    Final at 10:45. There are tons of things I could have done to improve the scene. Adding stone wall terrace along the path, decorating the interior of the crypt, adding Ivy on all the gravestones, better looking river, fences, smarter birds, etc. We'll leave that for another day. Big thanks for all the support!

    Definitely impressed with all your work Mav - an inspiration! Currently I'm learning Unreal on my MacPro, but hopefully will get to build my own PC/rendering station in the future. Bro you should make a game! My goal is something cinematic, immersive and story-driven.

    man ....when i look at ur work ....iget despert and motivaitional at the same time........ggwp

    • @Nirvanexus
      @Nirvanexus 7 років тому +1

      It's alright to get desperate, but don't let it consume you. Don't stay desperate, cause then you won't be able to take the right decisions for your scenes. Desperation often equals in quickly done jobs, which almost always look disastrous when compared to the desired goal. Have that in mind with every job you wanna do. With every project. Do not allow desperation and frustration to consume you. If you start to feel like that with a project, then take a distance from it for some time. Do something else until you no longer feel desperate or frustrated and irritated at your desired project. Then return and work on. That way takes longer, yes. But it also gives you the exact goal you seek :)
      Btw, no offense intended.

    Your choice of music is always spot on, it amplifies the already amazing level work that do. I got chills when the final product was displayed (and the wolf howls were perfectly timed). I have a question about the crow animation at the end, how did you do that? Did you animated in Maya/Max and then export to UE4? Or another method?
    Please keep up the good work!

    Nice job! One quick question, how does Unreal Engine handle mesh clipping? I mean, performance-wise... I've seen that you do that a bit often, and (as I have a big toaster) I always wondered if those things actually made a huge impact in performance

    • @Maverick99
      @Maverick99  7 років тому +1

      It's bad practice. Sometimes depending on the environment you can get away with it but it should always be avoided. Using modular kits in creative ways sometimes forces you to clip meshes. That can be avoided though by throwing them in Maya adjusting them. Nice thing about making these scenes is I don't have to focus on optimization which is half the job sometimes.

    • @FMontanari709
      @FMontanari709 7 років тому

      Maverick you don't have to focus on optimization because it lacks the playable part, or because you have a good computer? Where there any projects that you had to remake because of issues like these?

    • @Maverick99
      @Maverick99  7 років тому +1

      Because it lacks the playable part. My scenes do lag though when I put a ton of offline rendering models in the scene. You need a strong PC to run unreal comfortably. You can get around it though by turning off lighting and not going crazy with mesh clipping or using high poly models.

    @Maverick You're so talented, you should make maps for CoD Zombies. this would make a great map, just add barriers to buy the way up to the crypt and have the pack a punch on the alter lol it would be awesome. oh and if you do come back and make this one better can you remember to make it turn night time, like really dark so all the lights you put around the map stand out.
