This is one of the best Accord 6th DIY vids I've ever seen. I'm dying to do this but needed to see someone do it first. Thanks! I'll give this a try in a few weeks and watch your video over and over again while I do it!
I got my 6th gen accord coupe 5 months ago and your videos are super helpful with helping me fix it up and do some fun projects with it. Thank you so much.
Igor, thank you for making this video. I have 2 6-Gen Accords, and I've been wanting to upgrade my headlights exactly like you've done. I've searched EBay & Amazon for this particular set up. Thank you... Thank you and again, thank you...
+Markus Hunter Hi Makrus! Thanks for feedback. I am glad i was able to help. I really enjoy these lights, I've had them for 25-30K miles now and they are just great. The beam is really wide too.
Michael, No you don't have to disassemble anything if the lamp goes bad. The projector back end is poking out of the standard reflector. You will need to unsnap the wire that locks the lamp inside and replace the lamp.
One question, what are the inner lights for now? The ones that were originally high beams. Since the projectors are hi/lo beams now. Basically im asking what are you using the factory high beam reflector for? Is it just not connected at all?
I've never been impressed enough with a youtube video to comment on one, till now. Nice work! Sylvania SilverStar, SilverStar Ulrra, and zXe's are the way I have evolved, and I am a fanatic at proper aim on headlights. Maybe use the cavity previously occupied by the 9005's for DRL's ?
Thank you sir, i am glad you liked the video! :) There is some space for imagination there. I would say DRLs would fit quite nicely underneath the main reflector where the yellow strip is. And that yellow strip is detachable. I thought of adding "angel eyes" as well, but it would be another 60 bucks, so I decided to leave the idea :) Good luck with your modifications!
Thanks. Yep, it's not that hard, only time consuming, took me 12 hours or so. Also, after the first rain i've noticed that mosture gets inside, i had to open the vents on the back of the bulbs and reseal them with silicone sealant. Yep i used 6000k. But i would recommend using 5000k. I used both type of lamps before and i feel like 6000K are harder to read and there was a research about that.
Hi, they were really good, didn't notice any wobbling or anything like that. I've had them for about 20000 miles. After that i sold that set. The only problem was that it was scratching the surface of the headlight from inside, but it was not that noticeable. I can make another set if needed, you can shoot me an email igor@kadulenkov.com
looks great. I'll be doing this on my accord. do you have any updates? how are they holding up especially in this Illinois weather. and will the generic projectors work on a 4th Gen altima?
Thanks. Still using them with no issues. Almost for a year now. I did 2 trips from chicago to NYC and DC and i really enjoyed the lights. As i mentioned here, i had to seal them with silicon sealant later on, so i would recommend on getting the butyl rubber glue instead, just in case you would need to disassemble them again later. I am not sure if that's related to the fact that the shroud is touching the glass a bit. It looked like i was able to lock the headlights completely. The other thing that i didn't like is i had to readjust the beam angle after i assembled the headlights. So i had to unscrew the mounting washer. And it's impossible to screw it back on, cause the projector will keep spinning. So my projectors are not bolted super tight at the moment. But it doesn't seem to cause any issues. Also the horizontal adjustment bolts didn't work on both headlights for some reason. Other than that these are great projectors. The beam is wide and uniform. If you drive on a highway it will brighten all 6 lines. But because of that the high beam is not that intense and concentrated in the center. But i would say it's still pretty good if your headlights are clean. Good luck with your project!
Nice work. I was wondering do you connect the positive and negative wire from the projector to the original high beam harness? So when you turn on the high beam. It turn on the original and projector high beam?
arai Hi, thanks! Yep it was a GoPro Hero 2. For headlights - I don't think they were original, it was just $70 for two. Original headlights would cost about 300 for two or so.
+Marlyn Jean These are generic Morimoto Mini H1. DIMENSIONS Max Depth:139mm (includes bulb holder) Max Width:88mm Max Height:73mm Lens Diameter:2.5" Mounting Shaft: Diameter = 20mm Housing Depth:Minimum = 115mm
Hey, thanks and good luck :) Well, i just use the adjustment screws on the back of the headlights. You can use 10mm wrench for that. I have to tell that i also had to unscrew the projector enough to be able to turn it a bit by applying small pliers to the end of the projector. That's because i had to readjust the angle after installing them.
