Thank you guys so much. This was a really special video. I know I have a few emails, but that was me, Jono. Thank you for pulling clips from my ruffcountrycabin YT. I was not expecting that. You made me and my wife cry a little. It was really amazing to see. We love you guys. DRC is the best!
Prices on new Jeeps are just stooopid. A 2 door sport for $42k is insane, you could get a Rubicon for less than that not too long ago. Get a used Jeep and pour that money into it and it will be better than anything you can by new.
My dad bought a WWII surplus Jeep when I was 12 years old. No key, just a starter button. No doors, canvas top. Best thing ever. Have never forgotten how much I loved it. I’m buying a 2024 two door next week. Can’t wait!
As a recent empty nester I picked up a 2024 2 door wrangler and man it's so worth it. Brings back memories. Me, the wife, and the dog driving around in the woods with the doors off and the top down is the best! Your video is spot on, keep it up!
I bought a 22 Willy's new when my kiddos left the nest. I absolutely love it. It's probably my last vehicle I will own. It's so much fun, and my grand dog loves to go for open air rides.
4dr jeep wranglers still just look wrong for me, if your gonna go 4 door get a wagon or a power wagon, that’s what I did, 2017 ram 2500 Laramie with the powerwagon option and 2019 2dr rubicon manual and 68 charger in current restoration all my dream vehicles
Agreed. To me the 2 door is “JEEP”. The 4 door is a “soccer mom SUV.” LOL. 😂😅😂 Decided I didn’t need my 4dr F150 anymore, so, I got rid of it and got me a 2024 Jeep dr hardtop. Had a ‘74 when I was 19…. This brings back memories.
I’m 61 years old and I’ve been looking at two-door jeeps since I was 16. Your video has prompted me to make that jeep in my garage a reality! Thank you for the motivation and information in this video.
The 2 door! I have owned six 2-door Jeeps. From oldest to youngest, '69 CJ5 (our snow plow), '79 CJ7 (our mud truck), '87 YJ, '07 JK X, '18 JK Rubicon and our newest a '24 JL Willys. For the family over the years, we had other people and animal haulers but ask the kids what they wanted to go to an event, camp, day outing or whatever and it was always 'the Jeep'. I'm in my 60's and I will always and only own a 2 door!
I always dreamed of a two door wrangler, about 6 months ago I got a beautiful firecracker red one! I’ve had so much fun driving and everyone in the family always wants to ride in it. Hands down best vehicle I’ve owned
I grew up riding my dad's Willys M38A1 so I bought him a 2023 Willys Sport, everything manual, for his 80th birthday. Great memories were and are being made!
I know I am a bit young to mention this but I am 22 and when I was in high school in 2017 I got a 1998 White TJ. That was the best vehicle I have ever owned, it had the sad 2.5L. However, I did not care about the lack of engine power, the age of the vehicle, no AC, not being able to shift into second, the scars it gathered from its previous owners. What mattered to me and made the most core nostalgic memories was just enjoying its simplicity of it being a 2 door with half doors, cruising down a backroad with a sunset blasting your favorite music just hits the heart even during the heat of summer. Sadly I had to sell it to get a more "reliable" vehicle for college. Now that I am out of college, I am teaming up with your affiliate program to get a 2 door white JLR with the half doors. Hoping to experience what I used to, it was a great feeling and made everyday a good day.
I just bought a 2024 2 door a few months ago and love my decision. It has so many perks that you don’t get in a 4 door. I’d advise anyone to get whichever accommodates their lifestyle the best.
Love my 2 door Wrangler! Searched around until I found a 07' JK with 70K miles on it and a 3" lift sitting on 35's. Didn't care for the new JL design, I wanted a pre-2011 JK for its ruggedness and I love that still resembles the TJ except a little grown up. Love the power and the way it drives!
You absolutely nailed it with everything you said. My parents owned an ‘82 CJ that I drove in high school. Then they bought, brand new, a first production year Sahara in ‘89. I then bought a 98, ‘00, ‘02 and sold it when I started a career in insurance that involved driving $100k a year. Left the job and bought a ‘17 4 door and hated it. Traded it in on a ‘21 2 door and I’m finally back home. It feels right. I’m 52 and you absolutely nailed it.
