This guy was screwed over most of his life in the worst circumstances and tries to spread a positive message out and most of y’all in the comments bashing him and questioning if he is just trying to scam people? Jesus, grow up people stop being so toxic, this mans voice holds a lot of weight and can be very inspiring if you actually open up to it.
I am all for giving people the benefit of the doubt but something about him sets off red flags all over the place for me. If you notice he talks about everything going against him, which is a thing junkies do to get sympathy and then he tries to flatter Joe with how talented he is....this is classic speaking patterns by an addict. I wish I could see things as positively as you do...I really do.
You did hear him admit he was a scumbag junkie who was caught in a stolen car and was jailed already when he caught the murder rap. He was a lifelong criminal and karma handed him a murder charge.
hey joe..i know you dont read your comments..but hopefully you have moderators that do..would really like to see a follow up podcast with this fella..just to hear how he is now..great show!
Comment section: "Yeah, there's something really off about this guy" As he is literally telling you how he was tortured for years, raped as a child and was addicted to drugs........ What's wrong with yall
So are you saying that his entire story was fabricated? If not then you are criticizing the fact that he wants to make money so if that is his main fault in your eyes then i guess we are all guilty. "He just want's money so he can get high" Bitch, so do I hahha so does everyone else. You want him to be perfect but guess what, he's a human too. And if he happens to be a crackhead or whatever then i hope he can smoke all the crack his heart desires after what he went through. stop
@@absorbtheearth82 Hahaha exactly! Ya'll spend 22 years in supermax prison, deal with rape, your child dying at a young age, and negativity from every direction then coming out still on the mostly-positive side of things. This dude's a champ and can smoke all the meth he wants as far as I'm concerned. He's earned it.
This man has endured several horrendous actions and was addicted to drugs, what do you expect? Im amazed he is doing as well as he is. From the child rape to being on death row, many would have committed suicide from going through just one of these things. What do you expect from a human that has went through what this guy did? We need more empathy in our society. I worked at a prison in Indiana and where I worked was where they put murderers that were also insane. Something that did not happen ever was what he described happened to him while in prison. I'm not saying this did not happen to him I'm just saying this never in the 2 years I worked with these inmates which many would call, the worst of the worst.
My heart is so broken for him. I hope his life is filled with so much goodness for the rest of his days and that unconditional love is all he receives. He deserves it so much. 😥
Yeah but he's gonna vote for joe Biden. To make matters worse he also stated he was a fan of Bernie Sanders. Such a smart man I dont get how he comes to the conclusion that joe or Bernie are good for the country.
dude lied about moon landing when people started to question and wake up, and then he switched the script, man was always a puppet working for them, fear factor was no coincidence
And that's the point...all these negative, judgemental, know it alls in this comment section can kick rocks. If this dudes story can positively help even just a couple people change their life and perspective , then who gives a shit if half his story is exaggerated. If you clowns been through or seen a fraction of what this dude has, who knows what kinda f ed up stories you might tell when you finally get exonerated of your charges after 22 years. That's all this dudes prime years stolen from him...never to be givin' back to him. Think of all the good times, learning experiences, love making, partying you did from 20-42 or however old you are. You might fill in some gaps too if you were put in a cage all that time. Fighting dudes off from f cking you in the ass. Forced to fight just to see another day. The whole time knowing you shouldn't even be there. Systems f cked up. As long as people down play stories like his, and this has happened too many times in our justice system, nothing will change. Check Kalief Browder's story if you care to. That Kalief for sure wasn't a "meth head" or full of crap as many of you claim this dude is. -A side note, for everyone that's on some sort of pain pills in this country, there's probably equal amount of people on Adderall or an equivalent which basically is meth...
Brother im suffering from same addiction plz have u some advice how 2 get out this hell hole ive got myself out off. Need a person to show me the path who has suffered this addiction ??????????
Man.. Hats off to you, Joe. I really love how you handled this podcast. Letting your ears work twice as hard as you mouth, and adding true sincerity the entire way. Nice work my man.
To all the folks thinking Nick is snakey: 1.) He's been severely psychologically scarred. Lengthy solitary confinement can be extremely damaging. He was in for 22 years. That alone will be excuse enough for someone to be a bit squirrely. 2.) He stutters, so his inflection seems kind of weird and forced, because it is forced. 3.) He has a history of stimulant abuse. he may not have stopped. I won't judge him for that. He'd probably upgrade/downgrade to adderall once he starts making money.
