The thing that annoys me most is that if you want your sim to have makeup on, you have to manually select it for each outfit instead of locking it to all outfits like in previous games. Also, yes to the baking/cooking thing. Makes no sense why cakes are in the "cook" category.

Yes, this needs to be change. Even worse when they add a npc and you want to personalize them, but they have several piercings and weird makeup you have to remove for each look of theirs before choosing new looks for them.
It's funny and sad at the same time that the Sims 2 was better in certain thing than the Sims 4. Supermarkets are in the Sims 2, you don't pay for individual meals but for groceries that you can either order or buy on a public lot. Buying clothes is a thing in the Sims 2: you create them with a certain set of clothing and if you want to change it you have to buy the clothes (or wear the outfits other Sims in the household have).
Buying clothes is actually something I loved in TS2. The need to shop for a new wardrobe is something that should always have been in the games. I've agreed with most of these view points as well.
The “vacation worlds” bugs me. I don’t see a point anymore since we can set any lots to vacation homes or vice versa now so why aren’t they just normal neighbourhoods… Selvadorada will just be unlivable I guess 😭
Unless you get the mod from Zerbu that makes ALL worlds livable and puts them in the world map :) I have an excellent base camp I built for my two "Survivalist Sims" and a rest stop for any explorers about to trek into the jungle.
I know I am late to this video, but to your point it's also a slap in the face to people that live in countries that look like Selvadorada that they have to download a mod or use the paranormal pack cheat to live there. We get a fake little greece/italy/european looking town for the weddings pack - which seems like more of a travel scenario - but no South America is vacations only?? Imagine having to schedule and book a rental lot or hotel cuz another sim is having a destination wedding. TS4 could never 😂
The lag is a great point since they said there’s loading screens to prevent lag lmfao. I play sims 4 on my xbox one x sometimes and one of my sims lives in a tiny beach shack in sulani, you’d think there’d be no lag but it’s a mess. Playing on console where the controls are already hard/annoying enough .. adding lag to the mix is not fun

8:54 it actually exists in the sims 2. You have to buy your clothes in an actual clothing store then it will be added to your wardrobe. And I found it very useful, bc there are a lot of clothes that I don't like so I never use them, so I'd just buy the ones that I like, it makes the wardrobe more neat and you don't have to scroll through the ugly clothes just to find the ones that you like
8:58 Buying clothes actually existed in the sims, the sims 2 specifically. You could only dress in the clothes you owned or you had to go shopping to get new ones. I honestly miss this function though.

I don’t want to see them going to the lounge, dance club, etc., unless they happened to die there. And yes- why do our sims cook certain things which are actually baked? Number 7 is SO annoying! Especially when using other people’s builds. You can find a really nice house that you want to use in you game only to download it and realize that half of the stuff is missing because you don’t own the pack(s) it comes from. Or you place a gallery sim in the game only for them to be naked and bald because the creator used items that you don’t own.
Totally agree about the weather. Name one other game that has a weather system that you need to pay for. Name one. It's so built in to shit, it would be like paying for lighting lmao. For this price, the game should be AT LEAST function correctly (which the sims 4 does not), and it should include things that are such daily parts of life, such as weather and pets (again, which it does not)
i find it ridiculous that seasons has been a dlc for sims 2, 3, and 4, i believe that any features that are dlc in one game, should be included in the base game of the next. i dont play the sims often and its for this reason, the game is boring without the dlc packs, but i refuse to pay for weather in a life simulation game.

I like that the filters don't filter every item category in CAS. Just because I want to filter dresses doesn't mean I also want to filter shoes. You're not required to use cheats in a regular save, so I wouldn't say you need a normal mode because you can choose to not use them. I agree we need homes with bathroom/kitchen but no furniture, though. That would also help the problem of starter homes leaving Sims with very little money
- too many idle animations - too much stupid /cartoon expressions - why do my sims forget their tasks or refuse to do them ? - sliders and presets are not CC friendly and therefore offsprings are often deformed - most features are shallow and there’s very few cross pack compatibility - almost no solo gameplay is satisfying, everything pushes you to socialize - traits are lackluster
The pie menu is a mess 😅 there are hundreds of options to choose from for talking but very little options for interacting. What bothers me more is that you can't leave the house like it is when you are moving out. You either need to sell all the item in your house or have to take it with you. So storytelling wise it's stupid
I feel this intensely especially when I've just played the past titles. I'd rather just have "chat" and depending on personality they pick one of the topics and you gauge the information from the animation/speech bubbles, instead of needing to go through 21 menu clicks to discuss interests

