Omg I always wanted to hear about someone ripping this apart cuz it was one of the only shoujo i read when I was younger. Unlike other stories, I kinda enjoyed it cus I felt like it relished in its toxicity (she literally was forced to marry the guy cuz otherwise she’d be eaten) without trying to pretend too much like it was actually romance. No matter how much they said it was love, it just never felt real.
And nobody talks about it so I’m glad to see it haha

Or like Demon Love Spell. There's another one, but she can limit him (shrine maden powers and shit) and does so often until she wants contact with him! So it has a way to stop the whole "demons like sex" thing. She is still like 16 tho... He also is genuinely caring and does what he can to prove he's a safe and genuine guy. He is problematic in some ways but I feel like it's waayyy more believable with the demon personality traits there, at least. Especially because he changes over time to be more caring and fixes behaviors.
There were a lot of shoujo and josei mangas around that time that were trash with stupid as F female leads.

I read a few volumes as a kid but the main guy was not to my liking so i never read anymore. Awesome to see the review! I'm saddened that such a cool manga concept was pulled off in such a creepy and uncomfortable way. They feel more like supernatural horror than romance

I kinda liked it, but it had really sus moments lol
And a lot of people complained that Kaneki X Touka from Tokyo Ghoul, Denji X Reze from Chainsaw Man, Inuyasha X Kagome, maybe Fighter D X Yumeko, maybe Naruto x Hinata from Loser Ranger and maybe Akira X Shizuka from Zom 100 were toxic. But at least the "toxic" characters like Touka and Inuyasha had a lot of character development near the end of their respective series. Sure Reze tried to kill Denji on their first date, but at least she later cared for Denji and tried to patch things up with him before Makima killed her and later resurrect her as one of her Hybrid Minions. These people are a lot better love interests than Kyo.
It's embarrassing to like this manga, maybe I'm easily bored when the shoujo manga was too lighthearted and lack of twist and turns, this one reminds me of harlequin romances and bodice rippers, it should targeted for older audience at least