We bought a brand new Jeep Willys (we say it like Bruce “Willis”) in 2022 at age 60. We love it and I use a step stool for my 90 year old mother to go for rides with the top down. My little basenji dog named Scarlett O’Hara rides around in it, and she loves it. Between the Jeep and my Triumph motorcycle summers are a complete joy in Chicago.
I have a 2004 TJ and absolutely love it!! If I get a new Jeep I will go for another 2 door. As a kid I rode in the back of my uncle’s CJ, no doors or top. The nostalgia does it for me 👊🏽😉
I have a 2021 2 door JL. Love it. About lifestyle. I am a dad and when I pick up my son from elementary school he climbs up the tire and hops in the cab. In a 4 door he would just get in through a door. But the memories he will have...
Perfect video! I'm picking up my 2024 Wrangler today! As basic and as "Classic" as it gets! 2dr, manual transmission, V6 ,red with black soft top. No power windows, no power locks, no power mirrors. I'm very nervous due to 2 things, It's a lot of money for a guy like me and the reviews I've read are so different, ranging from awesome to unreliably junk! I'm turning 43 exactly in a month, so this will be my birthday gift!
I really enjoyed this video! Ordered a new 2024 Willys Manual and have decided to go base Sport and automatic instead of waiting that other order to fulfill. Jeeps bring back fond memories for me and it’s the only vehicle I’ve ever truly enjoyed driving. I reflect a lot on my time as a kid, hanging my feet out of the door, watching my dad always work on YJs and TJs in our driveway & can never forget my first job ever: holding the flash light.
"Most the people I know that are buying this as a 30, 40, 50, even 60yo person, they're utilizing this as something that brings them back and connects to their youth spirit" is the NICEST way of commenting on a guy's midlife crisis that I've ever heard. I'm going to have to remember that-- "NO, I'M NOT HAVING A MIDLIFE CRISIS! I'm bringing myself back and connecting to my youth spirit." 🤣
I’m 42 and I’ve always wanted one. I just want to cruise around the neighborhood and the puget sound in the summer with the top down and doors off. I’m super frugal and usually go with the cheap commuter cars, but I think you have have just convinced me to finally bite the bullet.
Great video. I've had 4 two doors. 4:07 For safety, it's a good idea to keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle. My uncle broke his arm when his tipped over.
Funny you mentioned an 87 Wranger, I got my 1st jeep in 87 and was the YJ Laredo, lot's of chrome. Loved it. Just ordered a 2023 2door Sport S basically loaded. Great vids from "The Cred"!
REALLY GREAT POINTS!!! I'm a 52 year old YJ guy who's owned mine for 26 years. I also have a built JLUR and recently did a 98TJ for my dad (as seen on my channel jeepNdirt) and the views on that simple little video have been crazy. People (we) love our 2 doors and it's nice to be a part of that. I have a YJ build / overview of mine coming up soon and can't wait to share. You're absolutely right about the 4 doors. We demanded more space, wheel base, and other goodies to accommodate all the things that we do now a days and I too admit that I love my built JLUR on 38's for many reasons but specifically the daily drivability and the ability to simply turn off the road and just go. Some places a two door is better but some places a 4 door (wheelbase) is better. Either way, for me having both is a blessing and I too wish to share that experience and encourage folks to just go out there and enjoy them. Good stuff man. I just missed you at the jeep invasion. I'm still working on my little video of that event but I love the pics you shared in this one. I too enjoyed those same 2 doors.
I like the 2 door jeeps, I had 2 Wrangler in the early 90s (a 4 liter v-6 and a 4 cylinder), I just went and bought a 2014 JK Polar edition 2-door, love it so far.
I learned how to drive on a CJ2a, had a ‘97 and now have my 2-door ‘21 Willys model. It is my toad for my RV and my daily driver. So my love for Jeeps has been a long one.
Ordered my 24’ 2 door manual JL Sport S. I couldn’t find the manual with the options I wanted in a 500 mile radius outside of central Illinois. Dealer said 10-12 weeks. That was 11/24/23. Update email sent on 12/23/23 was Jeep built, a scheduled delivery date of 1/2/24. Can’t wait.
