I had a burned hole in one of my vinyl windows from the previous owner, he had closed up the unit with the kitchen stove still being hot, I covered the hole with two vinyl decals, bought two identical decals and put one on the inside and one on the outside sandwiching the hole, now it just looks like I am patriotic.

I had a pop up tent trailer that periodically got mold spots on the tip outs. This is nearly impossible to avoid because you are bound to leave any campsite with some organic material on the canvas. Because your trailer is closed for travel and storage that organic material will begin to breakdown and cause mold. Canvas is very difficult to clean because it can be damaged by almost any cleaner except soap and water. That’s where the hydrogen peroxide comes in. Simply open up your trailer on a warm day or even at the campsite before you set up the beds etc. Mist straight hydrogen peroxide onto the canvas wherever you see dark mold. Don’t rub the canvas because you want to keep that material strong. Let the hydrogen peroxide dry and reapply as necessary until all those little mold spots are gone. This will not damage the fabric and will remove all the mold before you have a really big problem. I did this for over a decade on my tent trailer and never had a hole or weak fabric as a result. Just really white clean canvas. I hope this helps someone. I searched for years to find a safe product that works without damaging that canvas. Great video. Oh. I also use it straight on white baseball hats that get sweat stained. Does a great job.

We had small rips in our screens. Previous owner used circles of sticky- backed screen-look tape, but they fell off. I took thicker, coated thread and sewed it in a weave pattern. In sunlight, the repair is hardly noticeable, whereas the taped repair had yellowed. Just a thought.

@@ItsPoppin it's a 1998 Rockwood! Everything is very solid and works, but since I bought it secondhand I learned from you that I need to go through everything before I take it out! I'm honestly so excited for the weather to break so I can pop it back open and get to work. I know it will be very time intensive but in the end it will pay off. My 5 year old son is so excited to get back to camping and everything we've done before this was in a tent. I've got a list of products that you've mentioned! Vinyl cleaner works pretty good but I prefer a plastic cleaner and conditioner on the windows. Ours were very stiff and crinkled as well as scratched and had friction marks from traveling. I used a very fine cut plastic polish and that removed the scratches and cleared up the haze. I got mine at a resale shop but you can pick it up at any automotive shop that sells paint. Its a 3M product and comes numbered 1-3. Its designed specifically for plastics. I ran across it years ago and swear by it now. If anyone is interested, I can send you a photo of the product. It works on tail lenses too!

A new year. 2021, Came across your prep for another year of camping. We've had popups for 50 years, and our present coleman for 14 years. Took it on a trip west a few years ago, towing it 12000 miles, Time for minor repairs which I should have done last year. Keep those wheel bearing well greased, and air in the tires. So easy to ignore them. I Recommend an antisway bar even for a pop-up and radial tires, if possible. Finding the proper load rating can be a problem, but they wear much better than bias ply. The trailer will sway badly without the bar though. I bought mine years ago at Harbor Freight. Time for a new gasket for the roof also. Somehing else to consider is joining a camping club. We get to camp for 4 days at Newport (in the beach parking lot ). You can not get any closer to the ocean and the cost is less than $90. Happy camping!

Your videos are all pretty good. Sadly I see so many campers that were never properly cared for or had mice get in them and destroy the canvass. I think a guy could get into flipping campers if he had the time and money needed to do this kind of work. I do not have the space. If I was still into upholstery, I would for sure get into restoring some of the higher end pop ups. I probably wouldn't get into some of the cheaper ones. I noticed the really small pop up campers sell really fast and fetch a good price. The other thing I noticed is no one really wants the bigger popups with all the extras. Things like showers, toilets, side pop outs and refrigerators don't seem to sell as well because at that point, you might as well buy a hard sided camper and many do.

Simply awesome really works from the dollar store. You should re water proof ANY TIME you clean your canvas. It should be done every season anyways. I use soft scrub with bleach on a scotch guard pad after spraying the end panel caps with a deluted mix of simply awesome. Do not allow the mixture to run or it will streak. You do not need a ton of soft scrub but it will whiten the roof panels really well. Use a conditioner on the end caps It will keep them soft and supple as well as water proof them. I use automotive leather cleaner and conditioner from the dollar store.

For that sticky screen tape you can sprinkle some baby powder on the sticky side. That will keep the screen from sticking to the plastic window when storing.
I was able to buy new telescoping awning poles online by themselves. They are a little pricey but it's nice that they telescope down in length and fit nicely in my rolled up awning along with the stakes and adjustable tension lines. what's really nice about them is if it's very rainy and windy you can lower them to around 2 feet off the ground which helps it deflect the wind and allows the rain water to come off the awning without puddling in the middle.

But I'm no longer intimidated to dig into that AC a little bit. So PLEASE keep showing how you open these amenities up and clean/repair them. Too bad about the awning pole. Thanks! So we technically used it on the vinyl on the inside, which is what you saw in the video. The vinyl shouldn't need to be re-waterproofed. It's common to refer to the whole vinyl/canvas area as just the canvas even though theyre two different materials, which is where I think confusion can occur. Our first camper, a 1999 Jayco Heritage Cascade, had some pretty bad staining of the canvas - especially on the roof part of the canvas. And by pretty bad, I mean it was bad. Fortunately and unfortunately, the mold and mildew remover removed a significant amount of the staining; however, it did leave a slight amount of staining. The remaining stain actually had a bit of a pink hue to it and we were never able to completely remove it. You might be experiencing the same thing.