I just have a few quick questions. You connected the solenoid using the 9005/9006 HB4 connected to the high beam but what did you connect the high beams too? Also how did you connect H1 bulbs when the Accord doesn't use H1 bulbs?
+MrChris2Fur Hi. Sorry for late response. Let me try to remember. I've had a complete kit: bulbs, ballasts and harness with relay. I've connected power input on relay to the battery +, power output + went into the ballast. -- on balast was connected to the frame. Then i just connected bulb to the ballast, using provided connectors. Then i took 9005/9006, connected it to LOW beam and the other end went to relay control input. And then i took other 2 x 9005/9006 connectors and connected solenoids to high beam.
jbads1989 Hi, good question. There are two adjustment bolts - one of them is for horizontal adjustment, but in my case it didn't work for some reason. I thought maybe the plastic on the thread was not really good. But i didn't really care much, cause the beam is really wide, it covers all 4-5 lanes on highways. Good luck!
So does this cure the absolute shite lighting produced by the OEM headlights of this car? Just got a 98 Accord, and I'm utterly appalled at how crappy the headlights are.
Thx. I did align them vertically. Horizontally they couldn't move for some reason. But they were straight horizontally and these projectors have pretty wide beam, so it's all good
Can you please make a video on how to do the wiring process. I don't have a clue of how to do it. I've bought the complete kit and can't do anything with it.
Hm, that would be hard to do, as i have everything installed already. What are your difficulties? Basically, you connect the main headlight lamp connector to the supplied relay control wires. Then you connect relay source wires to the battery. Then connect relay output to the new HID lamps. Then you need to connect the high beam wires to the servos inside the projectors by using the additional 9005 connectors.
hey Jesus, you mean hi-beam (servo) wires? You need to connect them to wires that go to your hi-beam bulb. I used 2x 9006/9005 HB4 male connectors they're like 5 bucks on ebay. Try searching for "9006/9005 HB4 male connector". Then i connected red wire from projector to red wire on connector, and then black to black. And that's it, just plug them in instead hi-beam bulb. Check 29:21 , you can see the wire with 9006/9005 connector already attached and then i am plugging it to hi-beam cable.
Nice vid. But have fun peeling the plasti dip off. On the first coat your basically supposed to just do a dusting (I've been peeling plastidip from the po of my 02 for 3 days now 🙃)
+Nick Givens It was a brand new aftermarket headlight, that was matching stock headlight dimensions and parameters. I paid around 70$ for a set of two.
Are these OEM or aftermarket headlights? Cause I'm using an aftermarket headlight. I shaved the front into an angle just so that I can sit the projector further in, but the projector still hits the front headlight lenses.
They're aftermarket. I've got them on ebay for $70, OEM are much more expensive. Yep same thing for me - the shrouds are touching the outer lenses, and maybe that's the reason i was getting moisture inside - i could not close them completely for 1 or 2 millimeters. But otherwise it's ok, i was still able to adjust the beams. Only the angle adjustment didn't work for some reason.
hope you havent gone too far.. if it hits the headlight lens in the front, you may need to adjust your headlights up.. but check with the projectors that it is not aimed to high and the lens will fit without mashing the lens. otherwise, dremel the front lens.chrome
Igor Kadulenkov ive done several retrofits before. the reason you are getting moisture is because they are not sealed properly. use oci butyl and stretch it along the headlight and then place into oven. i did mine 7 months ago and have no condensation
crysis860 Thanks, yep that's what i realized too. I just thought i would try to save 20 bucks on butyl :) But apparently i should have bought that instead of using sealant.
ermys texpa Hey. Thanks for your response. I only did mine, and this job takes a lot of time, like 10-12 hours. It will cost you a lot if you not doing that yourself. Would not it better to do it yourself? I can consider doing that for you for $400 or so with installation, but together with hid parts ($100) and new headlights - $75 it makes it around $600.