I wish there was a “return lot to original state” when moving out option. Sometimes I’ll make a house or certain very heavily themed and I wish whichever sims moved in later would get the original house, not all of my changes.
I agree so strongly on the paying for clothes. That would be so useful in a Rags to Riches game. As it is, I only give my starting Sims one outfit in the categories and up the quality as they make more money, but paying for clothes would make for better gameplay. It could even be an option that can toggle off and on. I wish they not only had a normal gameplay mode, but also I would love to choose style of play. If for each save, you could choose between "realistic" gameplay, "chaotic" gameplay and something in-between, then you could choose how much Sims craziness you wanted in that particular save.
I agree with every single one of your 25 things! I have always wondered why we can't buy clothing like we actually do IRL. Why can't we have a grocery store like in TS3? Why do I have to buy a house with all the furniture? And the eyelashes...yes, they are horrendous!
No one has been talking about the swatches of the base game white table, there are many swatches such as blue, magenta, green, ... But once you select them, it only stays dark 🤔
In Sims 1 and 2, you move it with minimal furniture, just in real life LOL. Also it helps to keep the cost low when you buy your own furniture. Also I never like the "Sort by room" in buy mode, some of the sorting does not make sense and I sometimes can't find the decorations I want in that sorting system. I am team "Sort by function" all the way!
U have a good point. But i think the bigger picture is that the sims is a Life simulation game. And in real life clothes are not free. And this is where i think the normal mode he metioned makes sense. One mode thats things are free or u can use cheats to get them and then another mode that actually simulates real life.
You really speak my mind, especially the Gallery's loading time which I never seen anyone else complain but it always annoys me every time. I don't know how people can live with it. We are already in 2022 but the Gallery's speed is still 56k modem.
I agree with everything but furniture one you can make an option to have it come unfinished. Tho it might be nice to a few empty and/or for game performance. But only in larger worlds.
I love the idea of paying for CAS. The Sims 2 kinda did that because you had to have a dresser/wardrobe at home and then go to the store to buy new clothes. Each clothing item was 200 simoleons but it'd be nice to see different values for clothing. It would also help you be more selective and when sims get too rich, it could help shift some money haha
I love how in The Sims 2 after dressing the sim in CAS when you first create them, you have to go to a store and buy pay for each item of clothes and accessories for your sim to be able to have different outfits and new clothes. Also why do we still not have the option to keep the same make up and piercings for every outfit category and have to manually reapply them!!
When my sim is cooking, he(she) randomly stop cooking and start talking to strangers, lefting the food on the ground. Also when they are energized, he(she) randomly, automatically make push-ups, gaining the gymnastics skill which i didn't wanted to learn.
Hey, I used to also be really upset with not being able to go shopping for groceries but I noticed you had Cottage Living as well and, for anyone else as well, you can set a lot challenge that is something like Simple Living and then you have to have all of the ingredients to make a meal BUT you can then order groceries and actually it makes it a lot more realistic for me. I like not being able to make certain meals because I've ran out of one of the ingredients, to me it's a great add on to Sims 2 system. But I do understand that it should be a base game feature like the Sims 2's system was!
You have nailed it... YES! All of these things grate on me while playing. I do miss having to buy food and new outfits, I do have to add that not all the hair colours go together. It's also difficult when picking hair with accessories which are already there as you have to make the outfit colour 'go with' the accessory in some way. I'm 38 and have been playing sims since I was in my late teens. There are so many things they got rid of from previous ones which also tick me off. I'm glad I'm not alone.
The thing I hate the most is how much a sims will fight you. I have a toddler that is hungry, dogs that want attention, and a new baby. And my two sims want to play computer games or watch tv even when you tell them to do a responsibility.
In Sims 2 you actually had to go buy new outfits, so it's not always been like that... once upon a time when Sims was actually fun we had to go buy both groceries and clothes.
Yes to most of these plus I hate that some furniture has no 'style' tags attached at all to them. It is very annoying in DHD play and just building when looking for something in a particular style especially when you know a particular piece exists that should be in that style.
A good thing (probably the only one) about playing on console is that once cheats are turned on achievements cannot be earned for that save file, whereas on PC it doesn't matter. If this feature was added to PC, it might get players to stop using cheats so much.
To add to this…I never bothered cheating on console because it’s a pain typing up the cheats on damn controller 💀 But on PC… I turn up and go crazy with cheats lol
Yeah that's what I get proud of when I see pc players complaining about the fact it's not a challenge. I like getting achievements and the fact that console makes it so you can't use cheats while also getting achievements makes it pretty fun. I have to manage money, needs etc while if I was a pc player that would be easy to do
Hey, thanks for the compilation :) I actually do not completely agree with the translation to Simlish. I come from Russia, for example, and we have Cyrillic alphabet but we don’t transliterate names of the brands on t-shirts or bags. You can often see some random phrases in other languages on clothes or as tattoos. So just think of it as Sims using English just like anybody else in the world uses foreign languages for fun or aesthetics ☺️ As for the rest of your points - totally agree! They should pay you for pointing out their faults 🤔
I think I remember in The Urbz you had to pay for clothing, in general that was a pretty solid Sims game with a normal mode, working, challenges, goals, everything you want but with a lacking build mode and world exploration. Plus it has a lot more tattoo and piercing options! Again just from memory, I haven't played it in years.
The most thing that annoys me in the Sims 4, is the loading screen. That the most that just annoys the shit out of me. But there are some things I personally don't care about the cake/bake or the outfits colors. I wish we had an open neighborhood because I really really hate the loading screen. Like everything else works fine with me but every time I buy a pack (on sale of course) the slow loading screen is back for me. Out of all the problems I get it literally only the loading screens. 😭