My first vehicle at age 14 was a 1946 CJ2a, with the Willys "Go Devil" inline 4. My friends and I took that thing everywhere! It would do about 50 MPH downhill with a good tail wind... Fond memories for sure. Today, 53 years later, I have a 2021 JL Rubicon in my garage! Every time I drive it think of the '46 CJ. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the 2 doors.
I drive a 2 door rubicon. It’s a 2015 and I truly love it. Turned on a dime. Gets around a parking lot with ease. I’m an empty nester so I really don’t need anything bigger.
Love this video your videos why i chose my 2 door HVJL. And youre right you learn alot about yourself with em or in my case reconnecting with yourself. Appreciate your channel!
Great vlog! I started my jeep love in a V8 CJ5. Really miss that one! I would say I really love my JT though. I will have another CJ5 one of these days.
We just picked up a 2020 lease return Black on black rag top two door rubicon recon… 15,600 miles… loving it!!! In the early 70s my first was a 72 rag top three speed 304 V8…then a 74 with a v8… then 76 Renegade straight 6… then another 76 Renegade v8… then a 75 with v8… loved them all… now at 71 years old I’m cycling back to the good old day… two doors baby!! Love your channel dude! Keep on keeping on!
Bought a 2016 Jeep Wrangler 2dr Sahara Edition, Granite Crystal Metallic soft top in 2021. I owned pick up trucks for years. I had my last truck for 15 yrs.It was still in very good condition and only 118,000 miles.I guess I wanted something different. I installed a 3in. Iift and 33's on custom wheels and aftermarket front bumper. I like it alot and get many comments on how it looks just right, or a few ladies have even said how cute it is. I plan on keeping it for a long time. Can't make a bad decision on a 2dr any model.
I bought an all manual 2015 2 door sport soft top as new. I was determined to figure out how to sleep inside comfortably, I'm 6-2. I built a storage platform thats the same height as the passenger seat when folded flat. Not inclined.. totally flat. With a 6-4 bed and plenty of headroom, it's now a fantastic 4wd micro stealth sleeper. Very cool. 👍👍
Awesome video!! I love my new (to me) 2021 JL 2 door. Its my first Jeep and it is just incredible. I just got it about 2 months ago. I cant wait for this Pa winter to see how she does in the snow.
I bought a 2 door sarge green back in 2008 after leaving the service and traded it once my son was born; I truly miss it to this day. Great advice , thanks for sharing Sir.
My father had a CJ 2A and a Renegade in the 70s I own a JK 2009 and its 2024 been durable as all heck and still looks good. I think ill stay with a 2 door if i decide on 4 door ill try a gladiator. But Manual always love they still make manual trans !! Still get connected on and off road with a manual.
I had a 2 door 2018 Sport Wrangler and I loved it. I could go anywhere in it and felt really secure in the snow. It was a lot of fun to drive too. We had to many cars at the time & my husband sold it back to the dealer in 21 for 33,000 a thousand less the we paid for it. So mine held its value. I hope to get another someday soon.
Bought in 1999 a Jeep Cherokee Sport, for the next 25 years it was our day-to-day car. Then in 2014 we added a 2001 Jeep TJ to the mix, same 4L inline engine, same everything :). And swapped last summer (after 25 years !!) the Cherokee for a Subaru Crosstrek. But the Jeep TJ will remain our summer "fun car". Yes, it's yellow :) ....
My solution was to have my 2 door rubicon as the summer exploration toy and when I need 4 doors I have the gladiator. Now I’m just waiting on the Jeep recon and hopefully have a trifecta on Jeeps.
I found a "used" 2018 2dr JL Sports S, soft top, manual, back in Dec 2019 that had only 6800 miles on it and paid like $22k for it, was like new. This is my 2nd Wrangler after having to sell my old TJ years ago.... the JL is still all stock for the most part, but finally ready for a tire and wheel upgrade, I only put 32k miles on it in 5yrs so had to get my $ worth out of those Duelers it came with lol! Everyday drive, not much off roading so going up just a bit to 33s on 17x9 -6..... as my nephew says "only the 2dr stick is the real wrangler" lol
This video made me miss my red soft top 2 door jk sport. Me and the wife were in a 1 bedroom apartment before our kids and life was so much simpler. Now with a family of 4. The 23 JLU Rubi is way more practical and comfortable for kids.