+vincent sarvida The lamp socket is H1. But i had to buy 3 9005/9006 connectors so that i would not cut the wires. One i used for lowbeam connector to relay switch connectors and 2 others for highbeam connectors to highbeam servos on the projectors.
So those two wires that come with the projector tap into or rewire to stock 9006 plug. Just wondering and also how did you adjust the projector beam cutoff on the ground? You can pm me on the 6thgen Accord forum. Wht00Accord
Yep, you need to get these www.ebay.com/itm/9006-9005-HB4-Male-Wire-Connector-Harness-HID-D2S-D2R-/230448984561?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a7d471f1&vxp=mtr and extend your 2 wires from projector by this connector and then plug it to the hi-beam. Or you can construct these male connectors by taking an old 9006 bulb and cutting the connector part off and connecting wires to it. Hmm not sure what do you mean by "cutoff"? Basically you can only adjust the angle (rotation), height (by the screw on the back of the housing) and forward direction of the light (by the screw on the back). The most important part is to adjust the angle before assembling the headlight, you can adjust it vertically later.
kenneth man The two red and black wires are for the high beam function of the projector so that when you flip on your stock high beams, the shield will drop inside the projector for high beams as well. The end piece of those wires can be cut off and you can attach any connector you need those wires to suit your car. Usually a universal 9006/9007. @itm/9006-9005-HB4-Male-Wire-Connector-Harness-HID-D2S-D2R-/230448984561?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a7d471f1&vxp=mtr Then you need a "y-splitter" for both sides to tap into the stock high beam wire connetor of the car. www.ebay.com/itm/9005-9006-High-Beam-Splitter-Wires-For-Quad-Dual-Projector-Headlights-Retrofit-/141256376990?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20e389429e&vxp=mtr
The wires on the projector are only for high beam functionality of the projector. The main headlights work from the hid bulb being connected to the wire harness which is connected to the OEM socket.
jbads1989 Hi. What wires? Plz be more specific. The kit comes with relay, but you don't have to install it actually. You need it only if you don't want to put additional load on the electrical system that was not designed for HIDs. But many people use original wiring without a problem.
Igor Kadulenkov on the actual retrofit unit i see both red and a black wire. just not sure what those are used for. another thing i have been hearing a lot about both a high beam and low beam mode, i only want to run these as a low beam.
jbads1989 the black and red wires are for the small servo that opens a shutter inside the unit which makes it a high beam. I connected it to the high beam bulb connector in my car. In case you want to use it only in low beam mode, you can leave this unplugged.
Okay and when i order the kit it says in the message to leave what color i want and thats the 6000k then it ask for original bulb model from my headlight and it has a list of h1, h4, h7, 9004/9007, 9005/9006 Which one do i tell them i need?
+Nick Givens and so since i need two, one for each headlight, i have to order 2 of the kits or does the v1 kit come with one for each headlight? Thank you
+Nick Givens I didn't specify the connector type when i was ordering, but if they ask for that i would recommend getting 9005/9006 - this is the type of bulb in 6gen accord.
Plasti Dip Spray Black. It gives thin rubber coating which is also removable. www.homedepot.com/p/Plasti-Dip-11-oz-Black-Rubber-Coating-Spray-11203-6/100131010
Hey igor I don't know if you charge or anyone else can help I just bought an 02 ex and I'd like to get the hid retrofit with black out and clear lense swap white led strip and switch back more then happy to pay just need a pro
Ronald Balu Hi Ronald, i did this for fun first time. I am not a pro at all :)) Having this video you can be a pro too. It's time consuming and took me more than one day to finish. So i am kinda lazy for doing that again, unless it's $300 or so. I would recommend just getting all the parts and doing that by yourself. Really, it's not that hard.
Hmm i don't know. It takes so much time to install, it doesn't worth to pay for such job. Can't you do it by yourself? It's pretty straightforward. Email me to igor@kadulenkov.com.