Having a "normal mode" is quite weird to me. The Sims franchise has never had something specifically like that, so it'd be unreasonable to ask for it. Plus, there is always an easy solution: self-control!
We talk about the clothes shops we used to have in TS2 where you could shop and pay for clothes. Yes. Miss it so much :( (I am so afraid for TS5. I wish we (the community could interview and choose who will be in charge of TS5) I need EA to start streaming themselves playing TS2 NOT TS4. Only let them play TS4 AFTER they have played for hundreds of hours of TS2 and TS3. They need to know what's MISSING!
9:21 I totally agree I would enjoy the option to have a normal mode were buying clothing in the clothing shops is a must. And we could only mix and match the clothing the sim(or family) already owns. Perhaps even combine the clothing with the washing system and let specific things get dirty.
I know some people say that there are no preschools or anything for toddlers, but the other day the game prompted me to send my toddlers to preschool or hire a nanny when my adult Sims went to work. My kid came back with skills they had learned at school... so I'm confused why there isn't an option to just send your toddlers to preschool even when your adult Sims are home. Since this function is already in the game. On top of that, my toddler's needs were horrible when the came back. Also, I don't understand why babies aren't sent to daycare when the parents or teens aren't home and there's only a child there. However, you'll be prompted to send your toddler's to preschool or hire the nanny in the same scenario (no adult or teen present, but a child is home). Also, why can't children feed babies or change diapers as well?? But they have the option to give food to toddlers??
Where is the changing tables? Baby swing? Stroller or walkers? Play mats for tummy time? The baby basin to wash the baby in? We barely have items for the babies, let alone more interactions for them. The game is supposed to be a LIFE SIMULATION game but they ignored and have cut corners when it comes to babies and toddlers. It took them TWO years to even add toddlers to the basegame which was RIDICULOUS....SMH!!!
The organization of build/buy infuriates me. I don't play often enough to have memorized where everything is, or to even know what all the objects are. I wish there was a way to hide objects you don't want or make a folder like in the Sims 3. I would also like separate categories for decals, cracks/cobwebs, posters, and paintings.
Personally I use the duplicate tool partly to faster access the same category. Let's say I want to access the beds, then I use the tool on a bed in the house and boom, now I'm in the beds category. Saves time :P
That filtering by packs in the gallery is so frustrating. I basically can’t use the gallery at all unless I can find a base game only build or can be bothered furnishing a shell. Why even have the option if it doesn’t work??
4:36 This was also the case in Sims 3, though there was an option to spend extra simoleons to have the house furnished. The important thing was that there was an option- spend money on furniture yourself, or pay to furnish the house and start with less

Ok literally though about the weather thing. Like why does it give us the option to choose clothes for weather such as hot and cold in base game but those weathers don’t exist in base game? This game is such a mess and I’ve been continued to be disappointed since I got the game in 2014.
Also once we FINALLY had seasons and weather in the game, they gave us the options to control the days and weather but not seasons. How hard us it to addca setting to control seasons. Maybe I want Sulani to be summer all year round or Mt. Korembi to be fall or winter all year round. It would add more gameplay if we had the option to make our game have certain seasons in certain worlds.

And why does it barely ever rain for me in Henford on Bagley when it would rain practically every other day since it's based on the UK? Either they just need to program it in themselves, or they need to give us an option to change the rain settings. Because right now they make no sense.
Having the sims pay for their clothing would be very, very cool, and add a lot of nice gameplay and immersion to see the Landgraabs walk about in clothing you won't be able to own without the money cheat!
There actually is an option to only show owned packs in the gallery, but when you click on it, it will either say there aren't any builds like that (which is a lie, I literally find them) or STILL show builds that contain unowned packs.
I hate how they're first instinct is to go for a tv, computer, phone, stereo, etc it really annoys me to the point that I end up deleting most of the electronics
As for the CAS filters: there's no base game filter without CC. 🙃The gallery photos are really ugly. You can make the most beautiful sim or house you've ever created and the photos will absolutely ruin ithem. I wish we could lock makeup and accesories (like piercings) for every outfit. I've never tought about paying for clothes in CAS but it makes sense, I like the idea.
I want the sims to stop calling me about their hook ups, and asking me if it's okay...cause it's not and I don't want it. I turned off neighborhood stories and they still do this. Whats wrong with them
You brought up some good points, fr. Some that I never even thought of myself and I absolutely agree that they all should be fixed. Especially the fact that we don’t have to pay for clothes in CAS. I also think there should be a system in place that once you “buy” an item, or items by clicking the check mark, it doesn’t have to be “repurchased” when you come back to CAS. Once you “buy” it, it’s yours. However; if you had your sim in a shirt they “bought” before, and it’s in the blue swatch for instance, they would have to pay for the red swatch, green, yellow, etc separately. You know what I mean? I just think it would bring more realism because just like in real life, if you want more than one color of a garment, more than one variation of the same shoes, more than one of the same thing, or even duplicates for that matter; you still have to pay for it.
9:20 because for 2/3 reasons ( in my thinking) 1: because when you first join the Sims and make a Sim you won't know how to use it and the sim team will spend a lot of time when they could be working on something like infants 2: maybe the Sims already own the clothes because you click on the wardrobe to put it on
For #23, I've seen it come up as a complaint in rags to riches challenges when they have Sims dressed in kind of worn out clothes, but they can just swap out nicer clothes without a cost as they go on. Though I know some of the people I've seen do the challenge removed like $50 per outfit or only change to outfits they buy in one of the retail shops.
I completely agree with the gallery filters statement. That’s my least favorite thing about Sims 4. Why can’t the gallery just show us the things we own??
I hate that it costs about $800 for all dlc. . I get charging for it, but in reality expansion packs should be $10 not $40. $40 is the cost of a brand new game, the entire game. The expansion packs are relatively small, when you look at that one thing alone, and no one with play it as the only world. It's not really worth the money.
Speaking of modes, I'd love a return of "story mode", such as those seen in ts1 and 2 on console. You start with 1 sim, go to a house(ts1 > your mums, ts2 > starter with 2 roomies). As you complete objectives, you unlock new locations to live in and help other sims with their goals. It was generally really fun to play through and I think it would be a more engaging tutorial, like each new lot has new storylines that teach game mechanics (kinda like merging the story mode of the console games, with the staged events of ts2 pc premade households)
Ok, so am I the only one that has my sim do something but waits for like 10-20 seconds (or more) for them to actually DO IT?? And don't get me started with feelings and emotions -- Sims gets furious with another sim but transitions to being happy again. Oh, also, sims from other worlds keep coming and visiting your current world.. anyway apparently, the list goes on ...... 🙄
I remember there were a few clothing racks in the Sims 2 you could get and if you wanted to you could build a clothing store. You would literally have to click on the clothing rack, select the clothes you wanted and then your sim would have to go to the cash register where the shop assistant would ring them up and then your sim had the clothes in their dresser. Same with groceries.
The clothing thing is one of my biggest grips. Besides clothes being free, it's annoying that we are limited to 35 clothes, so if I want to change clothes after wearing the 35 o already wore, I have to go back into CAS. In Sims 2, there was no limits on clothing in your inventory and you had to pay to for clothes. I miss in the Sims 2 where you went shopping for clothes, could try them on, go on shopping sprees and even buy clothes for the entire household. They could have had Sims go shopping for clothes or purchase clothes online. I also don't understand why cash registers aren't functional either, just decorative like most objects are in this game. Also, the Sims 4 has a criminal career and a klepto trait but no burglars in the game, make that make sense....SMH!!!
@@grellswife I think they mean because there are seven outfit categories and you can have five outfits within each.. but to me that seems like more than enough to be honest. I only ever use one per category because I'd find it insufferably boring to a) have to look through so many clothes to find an outfit I want my sim to wear, b) have to make so many outfits in the first place, and c) download enough CC so that there are actually enough clothes I like, because even just with seven total outfits per sim, I find myself using the same few items per category. Yeah I can opt not to use extra outfits but it really would just seem wild to have more than we already do.