This guy just dropped the coldest opening to any podcast I've ever heard in my life... Holy shit man, I'm so glad that you are exposing the abuse that goes on. No human being should ever have to go through anything like that.
I believe a documentary of his story is still on Netflix, "The Fear Of 13." He's an absolutely amazing story teller and his story is tragically beautiful.
@@stylhercWhy ? For analysis. It reminds we can transcend the tragedy of life and we are rougher and tougher than we think we are. But I bet such conversation would reach its peak in a intimate enviroment without any cameras and microphones around.
@@Feezwa I see your point and I'd totally be down for that, however there's another reply somewhere that the guy's a fraud or something. Regardless, I feel they have totally different perspectives on life. Yarris's persona is about hardship, Jordan is a lot more theoretical. I think I'd like Jordan try to analyze the guy's psyche and get to the bottom of the root of his twisted creativity (or source of bad karma)
I'm overcoming a few things in my life. Listening to Nick really gave me a whole new perspective on how lucky I am. Thank you Nick for sharing your amazing story. #nevergiveup
I think Joe truly feels bad for this guy after everything he's been through(who wouldn't) and he's throwing him a bone hoping his audience can positively impact his life. The guy obviously must deal with some sort of ptsd. He also doesn't exactly understand internet ethics so I'm not surprised that people are assuming that he's scamming but I think he's being genuine. People are just being cynical as fuck lol
People aren't being cynical as fuck, look at the like to dislike ratio. A loud minority in the comments, nothing more. Also his story is interesting af, Joe could have him on without feeling pity
He's incredibly damaged. I know what people mean when they say something seems off about him - but, if one was raped had their head smashed in as a child, is aphasic and has spent 22 years on death row only to be released (exonerated by three sources of DNA, sounds pretty conclusive to me)? Anyone would be a little off. That doesn't mean that he's a saint, or that he's necessarily reliable on all the facts, but he's a human being - we can only take so much. The thing about him saying what a great guy he is? He's brain damaged and more than a little childlike - hes not going to make sense in the same way that someone who hasn't had the experiences he has had would.
Yeah people getting weirded out by a guy that had awful childhood and spend 20 years starting in young adulthood in hell. What do you expect? He has every reason to be a little weird.
Phytom Listen I don’t believe everything he says like I don’t believe he sees things before it happens and all that shit anybody could say that after something has happened but I also refuse to believe that a person would make up some of the things that he claims happened to him like being abused as a child because that is no fucking joke
He's not the perfect human being. But how would you function after 20+ years of hardcore prison? People are so aggressive here in the comment section, I think they would change their minds if they met and got to know the guy.
I don't support the death penalty. My only exception would be the people responsible for hiding and destroying the evidence in this man's case. Literally filth
One of the most inspirational podcasts you've done Joe. As a former inmate in maximum security for 5 yrs and now being out for 8 yrs and getting my life together this show and guest truly touched me and motivated me to continue to better myself. I can't wait to watch the Netflix documentary and also read Nicks books. Thank you for giving him this avenue to speak and this is why i listen to every show bc you never know where motivation will come from.
heres a quote by me: "those who truly consider themselves a functioning and attentive man, husband, parent, friend, lover,, etc wouldn't need two hours of stories to convince of how good he is. He would show us his life now...
I'm not sure what there is about his story that people don't buy. There is pretty clear evidence that he is and experienced much of what he claimed. He's not here asking for handouts, either. Not sure who you think he's trying to con. If you think he's playing up his story to sell a book or movie, then every autobiographer is a con artist by that right. For those claiming he has some mental health issues, are you surprised? Experiencing what he did at age 7 would be enough to ruin most people. It's no wonder he took to a life of theft and drugs in early adulthood. And he freely admitted to how awful of a person he was. You can tell that he hates the person he was. He never said he didn't belong in jail, but he certainly didn't deserve the extent of hell he went through. Regarding him having a "Messiah" complex, there is probably some truth to that. But if you've been down to the bottom of hell and stayed for a while, like he has, and somehow crawled your way back up, you'd be proud of yourself and every positive contribution you make. And for good reason. I bet he feels like a champion every time a single person claims that he's helped. He never thought he could do so much good for others, so of course he's proud of himself. This is a broken man that has crawled out from the depths of hell and is simply trying to get by with a message of positivity. Don't give him your money. Just take his message and do some good in the world.
if someones been told that they are a monster for 40+ years of their life and now suddenly people are praising, ofcourse hes gonna have a messiah complex, his definition of "normal" has always been people telling him that he doesnt deserve to live and now hes getting the opposite, ofcourse hes gonna be proud of himself
There is VERY clear EVIDENCE that he's a liar! He lied to the police in order to get his ass off the hook in the first place according to him and then he even admitted to be a liar. There's too many fanciful things in his story also, this guy has a knack for telling crazy stories. I am not blaming him for his lies either because it appears that he suffers from mental illness that is a direct cause of the nonsense that he speaks of.
