Thank you so much for this interview, I'm saving it! Shelley Fabares has had a fabulous career. Every show she was on was so much better because of her. Love these stories ❤
John Cato - Thank you so much for this phenomenal interview with Shelley; you are an awesome interviewer with an obvious regard and respect for my favorite actress; she is a great storyteller and am always happy to see her doing well.
Coach and One Day at a Time were two of my favorite shows. Shelley has had a wonderful career and it could not have happened to a more deserving person. She is so nice and humble too.
I want to give thanks to the blogger for these interviews with the 1950s TV " kids " in their latter days . So much first hand history for the younger folks to discover .
She is as wonderful as I thought she would be. Thank you for this great interview, but she did 3 Elvis movies. Maybe you could have her back and ask about Elvis? That is what I knew her from first.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the interview! Honestly we had so much to talk about that we just didn't have time to talk about Elvis. Believe me I would love too, we will see.
@@12Gaile So happy you enjoyed the interview, hope you saw the first episode with Shelley as well. Mike is such a great guy and they definitely complement each other😀
What a classy lady. Great Interview as always. Coach was a great show. I agree Jerry Van Dyke never got the credit he deserved but wound up having very good career
What a great interview! Part 2 was better than the 1st part. Shelley has had an amazing career and a ver diverse one at that. She comes off like a very nice, kind person. Her Aunt Nanette was very proud of her, I'm sure. Loved Coach and Jerry Van Dyke who made that show fabulous. Thanks for sharing!
@@csrothlisberger852 Awesome, so glad to hear! There is a lot of interesting moments regarding Coach and Brian’s Song that I just loved as well. I think Shelley is very genuine without a doubt.
Holy moly! This was the very coolest interview!! I feel like I grew up with this lady! She is just the very best and has always seemed the epitome of class & elegance. I remember being amazed how she would glide across the floor on the Donna Reed show! I know that’s silly, but so true. I always wondered how she could be so incredibly graceful. 😊 Thank you so much both of you for doing this! It was just wonderful to watch. (Both videos!!!!)❤
LOVED this two-part interview with Shelley Fabares. I've loved her since her Donna Reed days, and even have her greatest hits CD (despite saying she cannot sing, she was a charming singer). I could have listened to her for another hour. Thank you, John!!
I still remember the Coach episode where Luther had begged Coach to let him coach a game, and they lost. Luther was in the office, with the press at the door, and he was doing jumping jacks and pushups to induce a heart attack.....it was hilarious! I wonder if alot of Jerry's humor covered alot of pain.
I am so glad there was a part two! I just adore Shelly so much, it's been about 6 months since last I watched the Donna Reed Show, I'm thinking I need to start it again! I really enjoy her interviews, I always learn something new!! One of my favorite nighttime shows to watch it Annette. Someone combined all the episodes & it can be watched like a movie now...I love it!! I saw one of the boys that plays in it on A Word On Westerns, Steve Stevens, what a lovely man! This was about a year ago. Thank you so much for a nice visit with, Shelly!!! 🩷
Karen, I am so glad you caught my second episode with Shelley, she has such a huge body of work it is truly hard to take it all in. That is very cool about the Annette show and wonderful to let everyone know as well.
BONUS!! Part 2 :) What a beautiful woman. Loved her stories and you as always are such a fantastic host/interviewer. We enjoyed it and laughed about the flipping finger incident. Thank you again John. Loved it.
@@ThatsClassicTV We just love all your posts. I don't think Karl and I have ever listened to one that we didn't like. That says a lot to me about your way with people and asking all the good stuff :) I loved that Mike Farrell was hanging around if he didn't show up, but what a great time this was. We will be celebrating our 44th anniversary this September. Seems like just yesterday. :) Thanks again.
@@bambijimper Happy anniversary Jamie, that is no small accomplishment for you and Karl! Wishing you both many more. Thanks for the kind words and just glad you are enjoying the interviews as much as me:)
@@ThatsClassicTV Thank you John. It hasn't been an easy trip for sure, but I wouldn't want to make it with anyone else. Shhhhhh, don't tell him that lol
One more thing, in the movie A Wish Is A Dream Your Heart Makes about the life of Annette Funicello, Shelley played herself in the later scene where she finally had lunch with Annette
James Caan really wanted to play Brian Piccolo bc he loved playing football and the movie gave him that chance, also the home that they used for Brian Piccolo and his family was the home from Bewitched
Miss Fabares talks about the funniness off camera of Jerry Van Dyke , I guess the saying the right role pertains to him . Mr. Van Dyke was not so funny on the Judy Garland show , the Andy Griffith show nor on the infamous My Mother The Car . He was funny on his guest appearances on his brothers show . He must have bared tragedy with death of his daughter .

I agree Jill, Shelley has such a kindness about her and is so thankful.
My favorite part was hearing about her friendship with Annette. Thank you for asking Shelley to continue the discussion through the MS diagnosis.
My pleasure! I was very touched by her thoughts about Annette and how they became friends, glad you enjoyed it!

Appreciate that James😀
Shelley is one of the few tv stars to be apart of two classic shows from two different decades: The Donna Reed Show and Coach. Quite a lady.
Shelley is definitely quite a lady😀