I agree that weather should be in the base game however, if we’re talking about it being added because its a life simulation game, then you could also make the argument that university, cats and dogs, city living, island living and literally every pack should be free because its part if life/adds to life.
When you play the sims 4, you have to fight with your sim. What do I mean by that? The Sim will randomly cancel your action to do something you don't want them to do. Another thing is just stupid. My sim is asleep with really low energy, but then they'll randomly wake up. I go see the reason why and they passed out on the ground despite I put them in bed earlier. WHY?! All jobs in the Sims 4 is boring unless you got the Get to Work pack. Witches will just stop trying to learn spells once they unlock one. Why can't they continue doing it, so I can cancel it when I want to. The island paradise pack is so boring. Especially the mermaids since they literally don't do much or anything at all. 3 traits only is so annoying. Speaking of traits, they barely do anything to my character. Seriously they used to be so complicated in the past. What happened? There is probably more than I said but those are the ones that bother me the most.
Why are you getting angry about things that don’t even effect you? You can easily choose to have a non furnished home, choose not to use cheats, choose to wear items with real languages on them, choose not use debug cars, babies, use certain eyes, and the lag is most likely because you keep to many tabs open.
I think 2 and 3 are the shining stars of the series… if you’re down for tinkering a bit to get them to run correctly. 2 is the best in terms of small details and arguably the best family style play. There’s also a ton of graphics mods that make it look better than the sims 4 imo. Sims 3 is best if you love the idea of an open world and unlimited customization. Plus it has some really fun RPG style stuff in it… oh and all the rabbit holes are interactable, unlike 4. I often bounce between the two games.
I'd recommend playing S2 first if you've played S4. I think S2 and S4 are similar in that you'll find the transition easy (as in loading screens, swatches for furniture, rotational style gameplay). S2 offers a lot of gameplay depth, challenge, variety, and drama that S4 lacks. S1 is the most challenging of the 4 but it is where the series started. If you can overcome how the game plays, you'll find plenty of fun in S1. There are guides and mods (known as hacks for S1) available online to make the experience comfortable. S1 and S2 is available on oldgamesdownload since both games are considered abandonware (you'll need a fix for S2's IKEA stuff if you get it from ogd). S3 is my personal favorite as it really plays like nothing else in the series. I love the rpg style gameplay and challenges you can participate in. However if your system can't run 3, but you want to experience the rpg gameplay, Medieval is really good.
I wish I knew how to make mods. I would fix the pricing and filters of e v e r y single item in the game. I would make sure e v e r y item has a basic black, white, grey and brown swatch that matches. This game needs to be fixed, it’s currently built on a broken foundation 😭 And I agree that CAS clothes should cost money, especially now that we have thrift shops in the game.
Oml i hate it when these discovery quests keep notifying me over and over again! 😤 And when i tell my sim to feed or bring the baby to bed, it just keeps standing still and doesn't do anything. I got a neglect warning, and FINALLY my sim was gonna feed the baby.
Lately I've been getting a glitch where sometimes I can backspace in text entry fields, but I can't type anything, and the only way to fix it is to exit the game. Also, baking was introduced in Get to Work, so only recipes from that pack are in that menu.
In The Sims 2, you had to go to the store to buy new clothes and use a dresser to change into them. I really miss that. Dressers and stores are pointless.
To be honest I think I won’t buy any other pack unless something REALLY changes for free,for everyone.They keep getting our money and we get poor content for a fortune.I honestly think I’ll move my ass to Paralives just for the new content.
What I really dislike is when I send my sims to visit something in their neighbourhood they walk ALL the way over there, but you still get a fricking loading screen. OMG, I'm losing my mind over then!
Here’s one: wood tones in certain furniture collections not matching, or having swatches that make no sense. Example: that “Mega” furniture collection is clearly all supposed to go together, yet there are certain items like the shelf only having 3 wood swatches, and the bed not having a wood tone to match the default Mega wood tone. The “Caress” collection has a couple items that offer 3 dark wood tones with a different gold trim, while others only offer 2 dark wood tones and they’re never consistent!
The thing that annoys me most is that if you want your sim to have makeup on, you have to manually select it for each outfit instead of locking it to all outfits like in previous games. Also, yes to the baking/cooking thing. Makes no sense why cakes are in the "cook" category.
Yes that bake cooking mismatch has irked me from day one.