@William Runner: He is quite open about that he lied. That's what young people in such a fucked up situation do. You possibly might do the same. It doesn't matter though. What matters though is that there is FACTUAL EVIDENCE that he was indeed on death row. Fact. There is factual evidence that he was wrongly committed to death row. There's factual evidence that the "justice system" took 21 years of this mans life. That is all fact, and you can not disprove it. Is everything else he states about the abuse he suffered correct? Who knows? You certainly can't proof it. He can't proof much of it. But are you telling me that someone trying to turn his life around, after WAITING TO GET KILLED FOR 21 YEARS is not someone you can at least give the benefit of the doubt? Does he have a "mental illness"? Maybe. After all the abuse he suffered, why wouldn't he? Again, you can't prove any of that. You're just talking out of your asshole. You should step back and have a serious look at yourself. There is something seriously wrong with yourself.
Nah dude. Actual conversations that can actually utilize things like nuance are too difficult and time consuming. People today want little soundbites and twitter headlines. The people you are talking about just want to leave a cunty comment and then fuck off.
he delivers the story in a way that comes off very rehearsed, and like deliberately emotional at certain points. at least that's how it comes off to me. that's not to say he's necessarily lying though, maybe he just had it rehearsed to lessen the performance anxiety and make sure he explained everything properly.
A comment from the Joe Rogan sub reddit I found VERY interesting: “I've been pondering whether or not it was of any worth to post this. I've decided I feel that I should. Nick and I met last year. I'd heard his story on another podcast, and it intrigued me. I reached out to him to book him as a speaker at a professional conference that I was on the organizing committee of. He came, did his talk which went over very well, and the two of us got speaking and formed a friendship, or at least the start of one. From our initial meetings it was clear that Nick had a lot of problems. Many, many problems. How could he not? The real issues started for me though, when I kept catching him in lies. Lies about his 'story', about his life currently. When anyone would challenge him on these lies, he'd get extremely angry. Scarily so. He'd bang his fists, screamingly deny telling different stories, snarl abuse, go on the defensive. To see him so angry was almost like seeing a dog turn on you...he tries - very hard, I think - to be softly spoken, prides himself on being polite, gracious and forgiving. Until he's not. And when he's not it's like a different person comes out. I once saw him squeeze a glass so hard in anger that it snapped in his hands, blood everywhere...just because somebody in his friend group jokingly corrected a word he mispronounced. His command of vocabulary is another thing he takes very seriously. I quickly learned that Nick has an 'entourage' - for lack of a better word. A group of people that are almost constantly with him. In the group are spiritualists, faith healers, psychics and the like. They are very influential, and have convinced Nick that he is 'a divine angel on this earth' in his own words. Nick revealed a very complicated relationship with his ex. She has accused him of menacing levels of stalking. I believe there is a restraining order, or at least was. He has a great deal of anger towards her that has often bubbled over in front of me just speaking about her. Regarding his daughter and the locals 'driving him out of town', from what I've heard he wasn't driven out. He ran. Things were very...worrying. He 'predicted' injuries to his daughter more than once - asking for funds and donations after these injuries - long before her eventual death. Money was a big motivator for Nick and he didn't seem to care how he got it. He was very open about asking. Thinking back, every single time we met he asked for money at some point. At times, for huge sums for something like 'film rights' (I don't work in the film or even media industry. I don't write either. I have no business owning film rights to anything). At times he'd just ask for 'a few hundred to get straight' or even 'can you pay for my dinner/beer' with no reason given. He was very forward in asking and had no shame about it. During our conversations, I found out that he'd received $4million compensation from the state of Pennsylvania. I never found out where that money went, but it was clear Nick no longer had it and he didn't seem to have anything to show for it either. That's one of many mysteries surrounding the man that I'd love an answer to. I ended the friendship with him within a few weeks. He's a very troubled individual. Ultimately, I started out sympathetic towards Nick. Now I would be genuinely scared to be in his presence. This is all tip-of-the-iceberg cliffnotes. And it's all from 4 or 5 meetings. This wasn't over the span of months or years of letting your guard down with a close friend.”