Yep bought my 2021 2door Willys Jeep new at age 59. I use it a little because I am saving for it retirement and waiting for the hopefully soon manual transmission recall.
I like the color on that 2 door. Similar to the Sting Grey on mine. I looks good with the steel wheels but perhaps a mild lift and RWL all terrain tires would make it sharp. Currently on my 3rd Wrangler at age 65 and 6th Jeep overall.
I bought a brand new Suzuki Samurai back in the day and loved it. Bought another last year and recently had to sell it. Memories! I've owned YJs, TJs JKUs and now a JLU. I am keeping my eye on a good YJ (they are so "simple) but I would settle on an early TJ in a flash.
Now retired and owed 2 previous LJ Rubicons that I foolishly sold. Back in the market and considering my next Wrangler. I see a couple of 2 door Rubicons in my search. Got me thinking Hmmm, never thought about a 2 door. My biggest concern is freeway ride quality, as I want to drive it to Jeep gatherings rather than trailering it.
Being realistic.. This is why I like a two door ? I go off road alot .. Try following me through the woods with a four door, Where there's no roads or small trails. Done been there .. Did that. Going in tight spots means alot. But , going across desert or open country I like the four door, if there's alot of gas ⛽️ stations around ? 😅
Great video and I think you nailed it. I am 62-yrs old this is my first 2023 2-dr jeep, 2.0 turbo is a kickker brand new, almost all groups except the safety, tow, not lifted. Although I could not afford a Rubicon I have to work my way up the ladder, 2026 I hope to get a used (2025 4-dr). I was kinda sad that I did not get a 4-door, I made the right choice, short wheel base. Thanks.
I work in San Francisco. I see quite a few 2dr Wranglers. Mainly for parking convience. But away from SF, the 4dr rules. My first Jeep was a '63 Willy's Wagoneer, back in '82. The Next Jeep is a '96 ZJ, back in '15. My latest Jeep is a '23 JLU. I am really surprised how short the JLU is. Not as small as the ZJ, but smaller than my Durango. And tiny compared to our diesel Ram 4dr 4wd pickups.
One thing you left out...And it's a very small market...But as an RV'er, it's the shortest vehicle you can flat tow behind a motor coach... With just my wife and I it is an option we are considering...Better maneuverability and easier to park is a big deal to us...Just have to get used to the comfort of the ride versus the 4 door...Appreciate your channel...
I'm a family man of 5 kids and a wife and we have a family car wife has her car and have a daily for son and have decided in 2 weeks will have first jeep 2017 2 door jeep wrangler v6 and super exited just for dad
Coming from a 2 door, I and my lifestyle just needed a 4 door and is much better than a 2 door. But to each their own, I don’t hate on the 2 door Jeeps.
I bought my 1st Wrangler in 2009, a stock JKUx with 3.8 V6 6 speed , with soft top,the only options were a tow package, carpeted floor mats & 6 speaker sound system with sub woofer. $17,600.00 worth of mods later, I still have it and would never get rid of it for 2dr. But in 2019, I bought my wife a Bikini Pearl Blue JL 2dr Sport with all the options. Both have there places, for everything our JL 2dr can do better than our JKU, there our things our JKU can do better. It's just a matter of what you want to do.
Hey love the video.. I’ve been a fan of the 2door for a long time.. I’m happy to see this video because this year I’m get my 2 door jeep.. I was debating on 2019 or 2020
I can’t decide if I should sell my 2000 tj and get a 2024 but it feels like every other month I’m breaking down and putting money into it I’m also emotionally attached to it decision decisions
Most off-road bucks that buy these wranglers end up reinforcing not counting the rattles under the chassis and the rattles on the roof and the road noise what's the rattles require work
Nice Video. Yeah I like the 2 Door Jeep Wranglers. I test drove a 2024 model yesterday, It was an Automatic, I was hoping it was going to be a Manual Transmission.