Yes, this needs to be change. Even worse when they add a npc and you want to personalize them, but they have several piercings and weird makeup you have to remove for each look of theirs before choosing new looks for them.

It's funny and sad at the same time that the Sims 2 was better in certain thing than the Sims 4. Supermarkets are in the Sims 2, you don't pay for individual meals but for groceries that you can either order or buy on a public lot. Buying clothes is a thing in the Sims 2: you create them with a certain set of clothing and if you want to change it you have to buy the clothes (or wear the outfits other Sims in the household have).

I know I am late to this video, but to your point it's also a slap in the face to people that live in countries that look like Selvadorada that they have to download a mod or use the paranormal pack cheat to live there. We get a fake little greece/italy/european looking town for the weddings pack - which seems like more of a travel scenario - but no South America is vacations only?? Imagine having to schedule and book a rental lot or hotel cuz another sim is having a destination wedding. TS4 could never 😂

I play sims 4 on my xbox one x sometimes and one of my sims lives in a tiny beach shack in sulani, you’d think there’d be no lag but it’s a mess. Playing on console where the controls are already hard/annoying enough .. adding lag to the mix is not fun

And I found it very useful, bc there are a lot of clothes that I don't like so I never use them, so I'd just buy the ones that I like, it makes the wardrobe more neat and you don't have to scroll through the ugly clothes just to find the ones that you like

I get annoyed with ghosts tipping up everywhere. To me, ghosts should only haunt the places where they died. I don’t want to see them going to the lounge, dance club, etc., unless they happened to die there. And yes- why do our sims cook certain things which are actually baked? I have more peeves, but it’s less than 25-LOL!
It would be so fun to actually use closets/dressers as actual closets/dressers with clothes you’d supposedly buy as you mentioned.
Number 7 is SO annoying! Especially when using other people’s builds. You can find a really nice house that you want to use in you game only to download it and realize that half of the stuff is missing because you don’t own the pack(s) it comes from. Or you place a gallery sim in the game only for them to be naked and bald because the creator used items that you don’t own.
Totally agree about the weather. Name one other game that has a weather system that you need to pay for. Name one. It's so built in to shit, it would be like paying for lighting lmao. Legit if the Sims 5 is really built in UE5 like job listings are suggesting, then they have no excuse for this at all. Volumetric clouds, rain, snow, etc are all built into the engine. Oh, but I'm sure some simmers will come in and defend the poor multibillion dollar company and throw another $1,500 at that game because apparently their fetish is terrible financial decisions.

i find it ridiculous that seasons has been a dlc for sims 2, 3, and 4, i believe that any features that are dlc in one game, should be included in the base game of the next. i dont play the sims often and its for this reason, the game is boring without the dlc packs, but i refuse to pay for weather in a life simulation game.

I like that the filters don't filter every item category in CAS. Just because I want to filter dresses doesn't mean I also want to filter shoes.
You're not required to use cheats in a regular save, so I wouldn't say you need a normal mode because you can choose to not use them. I agree we need homes with bathroom/kitchen but no furniture, though. That would also help the problem of starter homes leaving Sims with very little money

The pie menu is a mess 😅 there are hundreds of options to choose from for talking but very little options for interacting. What bothers me more is that you can't leave the house like it is when you are moving out. You either need to sell all the item in your house or have to take it with you. So storytelling wise it's stupid

I wish there was a “return lot to original state” when moving out option. Sometimes I’ll make a house or certain very heavily themed and I wish whichever sims moved in later would get the original house, not all of my changes.

I agree so strongly on the paying for clothes. That would be so useful in a Rags to Riches game. As it is, I only give my starting Sims one outfit in the categories and up the quality as they make more money, but paying for clothes would make for better gameplay. It could even be an option that can toggle off and on. I wish they not only had a normal gameplay mode, but also I would love to choose style of play. If for each save, you could choose between "realistic" gameplay, "chaotic" gameplay and something in-between, then you could choose how much Sims craziness you wanted in that particular save.
I agree with every single one of your 25 things! I have always wondered why we can't buy clothing like we actually do IRL. Why can't we have a grocery store like in TS3? Why do I have to buy a house with all the furniture? And the eyelashes...yes, they are horrendous!
No one has been talking about the swatches of the base game white table, there are many swatches such as blue, magenta, green, ... But once you select them, it only stays dark 🤔

In Sims 1 and 2, you move it with minimal furniture, just in real life LOL. Also it helps to keep the cost low when you buy your own furniture.
Also I never like the "Sort by room" in buy mode, some of the sorting does not make sense and I sometimes can't find the decorations I want in that sorting system. I am team "Sort by function" all the way!
As someone who works in the fashion industry, I must say that I like that the clothes are free in the sims. To me it feels liberating.
U have a good point. But i think the bigger picture is that the sims is a Life simulation game. And in real life clothes are not free. And this is where i think the normal mode he metioned makes sense. One mode thats things are free or u can use cheats to get them and then another mode that actually simulates real life.
You really speak my mind, especially the Gallery's loading time which I never seen anyone else complain but it always annoys me every time. I don't know how people can live with it. We are already in 2022 but the Gallery's speed is still 56k modem.