Whether or not his story is 100% factual (like some in the comments have questioned), his outlook on life and how we treat others and ourselves is very positive and worth taking into consideration into your own life.
@@inoshikachokonoyarobakayar2493 yeah, I know he does things that go against the narssisist type, but he always gets back to how great he is. Perhaps narsisism is the wrong term. After reading some of these comments, I've come to the conclusion that most of you WANT this man to be a liar and fraud. The reason why it's so unbelievable to you people that a man who has gone through so much can still be successful is because most of you are not going through a percentage of what this man has and cant even find the time to read a fucking book. @Marty Leo Do you know all rape victims? Because I can tell you from experience with people I know personally, women AND men, that you are....well... full of shit. I helped this guy in hanger lane london. He was knocked off his bike by a taxi driver. I was the only one who helped him in standstill traffic. I called the anbulance his wife or girlfriend at the time and I remeber even back then 13 years ago he was telling me to look him up on google. Hearing his american accent I thought he was a ceo of google or something. Thought I was going to get invited to their office's and everything. Then reading his story was unbelieveably sad. Turned out he lived in St Albans which is a 5 minute drive from where I live outside of london.
During yet another of his unfortunate incidents, being hit or thrown from his bike. This guy has had some of the worst luck I've ever heard of. Rogan gets about 1 million views per any descent interview, this interview to be honest WASN'T that good. However the STORY is astonishing and aside very unfortunate, I would say is a subject more common then people would imagine. That NEEDS to be heard about and which is just the very TIP of the iceberg, when comes to the crooked corruption of our broken Justice System. I hope this DOES get some people to look into this mans story and his book, an to perhaps look more into this subject as a whole.

Most ppl would have curled up into a little ball and checked out with just one of these experience's. After listening to this, several ppl on here are saying he's a liar and untrustworthy. I'm glad that's not what I took from this. He's encouraging nothing but love and ppl want to shoot him down and say he must not care about his daughter because he didn't spend enough time talking about her. I'm glad I'm not you, what an evil thing to say. I wish nothing but the best for this man and in my opinion he's earned a little bragging rights. Most of us spend time focusing on all of our flaws. And what an intelligent guy, he kept up with Joe beautifully and he's all self taught.
Thank you!! Fuck all those people saying he is being dishonest. This man faced death yet he was innocent from the very beginning. Why should this man be dishonest one more time in his life
To me it isn't that he's just a liar and shit but if you've ever been close to an addict he has a lot of those ex addict stories. He keeps telling Joe how he's going to succeed for him when they've only met once. He says my eleven dollar phone probably does and Joe said that isn't eleven dollars and he said yeah probably. Like I feel like he's so used to feeling sorry for himself he doesn't know not to, and I think his life has been tragic and I wish all the best for him, however he keeps saying he has failed and to this day forward he's not going to. It's total addiction rhetoric
As an ex addict and someone who works with addicts for 15 years as a counselor ive seen it all and heard it all. he comes across like one of these addicts that says all the right things but goes from relapse to relapse blaming everyone but himself, there is obviously a reason he's still borrowing money.
Yeah he needs a patreon for his podcast/career in speaking to be fully funded... it would get 1000+ people giving 5$ a month. Why don't all the women who love him give him a 10$ showing of it, too.. Bump it up to 5000 patrons
I emailed Nick and requested that he set up a Patreon account so we can support him. If he gets it set up I will post the link here if anyone else feels inspired to support this man in his recovery and promotion of how change is possible for anyone. You are never a victim when you choose not to be one.
Ironic how the comments section here exhibits all of the problems that Joe talks about at the 1:00:00 mark. Y'all don't have to look this guy in the eyes and can just type whatever you want with impunity...
Wow! You gave me insight to what some of our Veterans go through. Some are so misunderstood. I can better help them understand their rights, self advocate, and communicate more effectively. I particularly appreciate the last few moments where you shared your mother’s wishes for you and to give thanks. People need to be appreciated. Thank you!
It brings tears to my eyes hearing your story, Nick. Just a gesture for what its worth. Its tears for the courage you've had to turn what you've been given, into what you HAVE. So many people I've encountered in life get swept away picking up the pieces of the shroud that is the circumstances they have been given to them not by the choices they made, but by the pressures that life has shown them. Seeing grace in that you were able to do what you have, ... There are a lot of people hurting in this world. A lot of them take with them the bitterness that life has strewn around them. Dedicating your time and awareness to the betterment of yourself and those around you, is purely inspirational man. And a stern example for other souls struggling to find their place amongst all the madness in this world.
