    Me and 3 of my metalhead buddies showed up to fight 4 jocks after high school at a park and me and my crew all showed up wearing our Ministry Psalm 69 shirts not on purpose ! LOL !!! Half the school was there to watch and we felt stupid like we called each other and said "Dude, wear your Ministry shirt for the fight !" or something haha . But it was just a coincidence . We won though , so we had that going for us heh heh . I love that album but still chuckle about that when I hear it . And that happened in 94 or 95 .

    No one ever talks about In Case You Didnt Feel Like Showing Up: Live from 1991. The songs are from earlier records but the live sound was as metal as they ever got. There's a concert film and everything. Dont miss it!

    Really great ranking, Ministry is often ignored and I really appreciate the fact that you listen to newer albums from these older bands. Saw Ministry live twice, it's totally insane, you can feel your mind about to burst. Just the fact that they keep on recording music is great, long life to Ministry, even with their lowest points they are still great.

      I saw Ministry live a few years ago and was unfortunately quite disappointed. Al seemed to mellow out over the years so I was bummed lol. Wish I could have seen them back in the 90s or early 2000s as those were insane shows from what I hear/read.

  • @Shikigamifuneral758

    Al is apparently re recording with sympathy as a metal album and just played revenge (a metal version) for the first time in 40 years. I think it's pretty cool to see him come back around on the album he called "an abortion forced by the label" not my favorite album but definitely underrated. Twitch and rape and honey are my favorites.

    • @rambro1stbud
      @rambro1stbud 5 місяців тому

      In Uncle Al's own words "never trust a junkie." I love Ministry, but Al has made so many contradictory statements over the years. It's better just to assume everything he says is bullshit. For example, he once said Barker had little to no involvement in the writing/production process. But Barker has writing credits (and at least one vocal credit) on every album in which he participated.

    Holy Shit Bro...This ranking is epic to me. I'm an old-school Ministry fan. Everything from 12" Singles to Pailhead, Programming the Psychodrill to Rio Grande Blood.. I am a Minsistry historian. I saw them at Pittsburgh Star Lake Amphitheater Lollapolooza during Psalm 69 Tour 1992 when they played after Ice Cube a full-on riot broke out. I was 15 years old, and I never experienced anything like it. The cops showed up, and I saw people getting arrested, weapons confiscated and fires were being lit. It was insane. It was forever etched into my psyche which evolved into a love for anything Al Jourgensen/Paul Barker inspired including all of the side projects (Revolting Cocks, Lard) Thanks for your appreciation of these absolute Pioneers of Industrial/Metal way before anyone else was doing it. The fact that they developed their sound into something so chaotic and heavy over the years is extraordinary. Metal Trenches Rocks. Keep up your work

    Great ranking. I really enjoyed deep diving this discography outside of a couple records. Shame to see people (least the ones I’ve interacted with) brush aside ministry because I think they have some classic albums. Psalm 69 is slowly becoming one of my all time favorites and filth pig is probably one of the heaviest records I’ve ever listened to personally. Thanks for recommending Psalm since it’s awesome. Land’s also one of my favorites from them too.

    I’d say that I like both Dark Side of the Spoon and Animositisomina more than you do. I think Rio Grande Blood is my favorite of the Bush trilogy and Last Sucker is the weakest. Al does have less venom on it, and the album suffers as he’s less furious. I also very much like both Moral Hygiene and Hopium for the Masses as they feel like a bit of a return to Ministry’s old style. I personally think Amerikkkant is the worst Ministry album of all. Interestingly, Al announced that the next (and allegedly last but we’ll see) Ministry album is going to have Paul Barker on it again. That coincides with two albums in a row that slowed down on the thrash a touch and got back to their industrial roots. That seems very promising to me and I’m excited to see what those two do together

      @@anony-moon What? No, that's utter nonsense. If are you refering to Ministry's albums you may have a tiny point but ALL albums? You can't possibly believe that. The entire genre of classical? R&B, Boy-bands? K-pop? EDM? Get out of here with that crap.

    The tryptic of land/mind/spoon is absolutely the best albums. Psalm is definitely by far the most over rated. North the worst but very overrated. Animositisomina and mole round out my top 5. I’d rate last sucker over rio grande blood. I’d also would’ve included the cover ups album since it counts but neither the best or the worst.

    Ministry has been hit or miss with me since 2004. They used to be really good and actually meant something as far as current events go. That new album didn’t do it for me at all. Now they’re basically U2. Pretentious and ran their course. They need to just stop at this rate!

  • @mindful2864
    @mindful2864 5 місяців тому

    Ministry were legendary when it came to industrial metal in the late 80's, especially the 90's, and even the 2000's but ever since Al Jorgensen brought his band back; his band went downhill. It's fine to have political lyrics, Napalm Death does it right; but modern Ministry feels clunky and misguided on top of the music itself being repetitive and badly produced. Their legendary 90's albums still hold up very well. Here would be my ranking:
    S - The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste, Psalm 69, Filth Pig
    A - The Land of Rape and Honey, Dark Side of the Spoon, Houses of the Mole
    B - With Sympathy, Twitch, Animositasomina, Rio Grande Blood, The Last Sucker
    C - Relapse, From Beer to Eternity
    D - Moral Hygiene
    F - AmeriKKKant, Hopiumforthemasses

    What a frustrating band. Great albums followed up by horrible albums. Al's conspiracy bs presented as revelation, banality presented as poetry. Seen them live twice and they were great both times but, Boi, they make it hard being a fan.

    I like the information presented in this video. But the half mask you wear is off putting. Either wear a full mask or no mask. And if you're wearing a full mask, why bother being on screen at all?
    If you're hiding horrible acid burns on your face or some such, don't. That's way more metal. Wear those scars loud and proud!
