Long story short: I was chosen for an fashion show. I wanted faux locs and am not an good braider, and dont have patience to do the individual braids. I ran across this method, achieved this look in about 90 mins. People thought Id literally had dreads. I can't thank you enough. Oh and I slayed the fashion show btw, heeyyy. You literally single - videoly just changed my entire hair game. I now have an idea as how to do all the hair styles I've been staying away from bc I haven't learned to cornrow! Thank you girl, like thank you thank you!
Taniyah Beale do you have mannequin heads??....practice practice practice...I do hair on the side in home and make good untaxed money while working part time for tax purposes.you can work in a Salon but have to pay the owner rent. wish we could see your friend hair Lil momma..I started doing hair same age
Thank you for this video!!!!! Because of your video, MY HUSBAND was able to do this style on me and our daughter! We saved in a major way! Thanks so much!
Girl I tried this method on myself yesterday & let me tell you, you are brilliant !! I never have energy being that I'm pregnant and this method is perfect ! It didn't take me all day b/c I just did not feel like corn rowing my whole hair !! Thank you so much for this video doll 😘👏
THIS is EVERYTHING!!!! I have no edges lol, so this is a godsend. I won't be putting tension and pressure on what little bit of edges I got left. It's quick, convenient, cost efficient, and a great protective style.
Girl! I'm not gonna lie, I had my doubts about hooooowwwwww in the WORLD this was gonna work when you started doing those plaits. But by the end of the video, I was shocked and amazed to see that it had really worked! There is NOTHING you can't do with crochet hair. You are the CROCHET QUEEN!!
Girl!! I'm glad I found this video. This chick was about to charge me 175 plus the cost of hair to do my locs... nooo ma'am I'll attempt to do it myself.
Heck I shop I went to me quoted me $250 and I would have to supply the hair. I don't have that kind of money plus there no way that I could sit for 6 hours. I am glade that Briana shared her technique. so I going to give it a try.
I tried this method and it came out so beautiful! I'm in week 3 of wearing them and I get so many compliments. Thanks for sharing this! Saved me so much money!
to both of you, the back doesn't look weird without parts? I was hoping to see a 360 view. I want to do this, I'm just wondering how it looks with hair going across your scalp.
This is incredibly well thought-out! Thank you for sharing! As a natural with extremely thick 4C hair, my arms will appreciate this technique. Plus, I'll be free to re-do every 2-3 weeks since it hardly takes any time.
Naturally High. Exactly! I'm right with you on that! My hair is the same..n I just bought crochet hair yesterday wondering how I'm gonna do braid my hair....now I know!
You make me want to try this now ! I'm just a little timid about the crochet method in front I don't really know how to do the latch hook I'll try it though because people out here charging car payments to do these locs lol
I was never interested in wearing locs before but you made this look so easy and effortless. Plus, 4 packs instead of 6 or 7? My pockets like that math! You have a new subscriber! I'm interested to see if this method weeks on other types of crochets. All that cornrowing is for the birds...
Sis you literally saved me. I am not used to putting in my own protective styles and I was about to lose my marbles until I came across this video, I laid my braids down in the back, sewed them down with a net like an old school sew in and crochets the locks in. I am livingggggg for this style and this tutorial. Lazy girl hair slay okurrrrr
This is genius and what a great tutorial. I was hella nervous about trying to do cornrows at the back of my own head. You just saved me hours of stress and work. 🙏🏽
All I have to say is haters will hate. Why is it that over 300 people have given this tutorial a thumbs down. It must be the people with no edges.Or people who prefer to take hours instead an hour or so to do a hairstyle. This method is great for beginners and can be modified according to your liking.I'm more into going to great lengths to protect my natural hair, rather than a ton of tention and hours worth of work.
I love the fact that your natural hair is so long. I have long natural hair and since I can't braid well, I have limited crochet options. Thank you so much for your videos! #lazygirl
Love this lazy girl method! I'm considering trying this rather than spending the whole weekend putting in individual braids...and saving some money too.
Ok WOW, I had no idea where you were going with those big plaits. I was like, Oh, she's getting ready to put on a half dread-loc wig or something....NOT! I'm all about saving time and that is the bomb! My daughter wants locs and I can't wait to install this on her. Thank you soo much for posting! THUMBS ALL THE WAY UP!!
giiirrrrllllllll you betta SLAYYYYY! I already felt like crochet locs were simple and fast..... now you done took it to a whole nother level! yessss! looking forward to trying it
I'm loving that this seems as though there is little to no tension on our own hair. It also seems like I can do the entire process myself. I have the hardest time cornrowing my own hair. Thanks!!!!
omg so pretty! I've been natural for 6 years now, and I just found someone that does these locs for $40! I hope mine are as neat and beautiful! very talented sista!!
Absolutely LOVED this video! I never would have thought of the shortcut in the back with the plaits. I would've had all that cornrowed. You did a fabulous job, honey!
This is genius!!! I want to do box braids but don’t have energy to complete the task. I’m going to do the edges individually but crochet the center. GENIUS!!!! THANK YOU!
You are my new best hair friend LOL! Now this is a technique I'm going to try. I do not know how to cornrow to save my life so this would be the best option for me. Thank you for sharing.
I can't wait to try This! I have been debating on getting someone to do faux locs for me because I can't hold my arms up long. This will be perfect and I can do it myself!
Just an FYI for some asking as I was trying to find an answer in the comments. I did this with the Motowntress Senegalese crochet twists & it did work. I will say the motowntress twists are a little smaller though than the standard/average size small twists (they're kind of micro) so you'll have to layer in the twists a little more in some sections especially around the top of the head but it definitely works. I think with even just slightly bigger twists that the coverage wouldn't be an issue though. I also did two rows at the front with the individual crochet method as opposed to one like in this tutorial but only because I think it worked better with the smaller motowntress twists if I was working with bigger twists one could definitely work although I'd probably maybe still do two rows as I think it looks more natural. & lastly to undo the twists you literally just feel to the top of the twist where you've connected it to your hair or braid & just literally undo it like you would any kind of knot. It's super quick.
Just found your channel and I love your videos. I'm always doing everyone's hair but when it comes to mine I can't do cornrows on my hair to save my life but watching how you use plaits for these amazing looks I'm ready to start experimenting away 🙂
Omg. I have alopecia an this right here is just what I need. I’m so pumped about trying to do this. Cornrows is to much tension for me these days. Thank you for this video. 🌸
Baby Girl, Thank you for this style! I had one problem my hair line reseed back. But, I made it work. I think this will be my go to style for a while. Very easy to put in and I can sleep with out my head hurting. That was a win win for me! Thank you again!
Nice. I think I will try two rows of individual sections all the way around so that I can pull it up in a bun. May take longer but it's worth a shot. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for making this video. I am about to head out of town in 2 days and it doesn't look like Ill be able to make it to the salon for corn rows b/c of the snow storm. So now I can do this myself easily.
Wow now I don't need to look for someone to cornrow my hair and I have REALLY sensitive perimeter so I will be trying this!! Will comment again once I have done it. thanks! xoxo
That is by far easiest way to do and I'm definitely going to try because I have done the individual crochet box braids and it takes me 7-8hrs to do it.
This is so freakin genius!!! I’ve been doing my individual wrapped faux locs now for over a year. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, and they look very natural, but they take FOREVER.