Damn, i will never complain about anything ever again. watching this really puts things into perspective.... Makes me really think about what i´m doing with my life.
This podcast changed my life for the better & being able to have conversations with Nick & his equally amazing wife Laura continues to help me in ways I can't explain. Love them both so much
I suffered from terrible childhood trauma & ran away at age 15. I ran & ran... to different countries, I ran away from my problems & I ran from relationships. One day I stopped, because life was getting exhausting & there was just no direction nor plan. I started healing myself as well. I tried therapy, but I always felt misunderstood. So I started having inner dialogs & I started writing. It helped me a lot. My anger is gone.
He spent earlier parts of his life as an intravenous drug user but then later claims that prison guards infected him with hepatitis C when they knocked out his teeth. This makes absolutely no sense. Just one of many many small discrepancies that stuck out to me.
That is completely unrealistic and you have a better chance Of being struck by lightning then this happening. Do you know how many people even transfer hepatitis C through sex? O to 3%
I’m not saying this guy didn’t go through some terrible terrible shit as I believe he did. But his personality is that of one who exaggerates and dramaticizes things to their extreme worse case scenario. EVERY situation. There’s just so many either conflicting, highly highly unlikely less than 1% chance scenarios, or downright strange things that come out of this guy. He was dealt a shit hand. But he’s playing that shit hand so hard for sympathy by exaggerating all of his life experiences to the worse most extreme scenarios to make himself seem like some kind of fallen angel. He’s “secretly a saint” as he says.
He was alone when his teeth were knocked out with the billy club at age 20 when he was pulled over. Unless that conflicts with another of the stories he told.
Yeah, like how? The Hep C virus is tough as hell and can survive on many surfaces for much longer than anything else but how would a group of guards beating him up cause infection? What a liar..
Nick "Dude I been shot, stabbed, strangled, run over by a car, hung myself In prison, 2 drug overdoses, and I had a cannibal trying to murder me for 2 solid years" Yarris
The inspiration of this man's story isn't in the tragedy, it's in the fact that after enduring all of that misfortune, he came out full of love and kindness. That is absolutely not what the prison system or his treatment were meant to produce, and he fought tirelessly to become a better person in spite of his circumstances. I think it's totally unfair to judge a man's honesty based on his words, mannerisms, and body language. Anyone else that had gone through that would be rightly angry at the world and would have little to no chance of facing a normal life. I'm so impressed by this man's self awareness, his humbleness, and his drive to do good. What a hero.
Hearing your story has made me along with countless others strive to be a better person. I don't know how to thank you. You've changed my life. Thank you Mr. Yarris.
The fact that the people who have seen kindness their whole life and end up the cruelst mfs you ever met, and yet this man who has seen what hell on earth truly is ends up being the kindest soul that we know.
This reminds me a lot of talking to my dad, who is in prison for life. I don't know what to believe, because my dad is a compulsive liar and who tells the craziest stories. I believed them as a kid, but as an adult, I had a hard time with it.
I’m not sure how it took me six years to hear this man’s story for the first time but, if you’re reading this Nick, I hope you know that you’ve flipped a switch in my brain. I hope you know that your message is an incredible one and your journey is an immensely purposeful one. The amount discipline and grit it takes to become the man you’ve become despite your experiences is inspiring. Thank you for doing this. May God continue to bless you.
Probably paranoia from the meth he was doing while "running away from the cannibal" sounds made up but most of his story sounds true. American prison is fucked.
DNA evidence cleared this guy. Science cleared him. If he had raped and killed that person, his DNA WOULD have been found. He's desperately damaged, and clearly he's done some awful things. Perhaps he's acting here about how terrible his life has been, or perhaps he's deeply disturbed by spending two decades in a brutal prison. Whatever the truth of that, I think we should rely on science rather than intuition, whatever you think of the man's personality. I feel extremely sad for him. He had the best years of his life taken away. I doubt I'd have survived that.
What a fuckin hero this guy is! The fact that this man is struggling financially and is dealing with hate just shows how poisonous and fractured society is! Keep your chin up Nick lad you carry the message of what love and complete sincerity can accomplish I an going to buy your book watch your film and follow your lead because the world needs this message!! This man has endured several horrendous actions and was addicted to drugs, what do you expect? Im amazed he is doing as well as he is. To all the folks thinking Nick is snakey:
1.) He's been severely psychologically scarred.