We honestly just got back from looking at 2 doors, we have a 2020 JLU that my wife uses as a daily but I use it to play on the weekends. To say the least she’s not happy when I get back from the trails and there’s scratches on it and she doesn’t believe me when I say they’ll buff out. 😂😂😂 So now we are in the market for a 2 door that she can call and build as hers. I just found it funny that y’all’s new video is about the 2 doors and by the way we will be logging on to check out y’all’s Jeep place because the prices here in Memphis are crazy. As always great video
Never owned a jeep but really want a solid tj with tasteful mods for a daily driver. 58, live in Montana and sounds like fun all weather rig for not too much $$
The tj has a frame rust problem 😢. I love them. A couple of my friends have them and I have been helping them out with the frame weld on kits 👌. Gotta keep tj's on the road and trail.
Same here went to school in V8 CJ 5 and mountains of North Carolina as kid or every were heck old man took off into pine thicket full speed what a memory me screaming 😂 not knowing what on other side 😂😂😂😂
I want a two door to use as a tow vehicle on the back of the rv but I have a family of 5 are there any two door seat configurations that can fit 3 in the back?
Thank you guys so much. This was a really special video. I know I have a few emails, but that was me, Jono. Thank you for pulling clips from my ruffcountrycabin YT. I was not expecting that. You made me and my wife cry a little. It was really amazing to see. We love you guys. DRC is the best!

Trade it for two door. Just make it work lol
2 door all the way baby!!!
You're pregnant

Same here! Then lifted 35 MT's sreal bumpers wench, side bar steps , lights! It's alsome!

I just bought a 2024 2 door a few months ago and love my decision. It has so many perks that you don’t get in a 4 door. I’d advise anyone to get whichever accommodates their lifestyle the best.
Enjoy the new 2 door!
Two door JL on a nice lift and beefy tires looks soooo sweet
Love the stance and beefy look they have.
Love the nimble ride of my TJ on trails.
Agreed!

I just got a 2024 Wrangler Sport JL 2 door and I love it.

I've had my 23 2-door willys for about three months now. After wrenching on it (making it my own), I absolutely love it.
Love that!
My first jeep and only jeep I owned was a 1981 Jeep scrambler and I miss it to this day.

Purchased a 2023 2 Door Willys Sport this year. Have absolutely loved it.
2 door is the perfect vehicle for this 65 yoa to pull behind a Class C RV. Improves the fun on our vacations.

Great story to end things with guys, as a 2dr Punk’n JL driver, I did come back home from the 4dr JL. Couldn’t be happier! Awesome video!

I had 73 cj 7 but I sold it I wish I had not. But now I have a 2020 jeep wrangler 2 door jl in punk'n orange and I love it

Awesome! Send us some photos and clips from the video. We will share it and send people to check out your full video.
@@DIRTROADCRED Thanks. I will.
Started off with a 97 tj which I still have and now have a 23 2 door jl and I love both
Awesome!
I like 2 and 4 doors, but I just love the 2 door so much. I’ve only had one wrangler and it’s my 2000 TJ, and I just love the look.
Totally with you!
I just Retired and I would love to get my 77. CJ5 Renegade back and fix it up. But it's not in the budget.
Maybe one day!
Love this video your videos why i chose my 2 door HVJL. And youre right you learn alot about yourself with em or in my case reconnecting with yourself. Appreciate your channel!
Thanks for the support!
Great vlog! I started my jeep love in a V8 CJ5. Really miss that one! I would say I really love my JT though. I will have another CJ5 one of these days.
CJ5 and a JT would be a solid combo!
Bought a JK in '08. When it came time to order my bronco went 4 door. Got both; one is a toy the other is a useful daily driver.
Love my 22 JLR! Thanks for giving the 2 door some ❤!
I bet! You jeep is great.
Ordered a 2024 2 Door Jeep Willy's in April, received it in September. Worth it. Came from owning a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. It's just fun man.
Enjoy the new 2024!
2doors ! Got rid of my two 4door jeeps .no more mini vans . Had two 2door jeeps after that. Love the 2door and original ones
Very cool. 👍👍
What the hell
Awesome video!! I love my new (to me) 2021 JL 2 door. Its my first Jeep and it is just incredible. I just got it about 2 months ago. I cant wait for this Pa winter to see how she does in the snow.