Hello, i am actually going to sell the set that is on this video, since i am selling the car. It's in good condition after around 15000 miles. Let me know if interested. My email igor@kadulenkov.com
Igor, my son has a 2002 Honda Accord V6 that I bought aftermarket headlights and a HID kit from KB Car Stuff, and I don't know how to hook up the HIDs. Can you hit me up on twitter @TSgt.Maddog
+Jeff “Maddog” Duncan Hi Jeff, what's in the HID kit? Is it highbeam also? If it comes with relay, you have an option to connect via relay: Put a wire from the plus of the battery to relay signal input. Connect both HID ballast plus cables to signal output of relay. Connect HID minus cable to anywhere on the frame of the car. Then you need to connect relay control inputs to your standard bulb cable that goes into the headlight. Then just connect the HID bulb to HID ballasts and install them in the headlights.
+Jeff “Maddog” Duncan If you don't have relay, you can connect the HID ballasts straight to the standard wires that go to the bulbs, but that's not recommended, because ballasts may drain high current at first few seconds when you turn them on. And you will put additional load in the electrical system that was not supposed to stand that.
Roger that, thanks for getting back to me. No it's just lowbeam. I got the kit from KBCar Stuff awhile back, and I'm just now getting around to installing them. I have the aftermarket headlights installed awhile back with the factory bulbs. Again thanks for the information.
блиин. пол часа видео о том как чувак носится гаражу с фарой. покрасил в одном углу, попилил в в другом. лишнее снял рашпилем на коленке в туалете. особых нюансов нет. обычная сборка
The shrouds are touching the lens, but I was able to lock the headlights and adjust them. I am not getting moisture inside and everything is good for almost a year now. I already put like 12000 miles with these headlights. So why don't you stop whining and do something useful instead? Make a better guide than me for a start.
+Martyn Rosenburg hi Martyn, thanks for feedback! Glad my videos were of use :)
i bought a Honda Accord 6th after watching this. Top job
taurean22 Omg, really? :)
taurean22 good job Man.. 👍
Good Job Igor ! and thank you for the hard work you did filming it !
Thank you, hope it was useful :)
One question, what are the inner lights for now? The ones that were originally high beams. Since the projectors are hi/lo beams now.
Basically im asking what are you using the factory high beam reflector for? Is it just not connected at all?
It’s amazing bro! I really like this video for my Honda accord 6th gen. Thank you so much. 👏🏼👏🏼
i found out those ebay mini h1 retrofit projectors are the same damn ones from the retrofit source which they sell for like triple the price.
+Junior Morales Yep, the set on the video is from China and it's great quality. Works great still after 2 years.
There is some space for imagination there. I would say DRLs would fit quite nicely underneath the main reflector where the yellow strip is. And that yellow strip is detachable. I thought of adding "angel eyes" as well, but it would be another 60 bucks, so I decided to leave the idea :)
Good luck with your modifications!
The moment he took the headlight and put it in the microwave I went straight to the comments 🤣
It's a Turkish delight!
Hi just wondering how you adjusted it horizontally before reassembling the light? Thanks
Im really late here are there any new retrofits that fit without sawing? Since its been 9 yearsaybe something new came out 😊
Awesome video. I've been wanting to do them but was afraid until this video. What temp bulbs did you use 6000k?
How can I find the demon's eye, it is true to yours, friend, thank you where you bought it or as requested.
How are these holding up? Do they wobble when you hit bumps at speed? Are you still building sets for sale? Great video!
Nice work. I was wondering do you connect the positive and negative wire from the projector to the original high beam harness? So when you turn on the high beam. It turn on the original and projector high beam?
Yes, as far as I remember, for some reason it would power both the low and high beam on when I turned on high beam
Conglaturations! Good video!
Two doubts:
1 - Did you use Go Pro camera to make videos?
2 - Did you use Honda original headlight pair?
arai Hi, thanks! Yep it was a GoPro Hero 2. For headlights - I don't think they were original, it was just $70 for two. Original headlights would cost about 300 for two or so.
Igor Kadulenkov OK! Thanks for reply!
God bless you!