I love the idea of paying for CAS. The Sims 2 kinda did that because you had to have a dresser/wardrobe at home and then go to the store to buy new clothes. Each clothing item was 200 simoleons but it'd be nice to see different values for clothing. It would also help you be more selective and when sims get too rich, it could help shift some money haha
I love how in The Sims 2 after dressing the sim in CAS when you first create them, you have to go to a store and buy pay for each item of clothes and accessories for your sim to be able to have different outfits and new clothes. Also why do we still not have the option to keep the same make up and piercings for every outfit category and have to manually reapply them!!
When my sim is cooking, he(she) randomly stop cooking and start talking to strangers, lefting the food on the ground.
Also when they are energized, he(she) randomly, automatically make push-ups, gaining the gymnastics skill which i didn't wanted to learn.

Hey, I used to also be really upset with not being able to go shopping for groceries but I noticed you had Cottage Living as well and, for anyone else as well, you can set a lot challenge that is something like Simple Living and then you have to have all of the ingredients to make a meal BUT you can then order groceries and actually it makes it a lot more realistic for me. I like not being able to make certain meals because I've ran out of one of the ingredients, to me it's a great add on to Sims 2 system. But I do understand that it should be a base game feature like the Sims 2's system was!
You have nailed it... YES! All of these things grate on me while playing. I do miss having to buy food and new outfits, I do have to add that not all the hair colours go together. It's also difficult when picking hair with accessories which are already there as you have to make the outfit colour 'go with' the accessory in some way. I'm 38 and have been playing sims since I was in my late teens. There are so many things they got rid of from previous ones which also tick me off. I'm glad I'm not alone.
The thing I hate the most is how much a sims will fight you. I have a toddler that is hungry, dogs that want attention, and a new baby. And my two sims want to play computer games or watch tv even when you tell them to do a responsibility.
Oh and honorable mention is when your sim stands there and wait 39 seconds to do a single task.
In Sims 2 you actually had to go buy new outfits, so it's not always been like that... once upon a time when Sims was actually fun we had to go buy both groceries and clothes.

Yes to most of these plus I hate that some furniture has no 'style' tags attached at all to them. It is very annoying in DHD play and just building when looking for something in a particular style especially when you know a particular piece exists that should be in that style.
A good thing (probably the only one) about playing on console is that once cheats are turned on achievements cannot be earned for that save file, whereas on PC it doesn't matter. If this feature was added to PC, it might get players to stop using cheats so much.
The only cheat I use a lot is bb.moveobjects, I don't use money cheats as it makes the game boring real quick

Yeah that's what I get proud of when I see pc players complaining about the fact it's not a challenge. I like getting achievements and the fact that console makes it so you can't use cheats while also getting achievements makes it pretty fun. I have to manage money, needs etc while if I was a pc player that would be easy to do

I actually do not completely agree with the translation to Simlish. I come from Russia, for example, and we have Cyrillic alphabet but we don’t transliterate names of the brands on t-shirts or bags. You can often see some random phrases in other languages on clothes or as tattoos. So just think of it as Sims using English just like anybody else in the world uses foreign languages for fun or aesthetics ☺️

I think I remember in The Urbz you had to pay for clothing, in general that was a pretty solid Sims game with a normal mode, working, challenges, goals, everything you want but with a lacking build mode and world exploration. Plus it has a lot more tattoo and piercing options!

The most thing that annoys me in the Sims 4, is the loading screen. That the most that just annoys the shit out of me. But there are some things I personally don't care about the cake/bake or the outfits colors. I wish we had an open neighborhood because I really really hate the loading screen. Like everything else works fine with me but every time I buy a pack (on sale of course) the slow loading screen is back for me. Out of all the problems I get it literally only the loading screens. 😭

Having a "normal mode" is quite weird to me. The Sims franchise has never had something specifically like that, so it'd be unreasonable to ask for it. Plus, there is always an easy solution: self-control!
We talk about the clothes shops we used to have in TS2 where you could shop and pay for clothes. Yes. Miss it so much :( (I am so afraid for TS5. I wish we (the community could interview and choose who will be in charge of TS5) I need EA to start streaming themselves playing TS2 NOT TS4. Only let them play TS4 AFTER they have played for hundreds of hours of TS2 and TS3. They need to know what's MISSING!

