Thor: Ragnarok - but Jane wielding it also _turns her into Thor._ Even though Thor is still Thor and always will be. It's damn confusing.
This is all because Odin set it up so that Donald Blake would turn into Thor when he used the hammer, and because of this Mjolnir inexplicably has the ability to turn other people into _a_ Thor. Which doesn't even make sense because Donald Blake was the fake identity, not the other way around. It's as if wearing Superman's suit gave you all of his powers but Clark Kent still gets to keeps his, and then you both have equal claim to being Superman.
(Peter Parker and Miles Morales is a similar issue: The problem isn't that there are two of them but rather that they're both Spiderman.)
Anyway, there's no real reason we can't have both Thor and Jane the Thunder Goddess at the same time, except that the latter necessarily has to be called Thor as well due to what is basically a technicality.

It's easy to fit Jane Foster and Odinson into the MCU together both as Thor. Valkyrie says she doesn't want to be king anymore, she's tired of the meetings and all the bs. So you have Odinson and Jane become king/queen of New Asgard.
I loved how Jane in the comics was basically her acting the way she believes gods should act. Her entire arc was beautiful and extremely well executed

I didn't hate Jane foster but I felt like she should be her own character not a thor..like give her, her own weapon and powers since she was exposed to the reality stone she should have some dope powers like wanda

I greatly enjoyed Jason Aaron's Mighty Thor run. Jane Foster's Thor is one of my favorite characters and her arc as the Goddess of Thunder kicked ass. One thing that I thought was a missed opportunity on Jason Aaron's part is how we never saw Foster/Gorr cross paths. They have several notable similarities and differences that would make such a meeting memorable. Unlike Gorr, a mortal wielding the power of a god that ultimately became the one thing he hated the most, Jane Foster is a mortal whose ascension into godhood ended up proving Gorr wrong. I can't wait to see these two face-off in Thor Love and Thunder.
I mean, there are tons of spider men and women, multiple green lanterns, a whole bat family, iron man, war machine, and iron heart, I think audiences can handle multiples. Everyone collectively shat themselves over 3 spider men in No Way Home right? Loki introduced variants (nice in-joke about variant covers lol) and everyone seemed good with it.
I believe Natalie Portman's probably going to die and they're going to continue to use Chris Hemsworth. She doesn't seem too interested in more superhero movies, I'm surprised they got her to come back for this one

They will probably bring Thors story full circle and make him king of asgard. Val looks like she doesn't want to rule anyways. That way they can say thor is always busy ruling so that's why you don't see him.

My theory:
Valkyrie dies. Jane becomes the new Valkyrie.
Thor Odinsson becomes the new ruler of Asgard, retiring from his "Thor" role.
The new THOR will be truly introduced in Guardians 3....Beta Ray Bill.
I was mostly mad about Jane also being called a Thor. Thor is a name, not a title. Thor is Thor, everybody else is not Thor. It's like saying that Marco is a title.
I never got to read her run in the comics only the narrative version but all in all it was a pretty dope way to go and continue on with the effects of Gorr

Thing is though, even as Wolverine she is still X-23. the X-23 name actually has its own meaning, the 23rd attempt to clone Weapon X, so even though she may not go by that name anymore that is still who she is.

I thought that story made sense actually. 616 Logan was dead at the time (so 2 years or so with the character out of commission) but even in Universe the superhero community felt like it needed a Wolverine. Laura, Logan's biological daughter and most devoted sidekick since Jubilee seemed like a good step up.

Pretty sure we'll get Jane Foster in the future after Thor 4 because Natalie Portman was going on about wanting to do a Thor (Jane Foster) and Captain Marvel movie. This leads me to believe she's alive and well at the end of the movie.
Well, depends on contract negotiations. Disney could just say that Jane Foster is the new Thor and have a lower salary for her until she's too expensive than replace her with a new thor.
How I really want it: Have the storyline where Jane Foster continues to be Thor and everytime she uses the powers she gets cancer faster. Develop Thor and Jane's relationship they have a kid and both Thor and Jane die in their last Thor movie together. Their kid becomes the new Thor.