@@Feezwa I see your point and I'd totally be down for that, however there's another reply somewhere that the guy's a fraud or something. facts shit pissed me off the way they speak about dude
And to follow Shakespeare? He has to have something special. :o)

Literally a sociopath here crying in front of Joe for a movie deal. Y'all some fuckin dummies.
Brendan What makes you say that? Genuinely curious
My second time watching this. By far one of THE BEST shows Joe has had. A follow up would be great
Yes its really touching, world of respect for this man!

A comment from the Joe Rogan sub reddit I found VERY interesting:
“I've been pondering whether or not it was of any worth to post this.

Aleks Savic yea man been through a lot in my life. I think I know what I need to do now. Watching that inspired me more that I’ve ever been inspired. I need to be “The Dude” in my own story as Nick put it so gracefully
Danny Diggin yeah people that never hurt will never understand
Same bro I wanna meet this guy and have a Bible study with him.
Sorry my dude this guy is a fraud I talked to family that admit they did wrong that were in prison or are in prison now they told me he's a fraud the more I watched the more I see he is a fraud
Get Jordan Peterson on a podcast with this guy
His initial schtick works on people like Joe Rogan but Jordan Peterson would know straight away it would not be a good idea.
JP and Yarris only imo, Joe Rogan doesn't need to be a middle man. Plus, that conversation probably shouldn't be streamed onto the internet. I'd rather have J. Peterson mentor Nick Yarris directly.
Get Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn on a podcast with this guy.
No way someone has that much bad luck without being the cause. Even after prison everything is “oh and this horrible thing happened TO ME”
Just so it’s said I don’t like to feel bad for anyone because that takes power away from them.
I think one delusional guest is more than enough... don't need another one.
JOE ROGAN'S BRAIN GONNA BLOW UP LOL
Man this brought me to tears a couples times. The justice system is crazy man
"i've been shot, stabbed, strangled, run over by a car, hung myself in prison, two drug overdoses, and i had a cannibal try to murder me for two solid years."
.......and here i am....................bitching about student loans...........jesus christ dude
Be grateful for what you have my friend. Hope you're doing well
Fr man, maybe he got addicted to people feeling bad for him or something
This is the best podcast i've ever seen, you 2 are very inspiring human beings and I thank you for that..this made me cry and I don't cry that easy.. Take care Dudes .. Greetings from Croatia.
Nick you’re a saint. Brings tears to my eyes, and makes me realize how my petty stuff I’m going through is nothing but that, just petty. Emotional, yes, but it’s nothing important. You are amazing
Unbelievable... Honestly I feel like I stumbled on to Nick's story exactly when I was supposed to. My life is now changed on so many levels I can't even begin to explain but Nick, know that your story thanks to Joe is absolutely changing lives. Thank you and God bless you man I sincerely hope you find true meaningful happiness. Much RESPECT
Alexander Supertramp I see what you mean
Why should this man be dishonest one more time in his life
i wish more people had your way of thinking
To me it isn't that he's just a liar and shit but if you've ever been close to an addict he has a lot of those ex addict stories. He keeps telling Joe how he's going to succeed for him when they've only met once. He says my eleven dollar phone probably does and Joe said that isn't eleven dollars and he said yeah probably. Like I feel like he's so used to feeling sorry for himself he doesn't know not to, and I think his life has been tragic and I wish all the best for him, however he keeps saying he has failed and to this day forward he's not going to. It's total addiction rhetoric
Well said, he deserves a break
Couldn’t agree more. People that disagree probably live life as a victim and blame everyone else for their shitty lives
Man, this was an absolutely beautiful yet very intense podcast.
This aggression will not stand, man.
Wow man, i thought my life was rough when i ran outta coffee creamer. God bless Nick Yarris. You are awesome brother. 😎👍
Love and peace be with you Nick. 💜💛💙🧡
haaaaaaa brilliant me stomach
Dude, you ran out of Coffee Creamer? Tragedy!
My thoughts and prayers go to you Dude! I can't imagine what you have been through.
Wait a minute... was it *HAZELNUT???*
jk shouts to Nick Yarris
watching this after Joker, im flippin out
As an ex addict and someone who works with addicts for 15 years as a counselor ive seen it all and heard it all. he comes across like one of these addicts that says all the right things but goes from relapse to relapse blaming everyone but himself, there is obviously a reason he's still borrowing money.