Igor K, are you here in the U.S???? I want to know if you would mod some for me and the price?? I'll supply the parts, but need your DIY experience.
Great video. What size projectors did you use for this?
+Marlyn Jean These are generic Morimoto Mini H1. DIMENSIONS
Max Depth:139mm (includes bulb holder)
Max Width:88mm
Max Height:73mm
Lens Diameter:2.5"
Mounting Shaft:
Diameter = 20mm
Housing Depth:Minimum = 115mm
Great video man. Going to do this soon. One question I have is that, how do you aim these lights if you need to do so?
Hey, thanks and good luck :)
Well, i just use the adjustment screws on the back of the headlights.

Igor Kadulenkov No worries man! Thanks for the reply!
I think I am almost all set, how is it adjusted horizontally? Is it just by moving the lens? Ordered my stuff very excited.
jbads1989 Hi, good question. There are two adjustment bolts - one of them is for horizontal adjustment, but in my case it didn't work for some reason.
Awesome job bro!
Can you give the reference about the light, it is not on Ali Express
Hey man what did you do with the two little wires tht came with the projectors?? And where did u connect them?
hey Jesus, you mean hi-beam (servo) wires? You need to connect them to wires that go to your hi-beam bulb.
I used 2x 9006/9005 HB4 male connectors they're like 5 bucks on ebay. Try searching for "9006/9005 HB4 male connector".
Then i connected red wire from projector to red wire on connector, and then black to black. And that's it, just plug them in instead hi-beam bulb.
Check 29:21 , you can see the wire with 9006/9005 connector already attached and then i am plugging it to hi-beam cable.
Nice vid. But have fun peeling the plasti dip off. On the first coat your basically supposed to just do a dusting (I've been peeling plastidip from the po of my 02 for 3 days now 🙃)
Thanks, not sure why I would peel it off though
Otlichnoe video! Appreciate it, boss!
Spasibo! :) Thx sir.
Did u use h1 bulbs an how did u make dem high/low beam.
Was that just a brand new OEM headlight or is that different than stock?
+Nick Givens It was a brand new aftermarket headlight, that was matching stock headlight dimensions and parameters.
I paid around 70$ for a set of two.

+vincent sarvida The lamp socket is H1. But i had to buy 3 9005/9006 connectors so that i would not cut the wires. One i used for lowbeam connector to relay switch connectors and 2 others for highbeam connectors to highbeam servos on the projectors.
can you make a video on how to put a 2 xenon projectors in a single head lamp i carolla ae 101 or carolla 1998
Sorry, I usually only work on my own cars
um you are aware that the 6th generation of the honda accord goes from 1998 to 2002 right? not 1999 to 2002
Michael Brown Yep, thanks. My bad, fixed the description.
Where did you plug the ballast?
So those two wires that come with the projector tap into or rewire to stock 9006 plug. Just wondering and also how did you adjust the projector beam cutoff on the ground?
You can pm me on the 6thgen Accord forum. Wht00Accord
Yep, you need to get these www.ebay.com/itm/9006-9005-HB4-Male-Wire-Connector-Harness-HID-D2S-D2R-/230448984561?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a7d471f1&vxp=mtr
and extend your 2 wires from projector by this connector and then plug it to the hi-beam.
Usually a universal 9006/9007. @itm/9006-9005-HB4-Male-Wire-Connector-Harness-HID-D2S-D2R-/230448984561?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a7d471f1&vxp=mtr Then you need a "y-splitter" for both sides to tap into the stock high beam wire connetor of the car. www.ebay.com/itm/9005-9006-High-Beam-Splitter-Wires-For-Quad-Dual-Projector-Headlights-Retrofit-/141256376990?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20e389429e&vxp=mtr
The one thing thats confusing me is how will the headlights turn on when the projector is wired to the high beams?
The wires on the projector are only for high beam functionality of the projector.
The main headlights work from the hid bulb being connected to the wire harness which is connected to the OEM socket.
do you still make these? And you said use h1 protectors?
