John, I absolutely adored these 2 videos with Pat as well as the one with Butch so much! I always enjoy hearing from people who worked on old and popular shows like the Munsters and the stories they share, not to mention they’re willing to do much more for fans by doing meet and greets and all. But yeah, I’m so happy Pat and Butch are still with us today as they just turned 87 and 70 this year.
I met Pat about 5 years ago. I got a signed picture and a couple of photos and I was blessed to talk to her for a while. Love you Pat. Thank you for the memories ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much. She is a treasure, had a blast, glad you enjoyed it. In case you didn’t look more at my channel there is another interview I did with Pat and one with Butch Patrick as well. Enjoy😀
What a wonderful video! She is the sweetest lady! I met her at The Hollywood Show in 2014 or 2015. The person in line in front of me was having trouble with her Smart phone and taking a picture together with Pat. They finally got it figured out. It was my turn to meet her. She saw that I had a digital camera (this was before I had a Smart phone). She saw my camera and thanked me profusely for having a regular camera! We had a good laugh over it! I always enjoy your videos! Thank you for doing them!
The Munsters has to be my favorite show of all time. One question I would love to ask Pat is how her children and grandchildren feel about the show and having such an iconic mother/grandmother.
That is a good question and if I interview her again I will try to remember to ask her. She did tell a story in the first interview I did with her of a little boy coming up to her at an autograph show that gives a hint of what they might have thought.😀
I met Pat years ago at the Hollywood Collectors Show and she told me that her kids were about Butch Patrick's age, which surprised me, since I am Butch Patrick's age so her kids were around ten in 1964 just like us fans.
Another great interview with Pat, John! Here's an idea for one Munsters segment on your show: have on Pat and Butch! The stories that'll probably come out of them together will be wild, no doubt.
What can I say-another fantastic episode. It's great that you have it on Spotify also so that I can listen to it while on my way to work. These are so insightful and I love hearing their recollections-it adds to the joy I experienced when I watched the shows countless times in my youth. The Munsters was always a favorite with Gilligan's Island and all of the classics [many of which you have interviewed already] along with the detective genres like Barnaby Jones, Mannix, Banacek, etc. I look forward to every time I get a notification that a new episode is ready. Keep up the good work! Thank you for doing this.
Thank you Robert as always. I wish some of those detective celebs were still with us, I remember them well. So glad you hit the notification bell as well. I have people write in all the time that have not seen episodes I have posted because they missed them. As long as there are great interviews out there in this genre I will keep doing it!
Back in 1980, I had a friend who worked in a law firm in Manhattan that represented Fred Gwynne. Apparently Fred mentioned the challenges of the first season on The Munster's set when Yvonne expected to be treated like she used to be while shooting a major motion picture with a big budget vs a new TV show. It caused some discord in the beginning with other cast members. But Fred himself wasn't always appreciative of fans who approached him. Guess he had forgotten that fans are the ones who drive an artists career. I hope that my comments aren't outside of the guidelines of this incredible podcast. .
Not at all, I appreciate your comments. Fred obviously wanted to put Herman Munster behind him once the show ended so he could be a versatile actor and not be typecast. It is a shame on one level for the fans and a reality that for some actors they see being typecast as a kiss of death. I think they lose track of the fact that they were so fortunate to have had the break that so many actors never get.No matter what Fred was incredible as Herman Munster.
WOW! As you know we love hearing about how they filmed back in the day. Things that they would do, that would not even pass today. Terrific job interviewing. Her story in the store is classic. Maybe he will watch this ...lol. Bernard Fox was the actor you were looking for who played Dr Bombay. He was one of my fav actors also. I love her recollections of having lunch with Fred and Al. Thank you again for a great interview. So much fun.
Thanks as always , and Pat has the best recollections. I knew it was Bernard Fox but in the moment it just didn’t come to me😂I know I would have loved to have been in the lunch commissary with all of the cast. What a time!
@@ThatsClassicTV Agreed, though it would have been even more fun to the be in the store. What a silly question from the guy. I think I would have delved into even deeper trivia questions...lol. Just too funny to pass up.
I hope Pat does come back to do some autograph shows, as I would love to meet her and get an autographed picture! John, when you talk to her next, please tell her that watching her in these interviews has made quite the impression on me, as I'm sure it has with many of her fans. I've always been a fan of the Munsters and love Marilyn, but after seeing her lovely personality and friendliness, I am now a Pat Priest fan. Love your YT Channel!
Glad to hear Elizabeth and I know Pat will appreciate it as well. I may have her back by summer, we will see. I am glad you are enjoying the interviews. I hope you also had a chance to listen to the interview I did with Butch Patrick as well.
Pat is such a nice humble woman. Really enjoyed both interviews you did with her John. The chemistry that they had on the Munster's cannot be replaced. Too bad there were only 2 seasons.

A few months ago I discovered this channel and absolutely love it! So far I have had the great honor of watching both interviews with one and only Pat Priest. What a delightful lady she is in addition to a great actress. Her stores of being on the set and cast of one of my favorite childhood shows The Munsters is fascinating to me. Enjoyed the interview very much! You and Pat are correct. The audience identifies a particular actor/actress with a role in a series, and it rarely works if that person is replaced by someone else. I can think of many examples of a replacement not meeting the public's approval.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the interview as much as I enjoyed doing it😀Honestly I can’t think of a TV series where they ever pulled it off with new actors.
Back in 1980, I was on the VIP tour at Universal Studios and was able to walk up onto the front porch of the Munster's house.