I sure hope Hemsworth sticks around. His experience with the OG avengers puts him in a great position to sort of “lead by example” in the MCU in a been there, done that kinda way. Also, I’ll be really bummed if i don’t get to see his arm get ripped off and replaced by the destroyer armor
How about this: After the final battle with Gorr, we see time stop and Loki comes through one of the gateways from the TVA. Since Thor technically has the Odinforce now, Loki knows that this type of power is the only thing that can possibly put a dent in Kang’s plan, so after an emotional reunion he goes off with him. This leaving just Jane Foster’s Thor as the only Thor in this particular Universe.
I never had a problem with Jane Foster "Goddess of Thunder", I had a problem with Jane Foster "Thor". Because she approprated Thor Odinson's name. Thor isn't a Title, it's his name. I know Odin enchanted Mjolnir with the "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor". Note is says "power of Thor" not name of Thor. But that was my only nitpick about Jane Foster Goddess of Thunder, other than that I loved the stories written for her.
I see this so often and it's just such a juvenile take. The story is about Odinson's self doubt. He becomes unworthy so he doesn't even want to consider himself Thor anymore. It's an identity crisis, hence why he calls Jane Thor. Getting hung up on this just means you don't at all understand the story lmao. Reading comprehension is very important

Beta Ray Bill, Thunder Strike (except for the brief time he had to pretend to be "thor" because Thor was banished, Masterson only transfroms to "look" like Thor so the Avengers/Earth wouldn't realise that Thor was missing) Roger "Red" Norvell never actually took Odinson's name. The ONLY person to take Thor's actual name is Jane Foster (Again, that is the fault of the writers, not the character). So maybe you should take your own advice about "Reading comprehension" because you clearly don't have it. The answer is they keep both, likely we'll end up with a Mighty Thor TV spin off for Jane Foster and Chris Hemsworth will probably stay the main Thor for a bit before they give him a massive send off. The reason a lot of characters got written off is because the actors where either getting too old or wanted to move on, and Chris Hemsworth has loved hamming up Thor so I reckon he's not going anywhere for a bit
Rob if the intentions are still to give us these Avenger’s end game experience, what if they give us Rune King Thor? And by the end of the battle, Thor goes into the Odin sleep, and we get Jane Foster going forward?
Odinson Thor dies or just goes off to travel and leaves his hammer behind. Jane Foster gets her time as Thor. When secret wars happens (already been confirmed they are doing it) in the next 5 years we get all the OG avengers back for a cameo like No Way Home where they help the new avengers with the threat.
My answer. Quan Chi kills then BOTH, nobody gets the hammer.

Why does Gor have a NOSE!!!?
Plot twist: They both live and, along with Valkyrie (w/ Zeus' lightning power) and Bojack Hor-I mean Beta Ray Bill-form the Thor Corps.
These two characters can easily exist side-by-side because they essentially become a power couple roaming the universe. The next iteration of the Avengers doesn't HAVE to have a version of all the original characters and it probably shouldn't. The next Avengers will probably feature Shang-Chi, Captain Marvel, and whoever else should they choose to have a team with that name. They don't even have to have a New Avengers. Phase 4 is still all about branching out in as many directions as possible and covering as many demographics as possible. If they are going to offer up a hint of what comes next for the wider meta then that is going to be teased (probably) at SDCC next month.
I think Hemsworth is willing to play Thor for as long as they'll have him around, and Natalie Portman might do this movie and then step down from the role except for a few appearances here and there.
Still not calling her Jane FosThor, huh? Anyway...
Ok, so... First, something offtopic cause I really want to get it off my mind:
Am I the only one who noticed in the Thor 4 trailer, that Jane is able to disassemble Mjolnir to its broken pieces when she throws it? I just thought it's a really neat little idea. :)
So, on your question, here are some options:
1. Thor dies. Jane becomes the new Thor. - Gorr kills Thor then Jane kills Gorr and, BOOOM, there you have it. Instantly establishing a brand new strong female character in a classic Disney fashion.
Not sure I like this option that much, but if Thor is to die, then I can think of noone better than Gorr to kill him.
2. Jane dies. Thor remains in the MCU for some more time. - Both together defeat Gorr, Jane dies of her cancer. Thor harnesses Jane's lifeforce to achieve the Thorforce. He becomes the most powerful being in the universe, but he's heartbroken.
So, in some future film he turns insane/evil, and Mjolnir leaves him cause he's no longer worthy and it goes to Beta Ray Bill, who will have to kill Thor for good and take his place as the God of thunder, the defender of Asgard, the Mightiest Avenger, or whatever is his current title.
3. Thor dies. Jane dies after some time as well. - They defeat Gorr together. Thor dies of his wounds. Jane is drained of her powers, so she dies of her cancer some time after. However, Jane was pregnant and manages to give birth to a princeling of Asgard before she dies.
Valkyrie takes the child to some place in the universe where time passes faster, so in a couple of years the child (already grown up at this point) returns to join the fun. Maybe Beta Ray Bill is also there as some kind of mentor alongside Valkyrie who's the best nanny.
4. Both Thor and Jane die. - Either they die as they take Gorr down, or he outright kills them and then gets defeated by Beta Ray Bill (who was kept in deep secret and suddenly appears in the movie) who wields Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, All-black, Zeus' lightning, and Yondu's arrow all at once, kinda like Thor did in the comics.
In any case, BRB gets to be the new Thor.
I think Thor will continue to deal with Cosmic threats and not be on earth. Jane will remain on earth as Thor with earth level threats. She’s going to join the Avengers or maybe become a Valkyrie.
The actual problem is woke identity politics and virtue signaling it. Deconstructing a character and bringing up another. Those fans like me are being called racist and homophobic. We have legitimate reasons to not like something we have been fans of for years. I'm fine with change and I do not care what someone is. Don't alienate and bait and switch the fans then call them out when they don't like something. Fans don't have to like everything, you Rob don't like everything and if you don't know something you say so which are things I admire about you most, you tell us the truth. That's all I'm doing here.

