I think you missed the mark on the software part. It seems the whole point of this laptop is to help your kid learn to program. Dismissing the programming aspect and saying that you would install a stock OS gets rid of most of the value add. It doesn't make sense to compare this to any other normal laptop. A closer comparison might be something like the Pitop but that seems geared more towards working with their sensors and not breadboarding. It does seem too expensive though.
@@IceYetiWins I think it running slower is still kind of missing the point though. If you want to use the laptop like a build it yourself laptop and use it to web browse and play games then its a piece of shit computer that 's way overpriced & over convoluted. The point of the computer from my perspective is it is a teaching tool meant for people to use to learn programming and circuit building. I assume their "bloatware" are teaching tools that go alongside the breadboard and additional things underneath the motherboard such as to teach you how to program and power LED lights, or the controllers like building a game inside of a block programming language/python and playing it. It might be super basic, it might be pretty advanced, It's hard to tell when I know only a little about circuit building and programming, but as an entire kit used to learn on your own, it seems kinda cool to me even if it runs web browsing kinda garbage, because I wouldn't buy it to web browse. I would buy it to learn. Even with that said its still might not for everyone trying to learn programming and circuit building for many other reasons as well.
@@jamesbuccino376 The issue is it's too expensive while still running a lot worse than a normal raspberry pi 4. And if someone really wanted to learn about circuitry and stuff wouldn't it be better to get a raspberry pi 4 and make your own thing for cheaper (and have it run faster)?
