In other words, it says in the manual there are NO illegal moves or punches in this game. That's how they get away with it. It's basically like a slugfest or the Kumite in Bloodsport.
Mike Tyson's Punch Out remains one of my favorite games of all time and even though Super Punch Out lacks the personality and style of the original, I really liked the game. It was also much easier than the original. I didn't have any real trouble with an opponent until Hoy Quarlow.
About the only way they're the same (aside from being fat) is that Mac's body blows do no damage to either of them, at all. As for Mad Clown, he can be quite a bit more aggressive than Bear Hugger if he gets the chance; and he typically tries every trick in his arsenal (except his "Showtime" attack) in order to give himself that chance.
I finally beat this game after 1 month of practicing. Nick Bruiser nearly got me TKOed but I f’ed him up! Awesome game, deserves more praise, in my opinion it’s the BEST Punch-Out game.