Very nice! Enjoy your new Jeep
I bought a 2 door sarge green back in 2008 after leaving the service and traded it once my son was born; I truly miss it to this day. Great advice , thanks for sharing Sir.
Right on! Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing!
That is the way!
Exactly! Totally get it
nice video........ I'm sold getting a 2024 Willys white 2 door
Yep bought my 2021 2door Willys Jeep new at age 59. I use it a little because I am saving for it retirement and waiting for the hopefully soon manual transmission recall.
Good on you!
I bought a 2019 Rubicon 2 door last fall.
I love it and I wish I had bought a jeep years ago.
( I'm 59 )
Love to hear that!
If you don’t have a family or need the extra space the two door is perfect. We love our two door Wrangler Sport. Nice video. Thanks.
Good point!
Had an ‘84 CJ7, and miss it still, but now in a 2dr 2020…and love it! 2dr all the way.
Right on!
LOVED my 2 door Wrangler, but i like to carry a lot of stuff, so i ended up getting a 4 door, wish i could have both.
I like the color on that 2 door. Similar to the Sting Grey on mine. I looks good with the steel wheels but perhaps a mild lift and RWL all terrain tires would make it sharp. Currently on my 3rd Wrangler at age 65 and 6th Jeep overall.
We love the Anvil color! We have some cool stuff planned for it.
I would love to have a 2dr. But the 4dr was necessary at the time. Now that it's paid off my next will 100% be a tj
Just got our 1st Jeep 2018 two door at age 57
I bought a brand new Suzuki Samurai back in the day and loved it. Bought another last year and recently had to sell it. Memories!
I've owned YJs, TJs JKUs and now a JLU. I am keeping my eye on a good YJ (they are so "simple) but I would settle on an early TJ in a flash.
Would settle on the TJ as well!
Love the two door- Ryan you got a cool vehicle.
Thanks!
Thanks.
Awesome! Glad you’re in a 2dr
How should we pronounce "Willys"
Willis or Willies
Willies.
Will eeees Lol
Will Ease
"Wee Less", like "Phyllis.."
Wet willies!!
Great points! Thanks for watching
Ford made Jeep’s for the military during the WWII, I had one till I wrecked it. I have a 2004 LJ now had it for awhile now.
I'm a family man of 5 kids and a wife and we have a family car wife has her car and have a daily for son and have decided in 2 weeks will have first jeep 2017 2 door jeep wrangler v6 and super exited just for dad
I love my 2010 JK 2 Door. You keep talking about 4 door Jeeps....I didn't know there is a 4 door Jeep ;)
Ordered my 2024 jeep wrangler 2 door sarge green jl sport s july 29th,went to scheduled for assembly on Friday September 15 😢,now the wait begins.
Excited for you!
@@DIRTROADCRED Thanks..could you by chance give a call and see if they could get that assembly line rolling again.
Please have another update video on 2 door wrangler. love yah!
Coming from a 2 door, I and my lifestyle just needed a 4 door and is much better than a 2 door. But to each their own, I don’t hate on the 2 door Jeeps.
Respect that!
Exactly! Thanks for sharing
Aloha Matt. I didn't know that for the advantages on a two-door Jeep Wrangler vs the 4-door. Great job on the assessments and analysis for this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video Matt!
2 door is the only jeep
Q: can the headunit screen from the 2024 can be installed onto the 2018 and up JLs?
We still need to test it!
I just bought a 2018 2 door. And honestly, it was not an easy find. I also wanted a manual transmission which might have been why I had some trouble.
Good stuff!
One more. I just think the proportions on the 2-door look better, especially with the top off, and even more so with the doors off.
Can agree with you there!
Ordered my 2 door in July and it's built but sitting there cuz of the strike. If I ordered a week sooner I'd have it.
Hope stuff gets resolved soon!
As always great video
haha! Just a few scratches and dents. Thanks for watching Rick!
Never owned a jeep but really want a solid tj with tasteful mods for a daily driver. 58, live in Montana and sounds like fun all weather rig for not too much $$
TJ is a great choice!
Keep the 2 door strong jeep it's amazing truck
The tj has a frame rust problem 😢. I love them. A couple of my friends have them and I have been helping them out with the frame weld on kits 👌. Gotta keep tj's on the road and trail.
Love the TJ!