I know some people say that there are no preschools or anything for toddlers, but the other day the game prompted me to send my toddlers to preschool or hire a nanny when my adult Sims went to work. My kid came back with skills they had learned at school... so I'm confused why there isn't an option to just send your toddlers to preschool even when your adult Sims are home. Since this function is already in the game. On top of that, my toddler's needs were horrible when the came back. Also, I don't understand why babies aren't sent to daycare when the parents or teens aren't home and there's only a child there. However, you'll be prompted to send your toddler's to preschool or hire the nanny in the same scenario (no adult or teen present, but a child is home). Also, why can't children feed babies or change diapers as well?? But they have the option to give food to toddlers??
Where is the changing tables? Baby swing? Stroller or walkers? Play mats for tummy time? The baby basin to wash the baby in? We barely have items for the babies, let alone more interactions for them. The game is supposed to be a LIFE SIMULATION game but they ignored and have cut corners when it comes to babies and toddlers. It took them TWO years to even add toddlers to the basegame which was RIDICULOUS....SMH!!!
The organization of build/buy infuriates me. I don't play often enough to have memorized where everything is, or to even know what all the objects are. I wish there was a way to hide objects you don't want or make a folder like in the Sims 3. I would also like separate categories for decals, cracks/cobwebs, posters, and paintings.

Personally I use the duplicate tool partly to faster access the same category. Let's say I want to access the beds, then I use the tool on a bed in the house and boom, now I'm in the beds category. Saves time :P

This game is such a mess and I’ve been continued to be disappointed since I got the game in 2014.
Also once we FINALLY had seasons and weather in the game, they gave us the options to control the days and weather but not seasons. How hard us it to addca setting to control seasons. Maybe I want Sulani to be summer all year round or Mt. Korembi to be fall or winter all year round. It would add more gameplay if we had the option to make our game have certain seasons in certain worlds.

And why does it barely ever rain for me in Henford on Bagley when it would rain practically every other day since it's based on the UK? Either they just need to program it in themselves, or they need to give us an option to change the rain settings. Because right now they make no sense.
Having the sims pay for their clothing would be very, very cool, and add a lot of nice gameplay and immersion to see the Landgraabs walk about in clothing you won't be able to own without the money cheat!
There actually is an option to only show owned packs in the gallery, but when you click on it, it will either say there aren't any builds like that (which is a lie, I literally find them) or STILL show builds that contain unowned packs.
I hate how they're first instinct is to go for a tv, computer, phone, stereo, etc it really annoys me to the point that I end up deleting most of the electronics

As for the CAS filters: there's no base game filter without CC. 🙃The gallery photos are really ugly. You can make the most beautiful sim or house you've ever created and the photos will absolutely ruin ithem. I wish we could lock makeup and accesories (like piercings) for every outfit. I've never tought about paying for clothes in CAS but it makes sense, I like the idea.

You brought up some good points, fr. Some that I never even thought of myself and I absolutely agree that they all should be fixed. Especially the fact that we don’t have to pay for clothes in CAS. I also think there should be a system in place that once you “buy” an item, or items by clicking the check mark, it doesn’t have to be “repurchased” when you come back to CAS. Once you “buy” it, it’s yours.
However; if you had your sim in a shirt they “bought” before, and it’s in the blue swatch for instance, they would have to pay for the red swatch, green, yellow, etc separately. You know what I mean? I just think it would bring more realism because just like in real life, if you want more than one color of a garment, more than one variation of the same shoes, more than one of the same thing, or even duplicates for that matter; you still have to pay for it.

1: because when you first join the Sims and make a Sim you won't know how to use it and the sim team will spend a lot of time when they could be working on something like infants
2: maybe the Sims already own the clothes because you click on the wardrobe to put it on
For #23, I've seen it come up as a complaint in rags to riches challenges when they have Sims dressed in kind of worn out clothes, but they can just swap out nicer clothes without a cost as they go on. Though I know some of the people I've seen do the challenge removed like $50 per outfit or only change to outfits they buy in one of the retail shops.
I completely agree with the gallery filters statement. That’s my least favorite thing about Sims 4. Why can’t the gallery just show us the things we own??
I hate that it costs about $800 for all dlc. . I get charging for it, but in reality expansion packs should be $10 not $40. $40 is the cost of a brand new game, the entire game. The expansion packs are relatively small, when you look at that one thing alone, and no one with play it as the only world. It's not really worth the money.

Speaking of modes, I'd love a return of "story mode", such as those seen in ts1 and 2 on console. You start with 1 sim, go to a house(ts1 > your mums, ts2 > starter with 2 roomies). As you complete objectives, you unlock new locations to live in and help other sims with their goals. It was generally really fun to play through and I think it would be a more engaging tutorial, like each new lot has new storylines that teach game mechanics (kinda like merging the story mode of the console games, with the staged events of ts2 pc premade households)
Ok, so am I the only one that has my sim do something but waits for like 10-20 seconds (or more) for them to actually DO IT?? And don't get me started with feelings and emotions -- Sims gets furious with another sim but transitions to being happy again. Oh, also, sims from other worlds keep coming and visiting your current world.. anyway apparently, the list goes on ...... 🙄
I remember there were a few clothing racks in the Sims 2 you could get and if you wanted to you could build a clothing store. You would literally have to click on the clothing rack, select the clothes you wanted and then your sim would have to go to the cash register where the shop assistant would ring them up and then your sim had the clothes in their dresser. Same with groceries.
The clothing thing is one of my biggest grips. Besides clothes being free, it's annoying that we are limited to 35 clothes, so if I want to change clothes after wearing the 35 o already wore, I have to go back into CAS. In Sims 2, there was no limits on clothing in your inventory and you had to pay to for clothes. I miss in the Sims 2 where you went shopping for clothes, could try them on, go on shopping sprees and even buy clothes for the entire household. They could have had Sims go shopping for clothes or purchase clothes online. I also don't understand why cash registers aren't functional either, just decorative like most objects are in this game.
Also, the Sims 4 has a criminal career and a klepto trait but no burglars in the game, make that make sense....SMH!!!