Where is the Patreon account for Nick Yarras so I can throw down $20
Yeah he needs a patreon for his podcast/career in speaking to be fully funded... it would get 1000+ people giving 5$ a month. Why don't all the women who love him give him a 10$ showing of it, too.. Bump it up to 5000 patrons
perhaps try to contact him?
I emailed Nick and requested that he set up a Patreon account so we can support him. If he gets it set up I will post the link here if anyone else feels inspired to support this man in his recovery and promotion of how change is possible for anyone. You are never a victim when you choose not to be one.
He's had one in the past but got rid of it because he got hate for it online.
He was given $4million (£3.2million) in compensation for his wrongful imprisonment. Why does he need money???
Ironic how the comments section here exhibits all of the problems that Joe talks about at the 1:00:00 mark. Y'all don't have to look this guy in the eyes and can just type whatever you want with impunity...
Pwepawe Uwanus.
Precisely.
Fuckin pussies on the Internet bro
Lol I’d knock this dude out if he came at me he couldn’t protect himself from sexual assault
D4nk Y4nks so edgy bro
Wow! You gave me insight to what some of our Veterans go through. Some are so misunderstood. I can better help them understand their rights, self advocate, and communicate more effectively. I particularly appreciate the last few moments where you shared your mother’s wishes for you and to give thanks. People need to be appreciated. Thank you!
This Man is a life changer, you can feel his story. Thanks Joe, legends.
A friend of mine showed me this video, every time I complain about something I`ll come back to this. God bless you!
5 min ago i send that to my friend and i say him complain Now about your gf and your broken heart
This was tense but taught me allot in this short time Yall are inspiring
ABSOLUTELY
Okay, when he said he paid for singing happy birthday to himself. That shit got me good.
He also said he got beat for humming to himself, lol
Y’all are stupid
Damn, i will never complain about anything ever again. watching this really puts things into perspective.... Makes me really think about what i´m doing with my life.
Anyone still here?
😂😂
Yea im here
This podcast changed my life for the better & being able to have conversations with Nick & his equally amazing wife Laura continues to help me in ways I can't explain. Love them both so much
I first watched Nick on True Geordies podcast and since then I’ve been fascinated
Bro, this dude makes complete sense literally all the way through
It's called "Articulate"
first 30min were one of the most intense things I have ever watched. awesome interview! thank you!
Waiting for Joe to recommend DMT therapy....
Dude needs it.
I was thinking Stammetts therapy for the stuttering.
For him, I don’t think so. He would probably see demons
Lmaooooo
and yoga
This mans story makes me cry. This mans is beautiful
Hey why dont you 2 get a room
@Chris Schumaker you’re literally fucking five years old
He spent earlier parts of his life as an intravenous drug user but then later claims that prison guards infected him with hepatitis C when they knocked out his teeth.
He got hep when the brothers took his little Junie Cakes you guys.
Yeah, like how? The Hep C virus is tough as hell and can survive on many surfaces for much longer than anything else but how would a group of guards beating him up cause infection? What a liar..
"Im harder than life, kinder than love" That is such an amazing saying, you are really a saint
Nick "Dude I been shot, stabbed, strangled, run over by a car, hung myself In prison, 2 drug overdoses, and I had a cannibal trying to murder me for 2 solid years" Yarris
Rogers Stones Fuck you
That part made me scream laugh
I m fucking doooneeee lmao
🤜 my brother
@@AjCxOfficial FUCK You sensitive bitch
9:26 he pulled a girl in prison sitting in death row and I can’t even get a first date
You need to start approaching women fearlessly. Tell them how much you admire their, their smile, their smell. Be focused. Follow them home.
maybe he can ask to if he can smell their feet too. anybody?
Yeah, then after stalking them you can end up in prison too, wohoo
Step 1. Change thumbnail
Everyone knows women are naturally attracted to violent criminals. The fact that he was actually innocent is irrelevant.
Remy damn straight
Hearing your story has made me along with countless others strive to be a better person. I don't know how to thank you. You've changed my life. Thank you Mr. Yarris.
I wonder if Joe will discuss the benefits of a daily exercise routine?
Just smoke weed bro
I waiting for the story of Joe's chicken eaten by a cayote.
and yoga and mushrooms
I find it fascinating people waste their time making comments that are masked as funny but are actually just super negative.
he sent him home with a years supply of onnit
When they say someone's got it worse they're talking about this guy.
You don’t realize how long 24 years is until you realize it’s over 8,000 days.