I think both will live. Odinson will stay out in the galaxy serving as the all father finally replacing Odin protecting all the planets that have had their gods killed by Gorr and Jane Foster will become Earths protector. That way Hemsworth can take a break and they can role him back in at anytime and Thor and Jane get their happy ending!

@@JDRamos213 its what marvel are doing with all their characters. Falcon replaced Cap, Kate is replacing Clint as Hawkeye, Jennifer will replace Bruce as the Hulk, Yelena is replacing Nat as the black widow etc etc. Jane Foster will be Thor going forward.
@@TheRev. That's not what the fans want to see.... the reason the comics work is because the icons are still there... take away the iconic characters and you won't have anything left.
@@JDRamos213 thats why the MCU is different, the comics can stay the same as the characters never age but on screen they will and Marvel will need to keep bringing in new talent to keep the franchise going. And as for what fans want not one of us can say we know what fans want as everyone has a different opinion. I think Jane as the Mighty Thor is a great addition to the MCU and an interesting way to take it forward.

I'm sure the introduction of characters like She Hulk, Kate Bishop and Jane Foster Thor is primarily contingency planning for when actors of the established characters leave.
My issue with Jane Foster Thor is she's been a no show in the MCU for 9 years so bringing her back now feels a bit forced and very obvious as to why they are doing it. It makes me feel that Hemsworth will be stepping down from his role very soon.
One theory I have is they could flip the story line with her cancer from the comics and make it so the only cure is for her to stay as Mighty Thor. Therefore Odin Son Thor has to relinquish the title or sacrifice himself as a result. I can't see them having two Thors going forward after this movie.

I did fidn the early part of her story interesting, where we were figuring out who the female Thor was (funny is i can't member if someone made a theory that she was Thor from a alternative universe), after it the stories were entertaining with ups and downs. The biggest gripe is still on name, but in the end i have read faaaaar worse things (like how some DC writers doesn't understand how some of the alternative universes work), so in the end don't care much.
The woman in prominant thing in comcs was such a microscopic part of group of ppl who didn't like her, although mainstream media made it seem bigger than it actualy was, but at same time there were ppl who didn't see her as a character but as a tool (something both Marvel and DC love doing with some groups of ppl, what is annoying) as they see women only as such, what was a pretty tiny part as well.
After what happened with Nathalie Portman during and after 2nd Thor movie, i was/am surprised she was coming back. But IF Marvel/Disney continue with Jane Foster Thor, they might go with a diff name in future with her, especially if they keep Thor.

I'm curious why Thor's hammer didn't just come back together after hella "destroyed it"? Why does Jane get to have the hammer re-assemble itself? It's probably like an Iron Man 3 thing, where they threw away the consistency of the Mark armors, even though the Mark armors can take getting hit sigh a missle, with an underpowered arch reactor, and not get destroyed.
I personally don't think that Thor learning that the gods aren't worthy, just because Nick furry agreed with gor, is a good story line, and it.is a mile wide and an inch deep. When you know who you have become after you learned to be selfless, and where you came from and who you may have been in the past, then you may hear the past try and tell you otherwise, but you can say, "I'm not that man anymore. I've changed".
But nah, it will be fine, let's just ignore all of that.
