I'm 52 and I can tell you life rarely ever works out the way you think it will. I never imagined my mom would get dementia and pass before my dad, who is 6 years older. I never imagined my dad would outlive not only my mom, but all 5 of his younger siblings. There are other things I could list. I just don't make expectations and I roll with it. Life can still be enjoyable.
You have a very exciting 2023 coming up! Enjoy it all Lia! Do things that make you happy and comfortable. This is about and for you not for other people. Thank you for the update! 🎉⭐️💕
Cherish the time with your Dad and all your family as much as possible, Lia. I miss both my parents and other family that has passed on, so this may be in the cards as what's best at this point in time for you. Wedding planning, btw, is a full time job for six months! I only had 32 guests but the details of wedding prep are ginormous! Living with the two most important men of your life right now is amazing, so happy for you. One day when you get your house I hope it won't be too far away from your dad...but for now cherish every moment. I so wish I could go back to when I got married at 29 when my dad was still alive. Do you have salt caves in England? They are amazing! So you sit on a gravity chair and they give you a light blanket and just breath in the Himalayan salty air. It’s great for respiratory for your skin for arthritis and some places offer a reflexology while your relaxing. Just idea for you to do with your friends before your wedding 😊

Sometimes old before becoming a parent can be a good thing. Especially if you're still in good health. I was a little bit older than most before becoming a parent and have zero regrets. I did lots of fun things at younger ages that you can't really do when you have children. I wasn't limited on time by needing to get back to my kids. At the time I would have preferred to have had kids younger but since it just didn't happen I decided to enjoy life.
Lia, one of the funniest sketches I ever saw of yours was when you were a store manager and a woman wanted to return a top she had just bought. You kept switching to roles, sometimes surreptitiously and then right in front of her. It was hilarious!!
I think we have come full circle. When I was young I couldn't wait to live on my own, and now lots of young people live with their parents. My parents got married right after WWII and lived in a small apartment in my grandmother's house for quite a few years while my father went to law school, and later while he was getting established. A lot of it depends on the economy.
Things rarely work out perfectly. It's good to plan, but you never know of the curveballs life throws you. And really it's a good thing how it's worked out, as you pointed out. And remember, "man plans, God laughs."

(But ps it does creep up on you at a certain point.-Working out and eating right will hold it off nicely though.). Pick one of your fave hotels to do an overnight girl trip for your bachelorette party! It will be fun and will distress you.
most important is that people THERE at the wedding are close friends and family. not work people, or neighbors (unless they are close friends) please do calm down. YOU have to enjoy "your day". the hen party plans ....yep manicures and a nice dinner. the bridal shower.....I actually went to a joint shower. it was for the bride AND groom. quite unique, and it was fun.
Nothing wrong with having kids in your 30s! I didn't have my first until I was 31 (just had my second at 35), and my husband was 36 almost 37. Having kids when you're older allows you to be more stable, emotionally & financially. I think it's great that your dad has allowed you to live with him and save money- that's huge! And I can't imagine having 350 people at my wedding. 75 felt huge to me lol.

I know how you feel Lia. I love celebrating everyone’s birthdays or special occasions. Yet I never celebrate my own birthday etc….. its because I’m extroverted but hate being the centre of attention. So a surprise party is a no from me ha ha ha.
Cherish time with your dad. I had to bury my father last week. I was not ready to let him go. It’s hard to get into the holiday season and I feel like staying home alone and doing nothing. To combat that, I’m having lunch with good friends in a couple days and in a few weeks I’m going to an art exhibit with a different friend. Keep busy, but take some time for yourself.

I was wondering if you were going to be able to share about your godson 💗. Great photo of the three of you! We're Roman Catholic and when we Baptized our oldest we chose to have her immersed. She did really well with the immersion, didn't fuss at all, but when our priest wrapped her in her towel and handed her to me it took her all of 2 minutes to WEE all over the towel, me, and the altar. I was 😱☠🤣. Needless to say, the next two were "sprinkled" instead of being immersed 😂.
Also, my cousin married into a Greek Orthodox family after being raised pretty much agnostic. It was a huge culture shift for her, as you can imagine! Her kids were immersed also 😁
Aww that's so lovely! I laughed at the pee!! classic 😂 Our godson was sooo well behaved as well, didn't cry at all when he got immersed into the water. xx

People and their age fixations. My mom had my sister and me at 39 and 41 and my dad was 36 & 38. They did MORE than all the other parents around us that were younger--camped with us, biked, Girl Scout troop leader, swim team treasurer, drove us to a zillion activities all while working full time. Older parents have gotten out their wiggles and are often more financially secure, all of which make child rearing easier. Take your time.

YOU have to enjoy "your day". the hen party plans ....yep manicures and a nice dinner. the bridal shower.....I actually went to a joint shower. it was for the bride AND groom. quite unique, and it was fun.

Nothing wrong with having kids in your 30s! I didn't have my first until I was 31 (just had my second at 35), and my husband was 36 almost 37. Having kids when you're older allows you to be more stable, emotionally & financially. I think it's great that your dad has allowed you to live with him and save money- that's huge! And I can't imagine having 350 people at my wedding. 75 felt huge to me lol.

You are both young and doing an amazing job of juggling all of this lol You mentioned age/having kids - I am 54 my husband is 57 and we have a 31 year old son and a 22 month old daughter sooooo yeah anything can be done at any age lol

I know how you feel Lia. I love celebrating everyone’s birthdays or special occasions. Yet I never celebrate my own birthday etc….. its because I’m extroverted but hate being the centre of attention. So a surprise party is a no from me ha ha ha.

Cherish time with your dad. I had to bury my father last week. I was not ready to let him go. It’s hard to get into the holiday season and I feel like staying home alone and doing nothing. To combat that, I’m having lunch with good friends in a couple days and in a few weeks I’m going to an art exhibit with a different friend. Keep busy, but take some time for yourself.

I was wondering if you were going to be able to share about your godson 💗. Great photo of the three of you! We're Roman Catholic and when we Baptized our oldest we chose to have her immersed. She did really well with the immersion, didn't fuss at all, but when our priest wrapped her in her towel and handed her to me it took her all of 2 minutes to WEE all over the towel, me, and the altar. I was 😱☠🤣. Needless to say, the next two were "sprinkled" instead of being immersed 😂.
Also, my cousin married into a Greek Orthodox family after being raised pretty much agnostic. It was a huge culture shift for her, as you can imagine! Her kids were immersed also 😁

Thank you for posting this. I’m a retired Cathedral organist. I saw just that happen to so many children and parents. Now that I’m retired, I miss those little human moments. God bless you all, and Happy Advent!
People and their age fixations. My mom had my sister and me at 39 and 41 and my dad was 36 & 38. They did MORE than all the other parents around us that were younger--camped with us, biked, Girl Scout troop leader, swim team treasurer, drove us to a zillion activities all while working full time. Older parents have gotten out their wiggles and are often more financially secure, all of which make child rearing easier. Take your time.
I actually prefer you and Joel separately on your own channels. Basically because you come across as more genuine. Best wishes.