I can make a set if needed. You can shoot me an email - igor@kadulenkov.com
Yes, this is h1
GOOD WORK
Omg your from Chicago 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼💪🏼 great work
+CloneRenolc hehe , yep , Lincoln Park. Thanks!
If those wires are for the shutter what do i connect those to? I plan on running mine as a low beam but they function as a highbeam as well?
jbads1989 Hi.
Projector should go on the inside for high beams and better looks. IMO
+Hammer Home it would not fit. It barely fits in low beam
I have this accord🤩
Perfect !!
+Nick Givens If you buying the same Chinese set i got, you need just 1.
+Nick Givens Also choose a bit more expensive ballast from them, it's way more reliable.
so I shouldn't be spending more than the $90? And where can I find a more reliable ballast.
What kind of spray paint did you use?
Plasti Dip Spray Black. It gives thin rubber coating which is also removable.

Can you put those bird light batteries in there man
Hey igor I don't know if you charge or anyone else can help I just bought an 02 ex and I'd like to get the hid retrofit with black out and clear lense swap white led strip and switch back more then happy to pay just need a pro
300 hundred might be doable I'll contact you when I'm ready I know you say it's easier but id feel more comfortable if you did it lol
Ronald Balu thanks. If you decide, drop me an email - igorATkadulenkov.com
+Ronald Balu Do it yourself replacing headlights oem or aftermarket isn't hard.
its a good job friend i will try it to my car 😉😉❤
+خليفة العلي thanks! Good luck
what temperature and watt are the bulbs?
6000K and 35W, i believe
Even tho he made it happened dosent mean they didnt leak water eventually
They didn't leak, but you can buy extra sealant.
Is ok if I pay u so u can do me projecter headlight for Honda Accord 2000
Hmm i don't know. It takes so much time to install, it doesn't worth to pay for such job. Can't you do it by yourself? It's pretty straightforward. Email me to igor@kadulenkov.com.
Would you consider doing another set for a fee? :)
ghostdog86 Hi. Can you leave your email?
Igor Kadulenkov israelsaintil@gmail.com
dude if you want real fat headlights you gotta add some bacon strips when you bake 'em
some bacon and cheese... sounds good indeed!
what brand headlights are these?
+David Ventura I believe that was JDM
Cool Guy! :)
I use a hot air gun for disassembly a headlights
Yep that's another way to go, but i don't have the right tools :)
how longer does that take with a hot air gun?
About 15-20 min per one headlight.
Yo uso una pistola de calor que es mucho mas eficiente
what where the holes protected with?
jbads1989 Hmm what holes are your referring to?
jbads1989 oh, i just removed all of the rubber components and used some scotch tape to seal all the holes.
Do you have a set you are selling?
Hello, i am actually going to sell the set that is on this video, since i am selling the car. It's in good condition after around 15000 miles. Let me know if interested. My email igor@kadulenkov.com
I am currently selling the set that's on this video: www.ebay.com/itm/191897536024
Oh thank god its a v6.
+MrRangerZr1 Hmm v4 has different headlights? I thought they were the same.
Igor Kadulenkov they are, some of the 2000-02 have different front bumpers fenders and hoods
That was 6000k?!?! They look so blue, I thought it was 8000.
+Ameer Mohammed yep 6000K
Thank God nowadays new bulbs work just fine. My headlights are that bright n there led xenon 10k
Can you do a set for me!?
h22sparkle let's talk!
ghostdog86 Can you write to me on google +? Or send your email?
Do you have a Facebook?
Igor, my son has a 2002 Honda Accord V6 that I bought aftermarket headlights and a HID kit from KB Car Stuff, and I don't know how to hook up the HIDs. Can you hit me up on twitter @TSgt.Maddog
Or message me on Google+
+Igor Kadulenkov
Sadly i retro cg headlight all the time. The mini h1 hits the lenses if you bolt them out. So good luck for mis teaching people
The shrouds are touching the lens, but I was able to lock the headlights and adjust them. I am not getting moisture inside and everything is good for almost a year now. I already put like 12000 miles with these headlights. So why don't you stop whining and do something useful instead? Make a better guide than me for a start.
Hmm,