Lol that makes it seem less some how
Johan Giggleburg it seems less
Your making it seem less, try 300+ months
thats a little over 1/4 of your life
The fact that the people who have seen kindness their whole life and end up the cruelst mfs you ever met, and yet this man who has seen what hell on earth truly is ends up being the kindest soul that we know.
And I thought 2020 was bad this just blows everything that has happened in 2020 out of the water
This reminds me a lot of talking to my dad, who is in prison for life. I don't know what to believe, because my dad is a compulsive liar and who tells the craziest stories. I believed them as a kid, but as an adult, I had a hard time with it.
Jesus Christ what a tear jerker
I’m not sure how it took me six years to hear this man’s story for the first time but, if you’re reading this Nick, I hope you know that you’ve flipped a switch in my brain. I hope you know that your message is an incredible one and your journey is an immensely purposeful one. The amount discipline and grit it takes to become the man you’ve become despite your experiences is inspiring. Thank you for doing this. May God continue to bless you.
People in here questioning this guys story but believing every wordthat comes out of the mouth of Joey "The Jiver" Diaz. Lmaooo
Because a lot of other people in the industry were there for a lot of Joeys stories. HERP DERP DEE DERPTY DOO
Honestly, that's a pretty good point lol
But Joey is a comedian. We expect him to bend the stories to be funny. This guy is supposed to be dead serious.
I know one thing for sure about Joey. He's an adult who eats boogers.
How bout dont believe either 100%?
Nick: I spend 22 years on death row, getting tortured every Day.
Rogan: My parents worked All the time.
Joes input on community speaks volume not only about the subject but of the brilliance of this modern day underground philosopher.
did i miss the, in detail discussion about him being hunted by a cannibal for 2 years or did he just gloss over that SUBTLE time in his life??
the cannibal was probably another prisoner when he was in jail
Probably paranoia from the meth he was doing while "running away from the cannibal" sounds made up but most of his story sounds true. American prison is fucked.
Jordie Jordan you are what you eat
pep inyostep gay to ask that
Jordie Jordan - true American hero
DNA evidence cleared this guy. Science cleared him. If he had raped and killed that person, his DNA WOULD have been found. He's desperately damaged, and clearly he's done some awful things. Perhaps he's acting here about how terrible his life has been, or perhaps he's deeply disturbed by spending two decades in a brutal prison. Whatever the truth of that, I think we should rely on science rather than intuition, whatever you think of the man's personality. I feel extremely sad for him. He had the best years of his life taken away. I doubt I'd have survived that.
Very fair perception
Volta Vespertine well said friend. I am sad for this man.
This is about children, but it applies to adults as well. ua-cam.com/video/51IciCvDgBo/v-deo.html
DNA testing is actually really new. Back in the day the best they could do is test blood type
He didn't have his best years taken from him; he had his worst years forced unto him.
Seems like his best days are just around the bend.
This guy is like the opposite of Forest Gump.
Shea I was gonna say the same thing. Low intellect but with criminal character and bad luck
This made me literally laugh out loud.
true
He had a family member survive every major war?
I reckon so, I reckon so.
Much love man!
When joe don't talk you know we have a good one!
Joe: "There's some tissue there if you want it"
Nick: "I'm good man I'm done with all that crying"
Joe: .... o_o
Look, I don't doubt the terrible experiences he's had, but past the 25 min mark some shit starts to feel really off.
Also, I love Joe's ability to let the iffy statements slide away and not grill him about it. Great job Joe!
past the 25 min mark? im at 8 minutes and have started to feel so weird about what he's saying already that i had to turn this off and come back to it twice... and im still only at 8 minutes.. i hate when i know someone is trying to manipulate people by playing on their emotions and are possibly so deluded that they don't even realize it their selves anymore. or are so psychotic that they do and that they give off the impression that they don't realize it. either way. thats just how i feel about this podcast and what he says here..
You helped me Nick. All I can say is thank you. I have my own struggles, as everyone does. There is light in your eyes. Amazing grace never happens when you expect it,
This was intense... and necessary to hear today. Thank you for sharing, Nick. God damn.
Joe just got a text from this guy: "Hey wanna hang out? Red Lobster?"
Lmfao happy Gilmore reference. I like it
Guess who’s paying.....
Lol!
We going to Red Lobster©️ getting our drink on! Biscuits!

I'm sorry you were homeless and had to suck off random men to survive. God bless you.
Jesus, this is the hardest JRE podcast to watch by far. What an absolute warrior. What an incredible person. Nothing but happiness and fulfillment from this day forward for you and yours, Mr Yarris. Nothing but happiness.