@@grellswife I think they mean because there are seven outfit categories and you can have five outfits within each.. but to me that seems like more than enough to be honest. I only ever use one per category because I'd find it insufferably boring to a) have to look through so many clothes to find an outfit I want my sim to wear, b) have to make so many outfits in the first place, and c) download enough CC so that there are actually enough clothes I like, because even just with seven total outfits per sim, I find myself using the same few items per category. Yeah I can opt not to use extra outfits but it really would just seem wild to have more than we already do.
Thank you so much for mentioning the issues with the gallery! There's a button to only show elements with packs you own, but it _does_not_work_! I thought it was only an issue I had, but it's very reassuring that it's indeed the game.

7:39 i actually like this bc it’s very useful when u need to see more of that item ur using it on. so like if i realize i don’t like the bed i had put down before and want to select a different one, instead of clicking through the menu i can just eye drop the bed and the whole selection would pop up with just one click
I agree that weather should be in the base game however, if we’re talking about it being added because its a life simulation game, then you could also make the argument that university, cats and dogs, city living, island living and literally every pack should be free because its part if life/adds to life.
When you play the sims 4, you have to fight with your sim. What do I mean by that? The Sim will randomly cancel your action to do something you don't want them to do.
Another thing is just stupid. My sim is asleep with really low energy, but then they'll randomly wake up. I go see the reason why and they passed out on the ground despite I put them in bed earlier. WHY?!
All jobs in the Sims 4 is boring unless you got the Get to Work pack.
Witches will just stop trying to learn spells once they unlock one. Why can't they continue doing it, so I can cancel it when I want to.
The island paradise pack is so boring. Especially the mermaids since they literally don't do much or anything at all.

Why are you getting angry about things that don’t even effect you? You can easily choose to have a non furnished home, choose not to use cheats, choose to wear items with real languages on them, choose not use debug cars, babies, use certain eyes, and the lag is most likely because you keep to many tabs open.
Please do a complete comparison in main Sims games 1 to 4.
I am looking to get back to the Sims but don't know which one to play.
Maybe Sims 2 or 3.
I think 2 and 3 are the shining stars of the series… if you’re down for tinkering a bit to get them to run correctly. 2 is the best in terms of small details and arguably the best family style play. There’s also a ton of graphics mods that make it look better than the sims 4 imo. Sims 3 is best if you love the idea of an open world and unlimited customization. Plus it has some really fun RPG style stuff in it… oh and all the rabbit holes are interactable, unlike 4. I often bounce between the two games.
I'd recommend playing S2 first if you've played S4. I think S2 and S4 are similar in that you'll find the transition easy (as in loading screens, swatches for furniture, rotational style gameplay). S2 offers a lot of gameplay depth, challenge, variety, and drama that S4 lacks. S1 is the most challenging of the 4 but it is where the series started. If you can overcome how the game plays, you'll find plenty of fun in S1. There are guides and mods (known as hacks for S1) available online to make the experience comfortable. S1 and S2 is available on oldgamesdownload since both games are considered abandonware (you'll need a fix for S2's IKEA stuff if you get it from ogd). S3 is my personal favorite as it really plays like nothing else in the series. I love the rpg style gameplay and challenges you can participate in. However if your system can't run 3, but you want to experience the rpg gameplay, Medieval is really good.
I wish I knew how to make mods. I would fix the pricing and filters of e v e r y single item in the game. I would make sure e v e r y item has a basic black, white, grey and brown swatch that matches.
This game needs to be fixed, it’s currently built on a broken foundation 😭
And I agree that CAS clothes should cost money, especially now that we have thrift shops in the game.
There was a system when we had to pay for clothes in the Sims 2
Oml i hate it when these discovery quests keep notifying me over and over again! 😤 And when i tell my sim to feed or bring the baby to bed, it just keeps standing still and doesn't do anything. I got a neglect warning, and FINALLY my sim was gonna feed the baby.
Lately I've been getting a glitch where sometimes I can backspace in text entry fields, but I can't type anything, and the only way to fix it is to exit the game.
Also, baking was introduced in Get to Work, so only recipes from that pack are in that menu.
In The Sims 2, you had to go to the store to buy new clothes and use a dresser to change into them. I really miss that. Dressers and stores are pointless.
To be honest I think I won’t buy any other pack unless something REALLY changes for free,for everyone.They keep getting our money and we get poor content for a fortune.I honestly think I’ll move my ass to Paralives just for the new content.
What I really dislike is when I send my sims to visit something in their neighbourhood they walk ALL the way over there, but you still get a fricking loading screen. OMG, I'm losing my mind over then!
I miss in the sims 3 when you bought a house "unfurnished" it would still come with the kitchen, bathrooms, and light fixtures
Here’s one: wood tones in certain furniture collections not matching, or having swatches that make no sense. Example: that “Mega” furniture collection is clearly all supposed to go together, yet there are certain items like the shelf only having 3 wood swatches, and the bed not having a wood tone to match the default Mega wood tone. The “Caress” collection has a couple items that offer 3 dark wood tones with a different gold trim, while others only offer 2 dark wood tones and they’re never consistent!
